Anyone been to the new Italian place behind Kobe in PTC?
We didn't think it was so hot...very pricey for loudy and very bright lighting, no ambiance and the pasta was very undercooked, not el dente like they claimed. Maybe lunch is better?
Does this place have a name? Would someone share it if it does?
If it's the place I'm thinking of it's small and more of a sandwich-pizza place. Borgo Italia
What is a KOBE?
I declare, opening a new restaurant is similar to setting out sugar to attract flies--they swarm in for 30 days and then relapse!
I don't know what they are looking for though, the humans, the flies just want sugar!
Hey, Fayetteville opens up a new one in an old one nearly every month! Better check them all out.
It is the old story: cooks think their food only will bring in crowds but they don't know doodly about management! You mean I need cash to operate for a while? These delivery people want cash when delivered? I have to pay all of the utility bills every single month? I have to fill out all kind of forms and hire only legals? I have to keep up with SS deductions and pay unemployment insurance? The place has to be scrubbed every day? I can't throw the ice dipper into the ice? What am I going to do with it? These old refrigerators and coolers all leak at the seals---I have to fix that?
I can't turn each of my four tables 30 times a day to even pay the rent?
Hey, my food tastes good! Darn, there is an insurance bill in the mail--and a sales tax inspector is coming!
Oh, that's not new and it's called "Fresh Deli and Grocery" --been there & have one of their menus. Not really a Restaurant.
I was talking about the Italian Deli place. They have several entrees and appetizers now. I'm not sure if it's a new thing or not, but it was good food. I went there about 2 weeks ago.
What a great addition to PTC. AUTHENTIC Italian food. As for being pricey, their prices are much lower than the chain Italian restaurants. All of their products are from Italy not from distributors owned by people of Italian decent. The pizzas are wonderful and the girl up front who apparently is of no relation after asking them is a wonderful help. THe food at dinner does take a little longer than chain places but given that the pastas are fresh and never precooked, its a welcome wait.
Where you bin anyway? Thanks for the report on Borgo--stopped in not long after they opened and just got some croissants & proscuito to go. Might have to return & try a pizza. Don't guess they do Frappes do they?

They don't do Frappes, but they do the traditional cappucinos and espressos...no added flavors. Their pizzas are the real deal thin crust, fresh ingredients too. Nice place to grab some coffee, sit and read their Italy books and have some great pasta dishes too. May be going there for dinner this weekend
I've been there for dinner and thought the food was great. The dining room was a little quaint, but the food was way better than some of the other Italian places in town.
