Beverley Watson’s murderer is up for medical parole

The Georgia Corrections and Parole Board (GCPB) is considering Jim Watson for an early release due to what was described as a declining health status. Watson was convicted in 2002 of the murder of his wife, Beverley, in 1997. Beverley’s brother, Scott Bennett, is adamant that Jim Watson not be released.

Electrical fire closes Willowbend Road, PTC City Hall & Library until at least noon on Monday

An electrical fire outside City Hall in Peachtree City on Sunday afternoon cut utilities to the building and caused the closure of the eastern portion of Willowbend Road (between Hip Pocket Road and Highway 54 by the Presbyterian Church and City Hall). Utility crews remain at work Monday morning
