Trump edges Rubio in Fayette, Cruz lags in 3rd for GOP

Clinton overwhelms Sanders on Democrat ballots

UPDATED 9:45 p.m., March 1 — It’s all over but the shouting, and there are two primary facts from Tuesday’s Super Tuesday Presidential Preference primary voting: Fayette is Trump territory, but not by much, and Fayette Democrats didn’t feel the Bern, not by a long shot.

With all 38 precincts counted, businessman Donald Trump led the Republican balloting just 3 points ahead of freshman Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

Evangelical favorite, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, came in third about 6 points behind Rubio. Ohio Gov. John Kasich topped Dr. Ben Carson by about a percentage point, but both were in the single digits percentage-wise.

On Fayette Democrat ballots, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton easily swamped self-described Socialist Democrat Bernie Sanders by more than 2-to-1.

Here are the final, unofficial totals, from the website of the Georgia Secretary of State:

Republican (24,644 votes cast)

Donald J. Trump — 8,055 (32.69%)

Marco Rubio — 7,252 (29.43%)

Ted Cruz — 5,810 (23.58%)

John R. Kasich — 1,737 (7.05%)

Ben Carson — 1,511 (6.13%)

Democrat (10,211 votes cast)

Hillary Clinton — 7,257 (71.07%)

Bernie Sanders — 2,918 (28.58%)

Fayette has more than 86,000 registered voters, about 66,000 of them tagged as “active voters,” meaning they vote in most national elections.

Christie a hostage?                                                Look at former candidate Chris Christie as he stands behind the Trumpernator. He looks less happy than one of those Christians in orange jumpsuits being herded to the beach by the bloodthirsty muslims with knives in their hands.                                                                                                                               He must be happy at some level as this is obviously an audition for VP and since Trump is going to be a one-termer, Christie will be a shoo-in in 2020. Smile once in a while Mr. Christie, the world is your oyster.
Oh come on mudcat.  He was in opulent Mar A Lago's ballroom and not one camera shot was done to see what the crowd looked like or what was going on in the room from the Christie vantage point.   Heck, he was probably planning a skinny dip in the pool at midnight and then a nacho fest afterwards with some brewskis and a nubile bikini'd Palm Beach socialite's daughter.  I mean, why else be there in the winter?  My sister's best friend was THE social director at the Beach Club there in the 80's.  The stories she told would melt those coke bottle glasses right off old Hillary's nose, with or without Bill as a hubby.  The quizical look on his face was him trying to figure if it would be okay to wear trunks or not.   The liberal press is just so P O' that Trump has gotten this far and they have to cover him, they have to make up junk news like this now.
