What the h... do we need with a "chic?"
They are all too old to be called chics anyway.
What might be helpful would be a disabled, female Eskimo "lady," who went to Harvard and Oxford.
(not on scholarships, but on family money!)
I think if that Arizona Governor would give it consideration to run, she could outdraw Governor Deal---especially from the minority races.
She might even allow localities to sell alcohol on Sundays and not get blamed for it!
Who is this fellow Uncle Cain, anyway? Is he a relative of that new black FOX contributor, Williams?
I find it difficult to think that the GOP is as dumb as all that!
Romney isn't "qualified" in foreign relations, is he? He inherited a zillion and ran a business for awhile and was Governor of Massachusetts where he proceeded to supervise health insurance for everyone. He is a Mormon and that will make a lot of southerners just not vote at all. The Mormons are totally strange to Baptists and fundamentalists.
There are conservatives out there who could win however, if they dropped the impossible wishes such as eliminating Social Security, destroying the universal health plan, and extending the Bush tax cuts for corporations and others. (not to mention wanting troops in a half dozen other countries immediately).
I think someone will appear for the GOP.
Many of those eligible conservatives however do not want anything to do with the current conservative bunch now in Washington, nor any of the radicals such as the TEAS (scores of parties).
If a few of the current conservatives in Washington were to reverse their impossible thinking and agree to back a new candidate with a moderate platform, they could have a chance.
You included a few more than I did a couple of weeks ago when I ran down the list, but I didn't want to insult anyone by mentioning complete losers like Rick Santorum.
Mitch Daniels might make some noise as the "alternative to Romney." That's the ground that Tim Pawlenty hopes to claim, but I'm not sold on Pawlenty's chances.
I don't think Ron Paul runs again but he'd be an interesting VP. He sits out because in 2016 I see his son Rand definitely running. I'm not so sure Rand will even wait a few more years, but he ought to. He might be competing against Marco Rubio then, who could be formidable.
Now that Obama has released his long form birth certificate, Trump may decide not to run.
Or, more likely, he shoots up in the Republican polls as the Party leader who successfully forced Obama to release the document.
Donald Trump was asked last month as to when he would release his tax returns. He replied he would do so "just as soon as President Obama releases his long form birth certificate"!
He was made out to be a real ass today!
because he's a genuine, real, sincere person who cares about the country. A few rough edges perhaps, but that's better than the current President reading what Bill Ayers wrote on his teleprompter.
I doubt Trump will actually run, but he will sure get some publicity before he withdraws. Be better if the other Republicans had his personality - or any personality. This is textbook how to attack an opponent and Obama took the bait and now he's in over his head and Trump will keep it up on some other issue and Obama will be playing defense from now on. Next topic is who actually wrote Obama's book.
I agree with you mudcat. Without Trump we would have never seen Obama's birth certificate. Now Trump has shown that he can force an issue. I hope he does run.
Obama released his birth certificate years ago. A certified, embossed, legal document from the State of Hawaii accepted by every state and the federal government.
I hope Trump runs too.
You won’t be surprised that that is not the way the Dems see it. Trump is a gadfly who will probably not run and would never get elected. His birther platform, which he doesn’t believe for a minute, is a sham to dupe the gullible base. He looks to those outside the TEA base to be some kind of nut and the Dems delight in making him out as the face of the Republican Party. Obama releasing his birth certificate boost Trump even more, elevates the clown aspect of the Party making it easier to ridicule the whole Party, and makes it even harder for the lesser known candidates to gain any press with all the attention turned on Trump.
The primaries are in seven months. The Republican candidates are way behind the curve already. Building up Trump (before he decides not to run) detracts from the real issues and gives the Dems another avenue to present the Republican Party as overrun by delusional, conspiracy theory driven loons for whom facts are not relevant.
Obama says we don’t have time for this “silliness”. But now every candidate is going to have to respond to the new birth certificate disclosure. Obama will sadly shake his head and will be portrayed in the press as the adult in the group grappling with real issues while the Republicans squabble about the even more irrelevant “who wrote the book” issue. From there to demanding release of those college transcripts.
He could have released the birth certificate anytime so why now? He knew he had it and he knew what it said. Obama is playing Trump and the Republicans like a violin.
As you point out JeffC, Obama could have released this anytime he wanted to since it is obvious he had the thing, but instead he uses Trump's crusade as part of his campaign to be reelected - you know the one that started on inauguration day.
Playing Trump like a violin is not hard, but should the President of the United States lower himself to this? Our very own Nero should have some more important issues to tackle, but today he diddled Trump and then taped a segment for Oprah - in Chicago! Is that what we want our President to be doing?
I must point out that the last time we had a straight talking hardnose successful businessman on the national stage it was Ross Perot who took away enough Bush I voters to give us Clinton. As bad as that was, it pales in comparison to an Obama second term because if Obama has a clear lead going into the election his coattails will keep Republicans out of a majority in the Senate and that would be real serious. Obamacare would survive, although the country would not.
The fox couldn't reach the grapes but he said they were sour anyway and he didn't really want any!
Then the fox told Oprah that Obama didn't go to Harvard at all since he won't show him his grades and degrees!
Trump, and possibly Al Sharpton running for President in the Alabama primaries, along with Haley Barbour considering running for Washington, DC Mayor, is as stupid as you saying President Obama took Trump's bait!
Trump wouldn't know what bait was if he left the NY crooks he deals with! He can't even decide upon a wife as does Newt!
Dishonesty is rampant now in the republican party. They refuse to discuss what to cut for the budget but want Obama to determine that, hoping he will pick something that will get him defeated! If they do propose anything they are careful not to mention the details!
Afraid conservative selfishness has a finally destroyed a good old GOP and disintegrated into such as TEAS by the score, Limbaughs, Hannitys, and 2-4 dumb bimboes.
Donald Trump has fitted himself with long, bowed upwards shoes, a round ball for a nose, and a rainbow-colored reverse Mohawk wig. And he didn't have to. He could have stuck to his economic accomplishments..... He could have focused on tax reform.... but NNNOOOoooooooo. He had to join Orly Tates. ORLY TATES of all people. The woman who was fined for bringing frivolous law suits with her Birther nonsense.
Predicting this day, Trump is trying to switch to an "Affirmitive Action" attack. Now his mantra seems to be that President Obama either didn't really go to Harvard or his grades should have disqualified him somehow.
Yeah. This will be a winner. I wonder if his half children and ex wives can even look at him without laughing. This is true political theater that I imagine the president absolutely can't get enough of.
How exactly would you go about campaigning for the nomination of the Republican Party? Trump has read the tea leaves correctly, assessed the base, and has vaulted into the lead.
I had forgotten that!
Now Trump can move on to the next critical issue in his campaign. Does Obama wear boxers or briefs?
I heard that Obama was asked if he wore boxers or briefs already. His answer: Depends!
LOL! This has been a day for 'laughs'. (I'm just sorry that any American leader has to go through the 'walk of disrespectful humor'). No president that I've read about has been able to escape the 'walk'.
Do we not remember how the libs disrespected him and ridiculed him about everything from his National Guard service (I guess Kenneth found out the right frequency ) to those 6 or 7 words about yellowcake. How he pronounced nuclear.
I guarantee you if Bush had a birth certificate issue (real or imagined) the press would be in full howl at the moon mode. But when it is Obama, they focus on Trump and ridicule him.
I'm just sorry that any American leader has to go through the 'walk of disrespectful humor'). No president that I've read about has been able to escape the 'walk'.
I know you read - it's your comprehension that I question.
Yes, I know you said no President has escaped it - which means all have experienced it, but Bush was trying to unite the country and mispoke a few words and gets hammered. Obama is trying to ruin the country and he gets a virtual pass.
The difference is that when Bush was subject to the lunatic fringe's accusations from the Truthers, the Democrats denounced them. When Obama is attacked by the lunatic fringe, they are embraced by the Republican leadership. In fact, they are the Republican leadership.
Let's not forget that Obama released his legal, embossed, certified, official birth certificate three years ago and it was vouched for by Hawaii state officials.
I must have missed that one. CBS Anchortruther gets caught red-handed lying about forged documents that were false (but might have been true) and loses lucrative job. And the Dems denounced that? Naw.
The Dems were the ones running around saying even though the documents were forged, what they said was true. Couldn't prove it, but they want it to be true, so it is.
I do believe it was right about then that people stopped watching the network news shows in droves.
I also see lots of sensible people Republicans and Democrats and others denouncing this birth certificate thing as a huge non-issue. Which it is.
Who cares about Dan Rather? Name one elected Democratic official that sided with the Truthers. There are none.
The reason this is not a non-issue is that so many Republican officials embraced it and the Republican Party's television network constantly played it up as did the Republican Party's network of talk radio commentators. 45% of Republicans believe Obama is not a US citizen in spite of having zero evidence supporting that view and overwhelming evidence to the contrary. This is mainstream Republicanism and the leaders wouldn't denounce it because they were afraid of antagonizing their base.
Like Jonathan Swift said, "you cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into."
I know for a fact that Rush, Beck, and Medved said that the whole thing was ridiculous long before Obumbles produced the long form.
for as long as I can remember. It's the policies that have most fired up.
That said, Trump sure did get under the POTUS's skin.
...what "controversy" is the leftist media going to make up to keep people from talking about the real issues? Maybe they can get The Donald to start talking about Barry's big ears. Those things are like speed brakes!
"...what "controversy" is the leftist media going to make up to keep people from talking about the real issues?"
I love how YOU GUYS; *conservatives push a ridiculous issue, and then when you are made to look foolish, you say, "What issue will leftists make next?" Your leading GOP presidential candidate pushed this Birther crap, and you blame the press for reporting his words? Won't work for you in life or politics. "How dare you write down the words I said."
Ridiculous approach to a ridiculous *conservative-generated non-controversy.
You would defend a killer dog who bit 20 people in the same day--all children--if he was one of "yours!"
Limbaugh turned neatly on a dime yesterday and announced that he'd always been against "birtherism", counting on dittotard nation to spread his revisionism.
Media Matters documented no less than seven Limbaugh shows where he fuels the birther hysteria LINK
and a damned good one if income is any judge.
Frankly, I can't tolerate any of the "national guys". I miss the days when Boortz made fun of the Atlanta Mayor.
Yeah, just like Kadhaffi is an entertainer and he has millions also!
Rush didn’t give any credence to the “birther” issue except to ask why Obamarx wouldn’t just put it to bed. The answer of course is that he liked having it out there to detract from the real issues – spending out of control, deficits out of control, a government takeover of healthcare, crappy economy, gas prices, gitmo, Libya, Syria, etc.
Read your own stupid link, sniffy. It says nothing.
Maxipad, these past 24 hours must've been terrible for a birther such as yourself. I understand your need to lash out.
I wouldn't worry, I'm sure hate radio will gin up another nontroversy against President Obama real soon.
Accuse everyone of having been a birther.
Don't want to let it go and have the focus shift to everything that this progressive/liberal/socialist/statist/marxist, whatever you want to call him, is doing to the country.
Did you see on MMFA where Rush said the birth certificate was a forgery?
bacon Max. He is a 9/11 Truther. He doesn't believe there is any such thing as Islamic Extremist.
He also believes Iran is not a Terrorist State and that Israel is the true perpetrators of terrorism against the Arabic World.
He forgets it was the Democrats/Clinton supporters that started the rumor to begin with. You have to overlook him his memory is going, getting all faulty and such.
btw-Don't go insulting bacons main source of info Media Matters. Between that and Salon he get's all he needs to know.
What will the idiots now want to see of Obama's? Maybe a blood test to see what percentage Negroid he is?
Then they will want to see his school grades (unfalsified) from Indonesia!
Then they will want all records of how much he got in scholarships.
Then how much pot he smoked in England at Cambridge.
Then if he and his wife tried out like the Prince and Princess Windsor!
Then...................actually we don't want him for some reason do we?
Birther talk radio commentators: Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Bill Cunningham, Rusty Humphries, Gordon Liddy, Brian Sussman, Bob Grant, and Michael Savage to name a few.
Barney Frank and David Worley. I am not positive, but think that Maxine Waters chimed in on that issue as well.
Although I must say, Barney Frank is a little odd. LOL. You graciously gave him to me. Would you like to have him back?
Saying Barney Frank is a little odd is like saying we had a little bit of rain the other night.
......are scrambling like flies to cover-up your stupid "birther" crap.
Just makes you look more stupid and unpatriotic!
Talk about real issues...health, retirement, taxes, wars! You sound like Sling Blade talking about "births!" It is all you know, I guess!
I knew I had seen roundabout in a movie.
I dont care who ya are.
Quick side bar. Are you going to change to G37 dude? My sis got one and except for its lack of a usable trunk (can't even stash a dead body in there), it is silky smooth and quick. And how about these gems:
Audi TT Quattro RS (sweet sweet machine)
BMW 1 series M (They made a great car even more gooder)
And the bullet proof Lexus IS-F (a slightly odd looker, but it smokes tires like Marlboros)
I'm still in the old 35. Will be for a while so I'll keep the handle. It took me all my life to get the 35 so I don't see a 37 in my near future. I do hear good things about them so tell your sis that I'm jealous. As for the other cars you list I don't know much about them other than they'd all look good in my drive way!
I don't understand people who buy foreign autos and also complain about China and Japan, and Euro!
The Corvette, Camaro, etc., will also "burn rubber," if you must have such!
Who are you showing off for anyway? Do you have a "need?"
My need is to purchase the car that I want. If I were to purchase an American auto it would be a Ford. The only auto maker that didn't sell out and take Obama's bail out money. But I guess you'd only be happy if I bought the Mexican made "American" product?
Well I think the G series is an Infiniti, and that is a Nissan, and that is a Japanese Auto!
I feel about them as did my uncle about Volkswagens after he got three purple hearts courtesy of the Germans; I remember Iwo Jima, also, and a cousin of mine!
Ever hear of the Battan Death March? Korean women stolen for the troops?
Now the Atomic Plants catastrophe?
They even have an Emperor! Strange people yet.
Get a Mustang!
LOL Actually my other car is a Mustang!!!!! And it's been a great car. Still when I decide to purchase my next vehicle I don't think I'll give a rats azz what you want me to buy.
No, Trump said first he had to personally see the birth certificate and then have it verified by his people and a lot of others. He hoped it was real.
Then he said, he wanted to see President Obamas school records and grades. He said he "heard" where he didn't do so well and he wondered how he got into Harvard and headed the "Law review!"
I suppose next Trump will say that there is a grand conspiracy since he was born as a Muslim In Kenya and was programmed then to become President and stir up the world.
Man, I thought the TEAS were "nuts!"
Did you know Paul will be about 90 when he gets out of office in eight years? (If he wins). Maybe Trump would be better. Let's work for Trump as the Republican candidate?
Maybe the crazies can now find legitimate issues to get obsessed over. Nahhh....they lack the intellect of a Dorito, so they'll keep tilting at windmills while adorned in their aluminum foil hatwear.
I couldn't believe Obama's birth certificate showed his real father was Ron Paul!!! This changes everything. :)
We ALL have ADAM of God as our 1096 Grandfather!
Some on here are probably from the land of NOD!
Maybe the crazies can now find legitimate issues to get obsessed over. Nahhh....they lack the intellect of a Dorito..
...stop insulting my favorite snack food by comparing them to Republicans.
The crazy right-wingers are still wrestling with the "Obama is a Muslim" meme...that might keep them entertained.
of those you list over the current POTUS. That said, there are only 2-3 serious candidates on your list. They won't all run, and that will upset the liberal media, but that's just the way it is.
I'd take Hillary over the current POTUS......just so you know where I'm coming from. :)
Why is everyone worried about the next Presidential election?
Mr. Obama will win hands down, there is no Republican candidate that can beat him. There is no Republican that wants to be President that will run against him. He has money on his side this cycle.
Now, the Senate there something to talk about. Who will control the Senate? If the Republicans end up with the kind of gains they had in the last election in both the House and Senate and that veto control of the Congress, it won't matter if Mr. Obama is President.
What do you think Jeff about this possibility? I suppose you will say no but I still wonder.
A personal view is that it doesn't matter either way.
Where are all the cowboys and cops when you need them?
He would have been a good candidate for the Republican Party - he and his immediate family.
He seems to be the most down to earth and in tune with the American people.
We can't get rid of Obama soon enough.
He'll do more damage than and new administrations can straighten out in 50 yrs to come if allowed to remain in office.
We are in real trouble.
Cain is a really serious candidate and should resonate with many voters as an honest American, loaded with integrity, personal experiences, and leadership talent--never mind not being elected previously to some office. A Jon Huntsman or Tim Pawlenty and Cain ticket would offer voters great choices. Regretably, don't think Herman has the voter identity or dollar numbers to get the Repub nomination.
Can't possibly make it!
I heard this fellow today announce. Sounds like a black preacher from Georgia spreadin it on! And he will be better with Netanyahooie than President Obama?
The fourth serious trip in a week on AF-1 would have Cain looking for a nice church to sit in.
Updatin' JeffC's list now that Mitch Daniel's wife decided they would not run for president.
Very weak field this year gets even weaker.
And who cares?
Sounds like he's got a smart wife though.
Daniels is Indiana Governor.
You know, for a guy who has a comment on virtually every political thread, I find you surprisingly uninformed sometimes.
Who do you like in 2012, Ron Paul or Grubby Herman?
I suppose that I just can't keep up with all the Republicans that want to run against Mr. Obama, not that I care to keep up with them. All of them will lose against Mr. Obama's massive billion dollar special interest money campaign.
In a way it doesn't matter who I like or don't like. The Republicans will pick their candidate. It's usually the next guy in line and I suppose that it's Romney?
You see for a person like me I am totally left out of the polticial process. Supporting some "fringe" candidate is a lost cause because they aren't the next in line.
So, I stand on my political philosophy. In that regard, and to your relief I suppose, there is no one for me.
The economy is so freakin' awesome ya'll because the ones who drove their car through the front door of the southside F'ville Walgreens are giving away free money from the ATM they took.
After that, they went to the Food Lion on County Line (line of F' County and C' County) and drove their car into so they coud get food for everyone.
Now if that doesn't put a smile on your face, something is wrong with your value system.
"a smile on your face"?
I think they call this looting, we should shoot looters on the spot.
Or the next place they could be smashing into is your home 911inside.
....either qualified or big contributors:
Lamarr Alexander; Lindsey Graham; John Boehner; Eric Cantor; Paul Ryan; Orrin Hatch; Clint Eastwood; Robert Duvall;Bill Engvall; Jeff Foxworthy;
Lee Greenwood; Naomi Judd; Larry The Cable Guy; Dennis Miller; Chuck Norris; Ann Coulter; Sean Hannity; Dr. Phil; Tom Glavine; Bobby Knight; Brett Favre; 95% of republican business men!
Jon Huntsman committed political suicide last evening at a Republican townhall event.
He said that building a fence between Mexico and the United States was a bad idea:
"I hate the thought of a fence on the border. I mean, for me, as an American, the thought of a fence, it to some extent repulses me, because it's not consistent with our overall -- the image that we projected from the very beginning to the rest of the world."
I'm starting to like this guy.
No fence and Ryan's budget is no go!
It may not matter who wins the next election!
This man might be honest.
You failed to mention that he ended with "But the situation is such that I don't think we have any choice." Pretty clear he favors SOME FORM of SECURING our border to prevent illegal immigration.
