Government Union Collective Bargaining 101
Government Union Collective Bargaining 101
52% of all Union members now work for the U.S. government. It is time to return the power back to the hard working taxpayers that pay these inflated salaries and pensions against their will.
Everything that is wrong with public sector unions in 30 seconds
This is the central problem with public sector unions. They get to use taxpayer money to elect their bosses and they get to use taxpayer money to convince their bosses to give them more taxpayer money
Yet another installment of Kawfi/Observerofu's Union Pension Envy....
Worth repeating - The revised 2011 version of the Grasshopper and the Ants:
The grasshopper, whose name was "rugged individualism", laughed and played all summer long while the Union Ants worked together to build a thriving mound. Mr. Rugged Individualism mocked them mercilessly, braggin' about how much more money he made than those pathetic worker ants. HAW HAW HAW!
Then Autumn came and the weather turned bad. Mr. Rugged Individual lost his high payin' job and his benefits. He looked at the quiet ant mound, whose workers kept working diligently, and he seethed with self-righteous anger.
"It's fall!" he shrieked. "I now have to suffer....why aren't those damned Ants suffering along like the rest of us Grasshoppers? IT'S NOT FAIR! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I'm a retired public employee and maintain my support for my union so that I have someone to fight for my income protection at times like these. Although as a union we always seemed to back the Democratic candidates, but as an individual taxpayer I prefer the Republicans. The Democratic party was usually sympathetic to our needs as employees and the Republicans sympathized with our needs for lower taxes and less government as taxpayers.
That's been the case for many years. Seeing as you realize that, surely you must know that's the reason Repubs are generally anti-union. You get props for putting it out front--most Union members won't do that.
None of us can afford to allow any one group to have too much of what they want or they will take advantage of their position and become tyrants.
Sounds like you don't really trust anybody---not a good feeling, is it?
is the TAXPAYER. When do we get to sit down at the Collective bargaining table since we are the ones paying the bills?
