Commissioners change meeting time

The Jan. 28 regular meeting of the Fayette County Board of Commissioners will take place on its customary day - the fourth Thursday of the month - but at a different time.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the time of the meeting has been moved from its usual 7 p.m. slot to 3 p.m.

The meeting will take place in the board’s regular meeting room at the county’s administrative complex on Stonewall Avenue in Fayetteville.

I would hope there is more of an explaination then a scheduling conflict.

The NAACP is having their annual awards baquet that night at 7 and two of our commissioners have been invited. No idea if they are in the running for an award or providing the musical entertainment or just sitting there as honored guests. Can't miss that.

That night?   You mean tonight?  Funny, no mention of a banquet on their website.

H&F & "Schedule Conflict". What a shame!  I'm sure it interfered with your plan to attend the meeting and issue your congratulations to Commission mbrs for settling the lawsuit!  Never mind--I'm sure you'll get more opportunities in the future that will fit into your schedule.  And I trust  they'll welcome you, despite your historical personal anti-commission comments!

Scheduling Conflict Three of the Five Commissioners discovered they will face NO CONFLICTS if they move the meeting to a time when their Bosses are at work. . I understand Barlow and Oddo are seeking to change the time permanently to 3am on the 5th Saturday of each month

Does anyone know about the February 11 meeting? I believe they tabled the appointment of Aaron Wright as the Republican Elections Board appointee.

I'm an R, but the local party, lets just say, they currently don't impress me as a group.

I'm not to impressed with 3 of the Commissioners who evidently believe they have some sort of power over the appointees. They don't. So, the question stands, is there an 11 Feb Commissioners meeting? Time?

I'm not sure it was about power.  More like clarification.   What's the rush anyway?
