So much for transparency in government. Obama and his cronies are nothing but a bunch of crooks.

Bbbbbbbut Bush .........

I am reminded of 2 events.
1. Bush and Cheney sitting together privately discussing the personality of a New York Times reporter - open mic again.
2. Bush surprising Merkel by rubbing her back.

Horrible international incidents that were far more serious than personally insulting the Israeli PM, judging from the press coverage.

Politics as usual

From Obama to the Republicans:

Quote:

"I can only conclude that your decision to issue a subpoena, authorized by a party-line vote, was driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation," Obama's counsel, Kathryn Ruemmler, wrote in a letter to the top Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce committee

The Republican answer:

Quote:

“We have been reasonable every step of the way in this investigation, and it is a shame that the Obama Administration and House Democrats continue to put up partisan roadblocks to hide the truth from taxpayers. Solyndra was a jobs program gone bad, and we must learn the lessons of Solyndra as we work to turn our economy around and put folks back to work.

. . . and we still have thousands of people out of work. Let the economists and others figure out what went wrong - we're sick of the inaction of the politicians in Washington!! Repubs are blocking everything that Obama suggests - and coming up with nothing in return!! Thanks a lot!!

That's what Obama and the media like to portray it as, but the House has passed 15 bills that are in some way job-related and the Senate won't consider any of them, so it's hardly those Repub obstructionists. When Obama submits proposals that several in his own party immediately declare as no way whatsoever, the argument that Obama would do great things if only Repubs would get in line is ridiculous.

Solyndra was a complete farce. It wasn't just throwing a half a billion at a startup run by unqualified management, it was moving up the investors(a huge Obama bundler...who'd a thunk that?)ahead of the US taxpayer in the vent of failure, which was well-known to be inevitable rather quickly.

Who was it that said "elections have consequences?" A year ago, the American voter spoke very loudly that they were sick of the Obama/Dem vision by turning over the House in a historically record margin and taking over statehouses all across the country. If the Repubs want to "obstruct," seems like they are following the will of the people who elected them.

I don't want the government to "fix the economy." I want it to get the hell out of it(and health care which they have screwed up for years and years due to governmental interference), stop picking winners and losers, and stop engaging in pure crony capitalism.

a lot of people have accepted

it is useless.

that is why some places are very much in demand. This is a place I've been considering for about the past year.

In some way job related is just not good enough in these times - right? Regardless of political label, our biggest waste of taxpayer money is the salaries of those no- action members of Congress - IMHO.

Very difficult to even get a work visa into NZ and even tougher to become a resident. Either bring the skills and a company that will sponsor you(i.e. put up a bond on you) or a lot of $$$$(I believe it's about 500K cash in the bank unencumbered)if you plan on moving there and becoming an ex-pat. NZ is very strict on legal immigration and foreign workers.

Gee, and what do we have....a political party that is pandering and whining about all those poor souls that are here illegally.
