New Hampshire was a disappointment for those who do not support Mitt. Maybe Huntsman gets another chance. Ron Paul is in second? Romney more than doubling Huntsman and tripling the rest?

Mitt's totally unaffiliated Restore Our Future Super PAC eviscerated Newt in Iowa. Now Newt's totally unaffiliated Winning Our Future Super PAC is on a mission to destroy Romney. Funded by $5 million from the owner of the Sands casino, Winning Our Future has announced a $3.2 million ad buy in South Carolina to promote a devastating 27 minute movie portraying Romney as a corporate raider amassing his huge fortune by destroying people's lives. Here's the trailer at the kingofbain.com website which they set up as the internet portal to attack Mitt:

(I cannot seem to link to the video. You can find it at www.kingofbain.com.)

Harsh stuff. I wonder if the Obama people have noticed it?

Before this, a half million dollar ad buy in SC was huge. Perry is reportedly considering about $300,000. Santorum is buying a little over $200,000 statewide. Newt's totally unaffiliated Super PAC buying $3.2 million was enormous. Naturally Mitt's totally unaffiliated Super PAC announced today that Restore Our Future would buy $2.3 million in SC to support Mitt. Those poor people in South Carolina now face the prospect of twenty four hour seven day a week political commercials from every single radio and television station in the entire state continuously from now until the election. You just can't help but sympathize.

Mitt Romney as President will do for the USA

what Frank Lorenzo did for Eastern Airlines. Suck out the value for his investors and leave the rest of us behind with the carcass. Any of the other GOP candidates would do no better.

Like the $6.5 Trillion the current resident has done?

Just wondering Gort since the current resident of the Whitehouse will have sucked $6.5 Trillion dollars of wealth out of this Country by the end of his first term and wants to spend even more could Mitt do any worse? Maybe, I guess we will have to wait and see.

We now owe more then we own

Saw this the other day that the USA has crossed a very grim milestone of owing more money then what we take in as a nation. According to the MSNBC, By 2020 the national debt will be over $23 trillion while the GDP will only be just over $22 trillion.
Both parties are to blame for this mess but history will remember who was in the White House when our country officially crossed the line and now owes more than we own. THANK YOU MR. OBAMA!

History will relate where this mess started and the spend, spend, spend philosophy of a party who claimed that they were fiscal conservatives. History will also reveal who refused to work for the American people in order to regain/restore political power Obama never said he refused to cooperate with the Republican Party - and now it appears that the Republican Party is embracing 'class warfare'. Interesting. Tune in next week. It was interesting to hear one participant in last nights primary who stated that if his candidate (Ron Paul) didn't get the nomination - he was voting for Obama. LOL!

And where did it start?

This spending mess has been going for quite sometime and as I said both parties are guilty of it. I am not laying blame on one person or party but rather stating a fact that history will record that this event occurred during the Obama Administration.
I will add I find it interesting how when something good happens such as the Navy Seals taking out OBL, you want to jump on the bandwagon and build a monument to Obama for standing around 6000 miles away with his thumb up his rear but yet when it comes to taking responsibility for something he could have done something about, It's somebody else's fault.
Maybe you would be OK with the Republicans giving OBAMA a blank checkbook and letting him have at it but I'm not and happy to see they refused to allow it to happen. History will remember that Barrack Obama spent nearly twice as much as any other president and pushed out country into further economic disaster.

What in the Sam Hill

could Obama have done during the Clinton and Bush administrations? What were you doing as a citizen during the Bush administration - where was your thumb? Obama's blank checkbook? You and yours gave Bush that for the war in Iraq - Obama voted against it as a young Senator. Oh, the hypocrisy !

Quote:

You should have stopped there. The rest of your statement is 'look at me I agree with you guys - BS'

Hey - we're out of Iraq! You have guys running for the Republican Party who want to go back in. What in the h___ do you conservatives really want? God save us from the far right and the far left - are there some moderates around that can get this country moving again? (The Republican Party doesn't seem to want any)

Obama for Pope!

You are so right, Obama is so wonderful! Maybe instead of President, we should see if we can get him appointed to be pope.
Prior to Obama taking office, it took 10+ years for the national debt to increase by $4 trillion but if I use "obama" math, it's OK to spend nearly that much in 3 years. Had Obama kept in line with his predecessor, our country would not have crossed that milestone or even be near it but instead Mr. Obama has spent twice as much and as what to show for it?
Obama has been a miserable failure. Will he get re-elected? he might! Will I vote for him? I might

However, I will add that if Obama does get re-elected, it won't be because he earned or deserved it but rather because the Republicans spent to much time fighting between themselves and forgot to point out to America what a screw-up Barrack Obama has been.

According to our good friend, smelly drawers. The President has nothing to do with spending and we have to blame the House of Representatives for this mess? Remind me again, who was in control of the House from 2006 to 2010? That's right, Democrats. So if we want to believe oh smelly, you folks had plenty of time to fix things.
I will also remind you that for 2 years, Obama was sitting on a golden egg in that his party controlled not only the White House but both chambers.
Each time you try and lay sole blame on the Republicans for this mess, it comes back to bite you in the butt as I keep pointing out, Both sides are to blame for this mess and that includes the great and wonderful Mr. Obama.

I didn't say both sides were to blame, I only side PRESIDENT Obama was not solely to blame. But, what would you have them do? Let the entire financial system collapse and set the whole world back to the 1930s? Anyway, it's actually Robert Rubin's fault, and he served under Clinton, which makes him a Democrat I guess. He's the one that pulled the strings that drove the system to near collapse. You gonna vote for Romney or waste your vote on someone with no chance to win--perhaps Ron Paul on the Purple Kool-Aid ticket!

I hope that the sergeants on LAPD have a better facility for logical thinking than is being displayed here. Oh, I forgot, he's retired. Please don't think that law-enforcement officers who achieve 'rank' are illogical thinkers. let's review.

I believe I have said many times that I do not blame one single person or party for this mess. Let me try and explain this in terms you might be able to understand easier. I blame all politicians (past, present, & more than likely future ones as well) for this mess and that does include your wonderful Saint Barrack Obama. It does not matter if they are Democrat, Republican, Independents or whatever.
Democrats have to be willing and accept the bad & ugly with the good. You all want to run around and praise Obama for killing OBL while he really had nothing to do with it. So, someone came up with a plan and he "supposedly" approved it. Whoopee! So now we have the ugly and occurred during your watch, Our debt has surpassed the GDP and while some out there seem to think that's no big deal, it is! This occurred in 2012 and not at some point in the future. My reference to 2020 was that some experts are saying we could be a trillion dollars (possibly more) in the hole by then.
Smelly, you like to spout off how it's the House of Representatives fault but might I remind you again that the Republicans have only had control of that chamber for just over a year (1 year and 6 days) and spending is at the same level it was the 2 years prior and who was in control then, the Democrats. It is time you stop laying blame on the Republicans and accept that your beloved President and his party are to blame as well.
BTW, it's Lieutenant Sasquatch.

Thanks for the clarification. LAPD, like other law enforcement agencies have conservative officers - not necessarily radical 'right'. I don't apologize at this point, because I'm not really sure of anyone's identity in this discussion. People change all the time. I have great respect for the quality of LAPD ranking officers. I did not forget my words but rather was just thanking the president for doing his part. Man up Kevin and accept the fact that Obama is not perfect and his hands are just a dirty as everyone else.

But the double talk; the weak attempts to change my argument to "Obama is perfect;" the leaping logic; the "I heard somewhere" or "Someone I talked to at a party said" which tend to serve as your sources make me wonder what school or training facility has produced such leaping logic. But, by all means, continue to explain to us why "THANKS MR OBAMA" should not be construed as blaming just the President. Dang! You've made my nose and left ear bleed. Too much straining to comprehend.

I noticed you've shifted back to your "Obama deserves no credit for the OBL" kill; as his death was simply going to occur with no executive order or influence. As opposed to when you said he deserved SOME credit.

Now, when he runs into my sharp sword of truth and your expert water boarding of irrational ideas, he gets all flustered because he has to finally come up with some support for his long-held beliefs, reverting back to 'Obama didn't kill Osama with his bare hands, or 'everybody is to blame'.

Man did I sleep soundly. Maybe President Romney will make The TWELVE proud and finally do what he says. He can start balancing the budget by firing a few govt agencies worth of tax burden-creating govt employees. He enjoys firing people he said, so he'll be extatic.
Then he can end the lifelong govt pension and medical assistance nonsense.

SLindsey, yes, Mitt can and will do worst then President Obama.

If you don’t believe me, watch a Newt Getrich or Rick “Oops” Perry campaign advertisement and see what they say about Mitt.

Yes sir, Mitt will demand a hefty ‘rate of return’ on all that money he invested to become President. Maybe he’ll outsource the US Treasury Department to Bain Capital and be satisfied with 30%!

Of course I won’t have to worry about it. If anyone from the GOP becomes President they will probably have Homeland Security pick up working people like me. I’ll probably be put to work as an apprentice digger at a Newt Getrich ‘Moon Mine!’

Ready for Romney to "rightsize" government

I'm all for that. Slash and burn works well for me in terms of the size and scope of the federal govt, starting at headcount. Not that I think Romney would actually do that, but it sounds nice at least and we can only hope. If he did half of what he accomplished in the private sector or the Olympics, he'd go down in history as someone very substantial besides the fact that he was the man who made Gingrich look like an idiot who questions capitalism.

It amazes me that some in the media view Newt Gingrich as an "intellectual" instead of a rank opportunist and polished con-man, two traits he's already shown over time, along with his other failings. He ain't that brilliant, and trying to demolish Romney solely because Newt's massive ego can't stomach the fact that he's not anywhere near qualified to be President and Romney is stomping a mudhole into him doesn't seem all that strong in terms of intelligence or anything besides being some old pol whose sell-by date was quite a while ago.

Gort: The resistance

LOL!

Let's check out Intrade and see where the money is trending on the races:

Obama being re-elected: 50.6%
Repubs takeover the Senate: 76%
Repubs keep the House: 70%

If Romney makes it in, I don't see that much resistance, except from subversive followers of Monty Python and whiny sore loser Gingrich.

I don't know how much Gingrich charged Obama for creating Obama's campaign ads that are currently running in South Carolina and will be used later this year too, but maybe it will help him pay off his Tiffany's account.

Nuk_1, I don’t know anything about Intrade but it looks like

they know President Obama got at least of 50% chance of winning.

I’m a little skeptical about the numbers for the legislature.

What are existing GOP/Teaparty office holders from the House of Representatives going to tell the voters? “We have spent our entire term of office passing poison pill legislation we knew could not pass the Senate and the only thing we can agree on is naming a few Post Offices!”

What can any new GOP/Teaparty office seekers for the Senate going to tell the voters? “Do you like what the “GOP/Teaparty did with the House of Representatives, we can do the same thing for the Senate.”

It could be me but those just don’t sound very inspiring theme to run on.

Thanks but no thanks. The Republicans, Rep. Westmoreland, and ‘Diamond Lil Snow Bunny,’ can keep Newt Getrich as far as I’m concerned. You have to admit though, Newt warned Mitt to call off his PAC. Mitt answered back, “If the heat is too much for you get out of the kitchen.” Newt’s PAC answered with the “Bain Capital” show, aka: The Newtron bomb! 8 - )

Gort: It's numbers

Dems have so many contested and vacated seats to defend in the Senate that they are done unless the Repubs manage to totally screw it up with a lot of Christine O'Donnell's or Sharon Angle's. Even they have learned something from that experience by now and the Senate is easy pickings for the Repubs.
Repubs can always fall back on the fact that Harry Reid is an extremely dishonest hypocrite and part of the two-headed monster that saw one head get cut-off when they took over the House and demoted Pelosi.

I think the House will be a little closer than what a lot of the media or "gamblers" think. While the betting line is a little lower on the House than the Senate with Intrade, some of the TP gang might have some trouble in certain areas of the country if the general mood switches back to "let's come up with bipartisan solutions and at least appear to be professionals and adults." That's hardly a given, though. With it being a Presidential election year, it's likely to be hyper-partisan and bloody. Don't see the Dems taking back the House.

I'd put Obama's chances at a little above 50%...more like 55-60% at this time. A lot can change coming down the stretch, but he's the favorite at this point. Once Romney finishes off the bozos he's up against, it will get a lot more clearer as to who can capture the momentum going into November. Romney vs. Obama might hold down turnout even as there will be voters on either side with an enthusiasm gap.

Nuk_1, all you say may come true but,

like you said, anything can happen between now and then. As we get closer to Election Day the political advertising will get more and more frequent and quite a show for those with strong stomachs.

I would like to thank the Republican Party for all the great material they have provided to help get President Obama re-elected again. Keep up the good work! 8 - )

I read Ron Paul is retiring at the end of his term in office. Do you still say he won’t run for the LP if the GOP doesn’t take his political positions seriously?

My Fellow Warrior and Esteemed Cousin...

...I feel I simply must interject myself into your current fray. It seems the two of you have disregarded the infraction of 'piling on' (normally 15 yards) in your dealing with the abominable one.

You are hereby each fined one pitcher of beer at the next blogger gathering where spirits are served. You may file an appeal in triplicate to AtHomeGym who may consult MYTMITE for credibility reasons.

Which would be the bigger upset, a win by the Giants or Broncos?

Mike King and the Beer Fest

I don't know about showing my face in public--it might impair my freedom to skewer my fellow bloggers with my sharp sword of truth. As for the upsets, I think a Giants win would not be an upset, as I fully expect them to win, leaving the Broncos over the Pats as the only true upset. The Broncos will scare the Belly-Chick brigade, but come up short!

You should ask Bigfoot to join in the beer gathering! I'm sure he is aching to get out and about after his foot issues.

Besides, I only drink pineapple juice!

Ninja, not to worry, all the sharp swords of truth

(and otherwise) are sheathed. All the lions turn into pussycats and a great time is had by all. Of course, I cannot guarantee that if someone's head looks like it is going to explode from imagined self-worth, one of our members may not have a verbal pin to pop said head. I can guarantee that there have been no casualties from the several I have attended. Truly a great group of people. Anxiously awaiting the next one.

It's not those in attendance I would worry about, it's those that are not! I am sure those that take the time to show up are good sports and are fun to be around, at least for a while!

Giants over the Pack 27-24!

Ninja, attending a coffee is not like marrying them--you only

see each other for a few hours and you get to go home, with all your good feelings intact. Try it--you'll like it.

Agreed Mike

So Mitt wins if Newt doesn't destroy him in which case the TEAs are still deemed too badly flawed and the Rs end up with the strongest candidate by utter chance. That would be Huntsman, of course.

But stop the presses!!! What do you think of this? I'm astonished. As in, "Aliens have landed on the Mall" astonished:

JeffC & 'C'mon down!'

Whynot consider joining one of our coffee meetings or one of our "beverage of choice" gatherings? Can only guarantee you won't get mugged physically and you just might discover a group of pretty good Fayette County citizens who can discuss and laugh at just about anything!
