UPS makes Christmas deliveries in style

There is more than one way for UPS to deliver Christmas packages. This innovative approach was used by a driver in Peachtree City on Dec. 22 to make deliveries just in time for Christmas. The job was made a bit easier since the city has nearly 100 miles of cart paths. Photo/Submitted.

Path traffic uh no thanks   Just what we need to add to the paths.  Commercial delivery systems.  With trailers.      Fed Ex, Amazon are you gonna play, too?  I suggest taller sides and a top to that trailer, one good bump (and we certainly have a plethora of those) and see ya later oh elf delivery packages.

Commercial Traffic on Recreation..... paths. Most interesting.  I hope the cart owner - if it's not UPS - is carrying enough liablity insurnace.  It could get a little interesting in civil court if the golf cart/trailer is involved in an accident.

Caution - The Surgeon General has determined that constant blogging is an addiction that can cause a sedentary life style.

Cy   The rampant drug running on the paths is not included in the definition of commercial traffic on recreation, btw.  That falls under a special statute. Or was it statue.  Just so we are clear here.
the BIGGY being overlooked ,, IF ,,,Fed Ex and UPS do this ,,,,, the Federal Government just got it's talons into the PTC cath path system, as INTERSTATE COMMERCE is happining You peachtreecidiots ready to put them seat belts on ? eeerrr I mean Peachtree City folk..

Try to do something nice                                       and the pinheads come out after you. Geeeez. What can you do? Try and try again and then they stab you in the back. Howabout your stupid packages that you probably ordered at the last minute didn't arrive on time? Would you be one of those dopes saying (as they did to Fed-X on Christmas Eve) "You ruined my kid's Christmas"?                                                                                Maybe you could get your stuff shipped a little earlier by planning ahead and thinking of your family and kids in October and November instead of Dec. 21 when you get back from the house of your mistress or maybe she's just a good friend.                                                                  Plan ahead with your big head once in a while.                                                                    Doesn't anyone remember personal responsibility? You can't blame everything on someone else. And kudos to the UPS woman who is trying to play catchup and get her job done on time and in a creative manner.
mudcat   Has it occurred to you as it did to me that this was a marketing setup?  The photo was submitted.  Do you think that UPS or the mayor or  real estate firm or CVB or any/all of the above said this would look good in a brochure or some marketing publication?  Pretty poor choice if it was, with the electrical box sticking out of the yard, the dormant plants under the mailbox and the 30 year old (yawn) colonial. Any idea if Pulte or Kolter might be involved?  No way. Or how about FCDA?  Ha, that was just a wolf joke.    Hey, I got my UPS padded mailer today from Comcrap wih my new remote to replace the one that I've had for over five years and is just about dead.  Of course, it was sent UPS Next Day Air Saver even thought I ordered it on the 21st, got e-mail confirmation saying it was shipped on the 24th and it only had to come from Charlotte.  And I had to call Comcrap back again to bi#@! about the $5.95 one-time shipping and handling fee and the $5.95 one time installation charge (for a freekin' remote??) that we (everyone, listen up!) are never to pay for in PTC just because Comcrap decided to close the customer center over on Dividend (fact) just to save themselves some dough.  Sorry, I got off track here.    Now, if none of the above, then I still do not want our paths used in this manner.  They were not designed for it and who in the heck wants to have to deal with blockage when that trailer tips over or some poor neglected minor who goes by figures it out and decides to help themselves with the goodies onboard when he doubles back while she is flinging someone else's box up on the railing there?  Then we have the ATV cops running amuck looking for the thieves on the paths and they cannot be over at Walmart keeping those thieves at bay.  The ripple effect would be enormous.   I agree with you on the late shoppers.  Just as Kroger and Publix are slammed every Christmas Eve with dopes who think the store will disappear or slide off a cliff if it closes for one day and they have to stock up on stuff they could have planned to buy the week or even a few days before the holiday.   And why the heck was there not a male driver on that cart, anyway?  A woman? (Are we sure which?)  How passe, how early 1960's.  Nothing against her, I am sure she did a great job if this was a real workday for her.  Let the men go out and freeze their tookus off.  She should have the big brown truck.  Hillary would never stand for this.  Or sit.  Well, maybe sit, but never stand.

Leftover egg nog                                                goes sour after a couple of days and should not be injested before bedtime as it causes irritable andirrational thoughts while blogging.                                                                       Just two thoughts here - if it was a marketing plan, there needs to be a new marketing director before New Years. And worries about a woman driver? That trailer looks incompatible with what UPS thinks of about security and safety of packages - but other than that, I think the driver was showing initiative and nowhere does it say or show that she was actually on the paths. She was in fact on the streets of Morallion Hills.
Street of Morallion?   Now, I am having a hard time believing all of this, believe it or not.  So UPS rented the cart from the golf guy up at 54 & Huddleston (note sticker) and drove it down to UPS, where they loaded it up, drove it up Dividend again, through the tunnel to Hippocket and down to the Stinky Trail to Morallion??  Or did they go behind Crime Village on the Pkwy and go up and down the path cliffs off Braelinn and over the gushing water features to get to Morallion?  With all that stacked on there vertically and staying all neat and linear and dry?  Or did one of those big Browns drive into a quiet cul de sac in Morallion at the crack of dawn and dump it all out on the driveway for hoodie driver to then come out of the warm residence to stack and pack? I have a home on the the Monangahela river I would like to sell you, mud.  It is on the river, not an island in the river.  Can we talk logistics here?   There might be a few eggheads around here, but no nog heads.  Hate egg nog.  Gross.

MLC Comcast remote Comcast tacks on charges to replace a defective remote that I assume is their property?   Uverse doesn't but they try and trick you into buying a remote on their website
Sounds like he is talking about the voice activated remote they just started offering. Works pretty good.
SPQR & Spy Yes, it is Comcrap's remote.  I do pay them $4.95 a month Service Protection Plan (think of that-I have to pay extra for them to protect their service they are required to provide me by accepting my regular service payment every month) just so I don't have to mess with all their equipment when they try to get me to fix their chit over the phone.  They are required to replace or repair with that fee tacked on.  I was also told that if you live outside a certain radius of their nearest customer service center (oh please) they are required to mail chit to you instead of you driving over to Jonesboro or Riverdale or Hell-O to get it swapped out with working chit.  Ergo, if you live in PTC, we are in the Comcrap boonies to them, so don't ever think you have to drive back and forth.  Tell them to ship it or send someone to your house with it.  And insist that they credit your account for the time they did not provide service as you paid for it.  And if they miss the 4 hour window for delivery, make them pay you the $20. they say they will pay you.   Spy, is that a Comcrap remote or Uverse you are talking about?  Not sure which you meant.

remote MLC Uverse doesn't have a stand alone voice remote. They do have one that interfaces with an I phone. Wow $5 bucks a month to insure they fix their stuff in a timely fashion.  That's a level of extortion right up there with leak insurance and its not 3 but 5.
Comcast...works good.  Better servce than my neighbors Uverse, in my opinion.

Hope you have insurance.  Just saw this get-up riding down the path at Robinson Road pulling a trailer of card board packages in the pouring rain.
Brew-- Please tell us you are joking...were they covered with plastic?
brewster's picture
They were not, just like the photograph above, barely could see them in the down pour.
Wow...here's another.....I had to go to Newnan ariound noon today....when I went to turn left onto Lower Fayetteville Rd from 34, here come a bicycle flying across 34 from Sams Club area to 34 toward PTC...right in the right driving lane....this maroon had a black helmet, goggles, and black poncho billowing in the downpour.  It was pouring rain, I mean so hard you think about pulling off the road for it to pass...how he even stayed upright I have no clue and where in the name of Gawd he had to be will be one of my life's mysteries. Hey, maybe he had a package to deliver, too....good grief!!!  A bicycle on 34...man oh man...
