Don't worry, just to make it fair they are giving out waivers to their cronies: http://americaswatchtower.com/2010/11/15/the-obama-administration-issues... Vore the crooks out. -GP

Your comment about 'reading' the bill - and you were unaware of the offer to maintain the tax cuts for 98% of the American citizens. I think we all need to 'read' for ourselves how various proposals will affect our families and communities before we take someone else's word for what any 'bill' or proposal contains.

I expect the legislators we elect to represent us to read what they're voting on prior to the vote--don't you? And where do you read that I didn't know about the proposal to retain some of the current tax rates?

Not too long ago you asked the question about my comment on Obama's proposal - stating that you hadn't heard about the offer to extend tax cuts for those making less than $250,000.

Still think you've confused me with someone else--or I'm having a senior moment--I don't recall making any such comment.

I expect them to know what is in most bills--not "read" them all. Just reading it is usually not very informative anyway--it has to be researched.
They have huge qualified staffs to read and interpret long bills (such as a tax bill of thousands of complicated pages).

Also, when a bill is brought up quickly to vote upon doesn't mean that a congressman doesn't know what is in it. That stuff is around congress in one form or another for a long time.

They can also ask a fellow congressman or his staff what to do!

I heard a lot of that junk about "reading" bills for a year or so--it is just a way of saying they don't care what is in them, when you don't know.

That is assuming they vote differently than you would have wished. If you like the bill you don't care who read it!

It is like Sonny Bono of Sonny & Cher TV fame said when elected to congress from California:
"I had no idea how hard this job was before I got here." "It is serious business and more to do than any one person can possibly do." He also talked about how one is impressed by the statues and halls as one walks through them convinced him that he MUST do all that he could for his voters and others.

However the longer some are there the more corrupt they get.

More Big Companies, Unions Win Health Care Waivers

"The Obama administration has allowed 222 employers, insurers and unions to opt out of a key mandate in the new health care law – a number that has grown exponentially in the past two months."

http://www.hhs.gov/ociio/regulations/approved_applications_for_waiver.html

"The list has grown significantly since October, when 30 companies had waivers, and has doubled since early November. Taken together, the companies cover more than 1.5 million people, including 34 unions with more than 140,000 members."

Obamacare was supposed to be so good for everyone why is it many are opting out?
