Keep Obama for one more year

My liberal son-in-law and I had a discussion this weekend in which we both agreed on one point in particular about the current political situation: we’re both sick of hearing about it. We agreed that neither party had a candidate in which the mass populace feels completely confident supporting.

Perhaps in the simpler days of Harry Truman, with a handful of old timers sitting around the drink box at a mom and pop filling station, you could hear, “He says what he thinks,” and that would be a “good enough” endorsement of a presidential candidate.

Today, it just ain’t so. The theory of “He can’t be any worse than what we have now” is speculative reasoning at its worse.

We want to think in the unlikely event of his election, he would be surrounded by enough seasoned, knowledgeable and reasonable personnel to keep him in check and prevent him from doing too much damage. Nevertheless, he is the only choice on the Republican ticket.

The Republicans narrowed their choice from 19 to one. The Democrats did not have that luxury. Their choice was made for them before Bernie was ever a factor. Although he made a valiant run and gained many supporters, you can’t buck the party and win.

Despite the polls of voters distrusting his opponent, despite the dismissing of the Benghazi mishandling, foreign contributions, email discrepancies, technicalities of the investigations, Bernie’s competition remains unscathed. Thanks to the FBI and the media’s contention of “conspiracy theories” she will not be prosecuted.

My hypothetical solution would be to bite the bullet and let President Obama serve one more year with certain restrictions (i.e., no appointments and self-designed laws) and postpone the election until November 2017.

Start over with a clean slate of wannabe contestants and see if we can shake out two moral and reputable candidates with fewer skeletons in their closet and deserving of our trust.

This year, more than any election I can remember, more people will be voting for a party rather than a candidate. My second solution, which I feel will be the most pursued avenue, hold your nose and vote.

Hills is sweating things a bit right now.  Did you see her yesterday?  No hairdo, big bags under her eyes.  Julian Assange came out the other day and said they have a big Oct. surprise for Hills regarding her playing nice (aand corrupt) with the Russians now.  She might be a bit worried about the DNC dead guy, Seth Rich, in D.C., who was set to testify to the FBI about the Democrats and voting issues.    You can only have just so many around you murdered before the walls start crumbling.  I think she is rattled and there is more to come.  We need a Woodward or Bernstein to come out and do some expert reporting.  Give 'em 24 hour proteciton by the Secret Service. I am sure pigs will fly if that ever happens.

MLC Woodward and Berstein against HRC and the DNC?  lol did you take the Red Pill again? Progressives have won the century long battle, the 16th & 17th Amendments accomplished their desired results. Margret Sanger get's 90% of her utopia (Eugenics against Blacks is the only thing she Hillary and the Democrats didn't get,,,, yet) Government Education a la Karl Marx accomplished what Tojo, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Bin Laden couldn't. I'm not gonna sit here and blame the FBI or DOJ or even Hillary for that matter, the Blame rest SQUARELY on the MILLIONS of people that will show up in November and elect her, thus as far as I'm concerned THEY are without any doubt our Greatest Threat to what little Liberty we have left, Not ISIS, Not Radical islam, Not Zika or Ebola, Not China, Not Global Warming, but fellow citizens that WILL Surrender ALL of us over to a Pathologial Liar are our Greatest Enemy ,,,, Turns out Castro was right, We HAVE destroyed OURSELVES
It's funny...it sems to me that the people who pay the most taxes are those who have had enough and are leaning toward Trump. Democrats by nature pay little or no taxes are fine with their candidate. It is the same with those who riot. I would be willing to bet that those who riot and burn do not pay one penny of taxes. I don't know what the answer is; is it a flat tax? I just don't know, but until all have skin in the game, nothing will ever change. When you don't have to pay, then nothing has value. I think people should have to pass a simple test to vote. I would lay you 20-1 that 75% that vote Democrat could not even tell you the three branches of government.

Dar - You may be accurate; however, the problem is more widespread.  If one can trust the polls, the typical Trump supporter is a less-than-collge educated white male (and his wife) who also may have trouble with your civics query.  The average voter appears to be non-curious and influenced by single-sourced news outlets who feed him or her the reality expected regardless of its correlation with actual facts.  Voters do have skin in the game with policy decisions that affect them, but sadly, they seem oblivious to the consequences of their choices.  I share your bewilderment with the answer to establishing an enlightened electorate.

Taxes grow US Jobs  OVERSEAS, Obama has created Millions of Jobs, just not here in America, Hillary likewise will continue Obama's Job Creation Legacy, What's really funny (sad) is just how un thinking people are and gullible. Hillary (and Democrats) have convinced Millions that Raising Taxes on those that Create New Jobs is how ya grow more jobs.. but let's THINK for just a second, We raise taxes on Tobacco to get people to STOP using tobacco, We used Higher Taxes on Speeders (Super Speeder laws) to get people to slow down, Some communities have High Taxes to keep low incomers out, thus the correlation between raising Taxes to LESSEN an event/thing is established, Now Hillary is asking people to believe Raising Taxes on Job Creators will NOT lessen the Job Creators incentive...oops silly me I keep forgetting just how believable Hillary is
Jessie, explain Kansas. Brownback put all the conservative tax/economy ideas into his state and everything went to hell in a handbasket.  Explain W. He had eight years and his ideas and plans put America into the worst recession outside of the Great Depression.  I understand what you're saying, but counting on less taxes and less regulations and hoping that corporations see the light and act altruistically is a fantasy too.
The resession was caused by polocies that the LEFT...Bill Clinton put into place...that everyone should own a home qualified or not. As a small business owner, I'm getting killed. When all said and done I'm up to 60% tax rate. If Hillary gets elected I will not expand my mini empire and actually look for ways out. Thus many no new jobs and less money I will put into the system. There is a tipping point...a risk/reward if you will. If there is no real award, why take the risk?

Kansas Ok I'll see your Kansas and raise you a Texas Utah Idaho & Wyoming. Brownback if you'll research left Federal programs in place, he wanted his cake and ate it too. When a State Government ALLOWS Federal dollars into their budgets they also have to allow in the Federal STRINGS, States like Wyoming that refuse Federal Dollars have far far far fewer strings to deal with, States like Wyoming that support THEIR local internal Governments above and beyond the Federal ones, have Far far far fewer problems, Companies are Flocking to these States, they are Hiring people daily, lower income folks are finding their way to Middle Income, Middle Incomers are finding way to become 1%ers, oh and NO ONE is starving to death in these states, in fact even the "poor" in these states are finding it harder and harder to remain poor,
