I have for years spoken of the coming economic collapse of America. Ever since we lost the battle over Government spending and growth I have been increasingly sure that a collapse of the dollar was in our future. I had always assumed that my future Grandkids will be the ones to have to deal with this. Then a few years ago I realized that neither my Grandkids nor Children will have to deal with this, that in fact, it will be us, the Generation that created the problem. This of course is as it should be, but this has not ever been the precedent.

I stated that there are those that want America to collapse, both domestic and abroad. These people for whatever reason see America either as an abhorrent aberration of human existence or see it as a Capitalistic society bent on World domination. Both want the current version of America destroyed and re-built into a friendlier World partner not unlike a domestic partner without fringe benefits.

It really is simple to accomplish the goals they want. All they need is Chaos. Worldwide instability that will threaten our economic life’s blood-OIL. Why oil? Well without it, all of our machines stop. We are a society built on our technology, our engines if you were. If the flow of oil is curtailed or interrupted much of our economy will grind to a halt. What would happen if you were told tomorrow to not come to work because it no longer could open? What would happen if you went to the grocery store and there was no food because the trucks couldn’t run? What would happen if they told you it might be forever?

Here are but two examples from Georgia of a TEMPORARY breakdown in the supply chain. There are others. One was ONLY a rumor and there was no supply shortage, but the belief there was one caused a shortage anyway. Now what if it was indeed real?

Now how does this attack on the oil producing Nations threaten us? Well again going back to the aforementioned article I related the story of the Venezuelan government taken over farms and giving the farms to the “People”. The “People” killed the ones that knew how to farm. The predictable results were starvation. The same sort of thing happened in Africa when we ended Apartheid. Those that knew how to run the Government and the production of food were removed and in their place were those that never had the responsibility for doing so. Another predicable result. While we were basking in the glow and warmth of feel good diplomacy Africans starved to death and we let them.(Yes-Apartheid was evil so no grief on this please it’s not the point)

In the Middle East the “Worker” is replacing the Engineer. So who is going to run the infrastructure of oil production? Most are already leaving if not already gone. Japan is going to be needing oil now to replace their Nuclear power; Europe is going to need to replace the oil lost from Libya. Egypt’s oil production could very soon be curtailed. The US is looking at stopping Nuclear power plants and may take them off-line.

We now have a 7 year moratorium on oil drilling off both coast, the Gulf, the Mid West and Alaska. What do we have to replace it? Solar, Wind, Geo-Thermal anything? There are promising things on the horizon but today or tomorrow and next week there is only oil. Oh we can spend $2 billion for Petrobras Brazil to drill oil in our waters. So they can send the oil to China. We just can’t do it or have it.

We have enemies. I know shocking right? While we are very well protected from Armies and even invasions we are at risk because we have a blind spot where our economy is concerned. We believe it will all just continue going up and all will be well. The Housing bubble and Finance bubble have taught us nothing. We believe we can continue to spend with no consequences.
There is an old saying “Give them enough rope” well you know the rest of that one I am sure. We are being given that rope at some point we are going to reach the knot what happens next always ends with a short fall at the end of that rope.
