Highway 74 Driving Foolishness

I must comment on the foolishness that I see from drivers on Highway 74. Notably turning right from Crosstown west bound to Highway 74 northbound: This is where two northbound lanes become three and there is a solid white line to allow for drivers from Crosstown to turning right on a "yield" sign. Legally there should be no traffic turning into that lane save from Crosstown and thus it should be unimpeded. Invariably I see the Crosstown driver do a complete stop there at the intersection, wait for traffic to clear and then turn into the lane and then immediately cross the solid white line to go over to the middle or far left lane of northbound traffic. This is known as failure to follow a traffic control device and also makes the violator look like an idiot. Rules of the road people!
Also where Highway 74 exits onto I85 northbound I see additional foolishness. There are two lanes that turn right when the light is green. Once on the lighway ramp, the two lanes eventually merge into the left lane and then onto I85. Consistently, I see a driver swerve dangerously into the right most lane, only to swerve dangerously back into the left lane once on the ramp. It is very simple to maintain your lane, go through the green light and merge in a sensible manner. But alas, the roads are filled with people of Bonker's mentality and we get what we get. Okay rant is over :)

wedge??

OK, I'm going to put you on the first page of this forum with a comment. (only way it will make it there).

Mentality of Bonkers you say? I'll bet you say the same thing about roundabout also?

You are right about your ranting.

All are idiots except you, and drive like fools! I can't even follow what you said about Crosstown, and the two lanes onto I85 off 74 aren't marked as arrow right also.
The "idiots" as you say, run past the right lane cars, then swerve into the right lane to get ahead of the line in the right lane. Selfish "dodos." They do the same thing coming home on I85 at the exit to 74---pass everyone on the through-way lanes and steal into the head of the line right at the exit!

I'll bet you do that!

Of course some of them are from out of town and don't know any better.

Wedge and clarity

Your description of the issues seemed pretty straight forward to me. Both situations happen routinely. As an aside isn't it nice to have Bonkie$ to use as a prime example? Of course I'd never say that about round.

Thank you very much. I didn't think you meant me.

Oh Bonky Roundabout!

I am sorry if you cannot seem to understand simple prose. It is not as flowery as some of the tripe and sonnets that you do, but oh well. I am not surprised that you would want to cast me in a bad light as a lout. No matter, to know me is to love me :)
However, it is so easy to see you as that elderly shoplifter that one can find in many stores. Stuff just happens to fall into your bag. You hobble out of stores with batteries in the waist band of your slightly dingy underwear. Thank you for playing. No rejoiners, though. How sad

SONNET on simple prose and tripe

The Supremes, 8-1 said free speech can not be bound.
Yet, not to my surprise, it happens here every day.
In spite of a ruling we have courts void of sound.
Oh, but I am told "that is different" you do say.

Things being different makes life worth good living,
If all had their way all of the time, Babel would incur.
The sounds of the earth would be louder than bee hiving.
So differences we must have, they must continue to recur.

The earth wasn't made for barter or gold or even a test.
But it seems to me only to forge out our lack of heart.
Tear down a bird's nest and it will rebuild without rest,
Take a man's money or gold and he will make you depart.

When he lies in that coffin or urn, turned to carbon,
It makes no difference as to his measurement as a son.

Thank you for the sonnet

Although I am uncertain as to the pertinence of this to the topic of driving, nevertheless this works as a sonnet.

It's not that I couldn't attempt to explain a Sonnet, it is just that the explanation would be 3-4 times as long as the Sonnet!

No one who ever wrote a good or bad Sonnet ever explains it. To do so opens the total meaning up for argument. All must either get something or not.

I will say that it applies to your driving and other comments. How? You decide.
