Hate to say we told you so, but we did. Economy is in trouble says CBO
Same authority as was used to put the security agents and equipment into airports!
You really don't think that if the military needed the airports and Interstates that they wouldn't be able to use them as a priority, do you?
Can you imagine Atlata running the airport for war time USA? Same as the schools, I suppose!
That is precisely what will happen if we shut off the bank loans, etc.
And that Roosevelt caused the depression instead of resolving it is sheer ignorance.
Children will have a better future than we have. Especially in your depression!
Where did Obama commit and overspend spend $2,5 trillion dollars? Wouldn't that be the congress and their pending projects from Bush!
It is yet to be seen that Obama has avoided a recession or depression. I was no fan of Bush but I can fully understand why many Americans view Obama as the Devil incarnate.
The "surplus" you refer to (left by slick Willie Clinton) never existed except as projections on paper. And ...... in the process of doing that Clinton gutted the CIA and, in great respect, the military. 9/11 would probably never have happened if Clinton had not put severe restrictions on CIA agent recruitment.
Obama calls repeatedly for both sides to "reach across the isle" yet his demands don't match his rhetoric. The Republicans, under the Democratically controlled Congress, have been "reaching" - translate that to "having their arms yanked out of their sockets". Now that the Dems no longer have a lock on the power Obama wants more compromise. I don't think so.
Sounds like a union doesn't it?
The American public can no longer afford the Obama style blind rush to socialism. Sure, we need to cut entitlements - specifically, we need to cut the people/parasites that never paid into the system. We need to get the multigenerational freeloaders off of the system. Get rid of Obama's freeloading aunt as a start.
Thanks for your input.
you just don't want to believe it. You need to come out of your ideological shell Dmom and view this Country as it really is.
When is the last time you visited a socialist country? Depending on your experience, you'd realize why the public is beginning to question the sincerity of some crying socialism. ( Sort of like crying wolf). Of course the plan to disenfranchise government workers is causing some eyebrows to raise. Wolves going looney.
to know what it is when you smell the corruption.
need to give a written test to determine ignorance. Keep sharing, maybe your 'theories' will wake up those who have been entertained by the rhetoric and demand action from Congress.

because you never give any. Just words...Just speeches.
Did you read the papers today? You are a master at retorts meant to belittle and evading a cogent argument. Your opinion is hidden in empty rhetoric . Anyway - let's see what happens tomorrow. There are democrats and republicans that are worried about re-election if they allow the country to default . Deals have been on the table and there are leaders who see a possibility of an acceptable compromise.
How many times have I asked you to prove your points? How many questions have gone unanswered. Why just on this one topic there are 5 as yet unanswered questions posed to you by me and yet you claim I evade.
Pot and kettle.
DM I will ask you again just one of my questions. What percentage do you think is "fair" to add to the percentage of income tax already paid by the "wealthy"?
You are absolutely right about every thing you question. I so admire your intellect. News flash - no one gives a r_ts _ SS about my opinion regarding percentages. Let's see how our leaders handle this crisis. Good night.
This administration ENCOURAGES freeloading to maintain their base. The democrat base if full of freeloaders that depend on income redistribution as their sole source of income.
Here is a prime example -
Holder Launches Witch Hunt Against Biased Banks
In what could be a repeat of the easy-lending cycle that led to the housing crisis, the Justice Department has asked several banks to relax their mortgage underwriting standards and approve loans for minorities with poor credit as part of a new crackdown on alleged discrimination, according to court documents reviewed by IBD.
Note that there has been no proof, only "alleged" discrimination.
Prosecutions have already generated more than $20 million in loan set-asides and other subsidies from banks that have settled out of court rather than battle the federal government and risk being branded racist. An additional 60 banks are under investigation, a DOJ spokeswoman says.
No Job, No Problem
Settlements include setting aside prime-rate mortgages for low-income blacks and Hispanics with blemished credit and even counting "public assistance" as valid income in mortgage applications.
This is pure extortion from the banana republic, dictitorial administration that is the Obama administration. It's more of the same with this president - he and his minions are repeating the same thing that previous democrats did that caused the housing debacle.
Not that it has been all that great in the recent when you had the worst of the worst like Ed Meese and Janet Reno as Attorney General, but Holder might have trumped them all with his hyper-political bias.
Going after banks for simply not opening a brick and mortar branch in certain lousy areas as "racism" is ludicrous, and totally ignores lessons that were supposed to have been learned very recently about stupid lending practices. Here, it's an assault on common sense under the guise of "racism."
What's next.....is Holder and his JUstice flunkies going to attack major grocery chains like Kroger or Publix if they don't open in a desolate area of poverty? Maybe Neiman-Marcus gets hauled into court for refusing to build a store on Stewart Avenue...err...."Metropolitan Parkway."
Afraid you made the case pretty good about racism!
Stores that do National business must obey National laws!
I didn't realize that the only poor people who live in cesspool areas were black. All along I thought the statistics showed the significant majority of the people happen to be "white."
There are no "national laws" that dictate where businesses MUST locate, even banks, until now that is where the Justice Dept is attempting to make a de facto regulation that has never existed by claiming that a bank that doesn't open a branch in a certain area is actually discriminating or redlining.
Just ignore him for a few days and he'll reappear as someone new.
Then just ignore him altogether.
I have resisted for a long time in responding to anything he drools, but lost control this evening I guess and had a knee-jerk reaction. It won't happen again :)
This is the most hyper partisan political machine since Woodrow Wilson and I hate that guy.
What the hell is happening and how can this come to be???????????? If Obama and his merry band of socialist continue down this path he'll imploded in 2012.
has been quite clear. Under his leadership, there will be no cooperating with the Obama administration. From his mouth to the independents ear. No new taxes is the theme song of today's Republican Party - and even if needed to reduce the deficit, they're going to stick to that mantra and not pay our bills! Fiscal conservatism at it's finest!
has been quite clear. Under his leadership, there will be no cooperating with Republicans. From his mouth to the the far lefts ear. New taxes in the name of economic "fairness" is the theme song the liberal, socialist left - not to reduce the deficit, but for "fairness" as almost 50% of the population pays zero Federal Income Tax. they're going to stick to that mantra to score political points, all the while increasing salaries Government salaries by 50% or more! Racist socialism at it's finest!
Changing the pronouns in an article is so transparent. Nice try. But when you don't have a cogent argument, it's the best you can do I guess. If Obama caved, and gave this Republican Party what they appear to be asking for, it still wouldn't get through Congress. There has to be compromise - and that has become a foreign concept to the Republicsn leadership. I hope this sideshow continues - for the voting public is waking up.
50% of the population pays zero Federal Income Tax.
Most of that 50% includes the unemployed middle class that is watching how some politicians in both parties are ignoring their current plight with the 'no new taxes' mantra - ignoring that today they have no income to tax.
"In 2009, roughly 47% of households, or 71 million, will not owe any federal income tax, according to estimates by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center." CNNMoney
AS Joe would say. They don't have no skin in the game.
The some remarks from our Congressional leadership.
“After years of discussions and months of negotiations, I have little question that as long as this president is in the Oval Office a real solution is probably unattainable,” – Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, on the Senate floor.
“Where’s the president’s plan? When’s he going to lay his cards on the table?” Boehner asked. “This debt-limit increase is his problem and I think it’s time for him to lead by putting his plan on the table, something that the Congress can pass.” - House Speaker John Boehner
Rep. Renee Ellmers (R., N.C) said the “”job creators” from the U.S. small business community, “don’t have their hand out they don’t want a bailout. All they ask us to do is get government out of the way. Uncertainty, burdensome regulations and the fear of higher taxes are making it harder to create jobs and stay afloat.”
“Why is it right to increase our nation's dependence on foreign creditors?” Reid said on March 16, 2006. “Democrats won't be making an argument to support this legalization, which will weaken our country.”
Oops, here's what he said on April 15th this year!
“I shouldn’t have done that. I’m kinda embarrassed I did. It was a political maneuver by we Democrats. The Republicans were in power – there were more of them,” Reid said. “The president voted when he was in the Senate the same way. I heard him apologize for it. We all should take a look at how we handle these issues, but that doesn’t take into consideration the numerous times, the numerous times I voted to raise the debt ceiling. The one time I tried to make a political issue of it, I wish I hadn’t."
And from the President?
“We need to do what’s necessary to grow our economy; create good, middle-class jobs; and make it possible for all Americans to pursue their dreams,” Obama said. “That means giving our kids the best education in the world so they have the knowledge and skills to succeed in this economy. It means rebuilding our crumbling roads, railways, and runways. And it means investing in the cutting-edge research and technologies that will spur growth in the years ahead — from clean energy to advanced manufacturing.” - President Obama on Saturday Radio Address.
Implicit in the President’s statement is that the government is in the best position to have a vision of our future and make these investments, not private enterprise or the free market based on consumer needs and wants.
2.3 million more citizens are looking for a job than when Mr. Obama took office.
The national debt has increased during Mr. Obama’s administration at a rate never seen in US history.
Currently the debt is over 14 trillion dollars and threatens our way of life.
The results speak for themselves.
Arsonists playing with fire.
To simplify all of the rhetoric (untrue) you spouted, I will sum it up simply:
Reagan and Bush jr. went over budget twelve trillion of the 14 trillion deficit! (while in the office of the President). They vetoed nothing.
Obama came into office in January 2008, with the country on the very edge of a Great Depression. All that due primarily to the attitude the Bush administration had about regulations for banks and money handlers. Hands off entirely.
Put honey in front of a bear with no bars between him and the honey and he will eat the honey. All of it.
The country was saved from depression, at least temporarily, by Bush bailing out the money handlers, and then Obama the banks and autos--which most has been repaid.
Yes, our way of life is threatened but not by Obama, but by an attitude of let the customer beware!
Hell, even the phone companies are now slamming us with fake charges!
We had to have some kind of jobs for crooks when we lost ours!
I fear the depression is yet to come, not by current actions but of all the credit out there yet with insufficient assets.
There is absolutely no way out now except to continue to bail out the extreme cases of poor management and lack of regulations.
Maybe Saudi Arabia and China will bail us out! Obama's fault---bull---that is like saying no one killed Kaylee!
debt problem thingy.
Have the President call 877 CASH NOW. :-)
I do think the defense department has thousands of old jets, tanks, Humvees. staff vehicles, etc., that they could do without!
I really don't undestand all this hoopdala about a few trillion dollar debt.
We have never worried about it very much before. Congress continues to approve more and more! Even Westmoron!
There you go!!! LOL
I asked the boss' cats (Dumb and Dumber) about that. I think they said "don't do it."
You know, maybe Pallin has two cats. :-)
Can you feel the edge of the cliff crumbling under your feet?
"Citigroup Inc. (C) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) cut their U.S. growth forecasts as the global economy slows and officials struggle to stem Europe’s sovereign-debt crisis.
Gross domestic product will grow 1 percent in the fourth quarter rather than the 2.5 percent previously forecast and 0.5 percent in the first quarter of 2012 instead of 1.5 percent, JPMorgan said in a note e-mailed to clients today. Citigroup cut its 2011 growth forecast to 1.6 percent from 1.7 percent and lowered its projection for next year to 2.1 percent from 2.7 percent, according to a note to clients dated yesterday."Bloomberg
That sound you are hearing is the thud of the bottom dropping out from under the Economy.
A double dip recession aka Obamassion is a near certainty. Admist all this great economic news are the calls from the Progressive caucus to keep that thottle wide open on the debt train.
When will they learn?
"When Barack Obama took the oath of office twice on Jan. 20, 2009, CBS' amazing number cruncher Mark Knoller reports, the national debt was $10,626,000,000,000.
That means the debt that our federal government owes a whole lot of somebodies including China has increased $4,247,000,000,000 in just 945 days. That's the fastest increase under any president ever." LA Times.
Even LA knows it's the Economy STUPID
OofU, I don’t know what your gloating about? It takes a lot of money to clean up the mess after a GOP administration.
We are headed for a double dip or worse and you jest.
Tells me this is what you wanted. You must have been an exceptional student of Cloward and Piven.
once again, you fail to address the main issue--why would the FAA pop for $15Mil to help Henry Co buy that airfield & adjoining property? If you can't handle that, just don't bother to reply.
