At least that is how the New York Times bills it.
Imagine Americans fighting Americans over Faith, Hope, Charity and Honor. This is 2010 right?

It seems that on 10-2-10 this Saturday some 300 groups are holding a Rally at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to take back America. Now I have to ask take it back from who or what? If this is a Anti-Honor rally then why is having Honor or wanting to restore it bad? I guess however the current political climate is that now unless you are a sponsored Special Interest you should just sit down and shut up.
That is why when on 8-28-10 the Restoring Honor event was so denigrated by the Media and the Government. They simply do not understand what a true “Grassroots” movement the Teaparty truly is. Progressives have to try to explain it away as being bought out or sponsored by Fox or other Rich Conservatives. They function under similar controls so they have to attribute the same type of control to the Teaparty.
On 8-28-10 more than 500,000 people came by Car, Bus, Train and Plane to Washington. No not for a political rally or a Concert, but for a gathering. A gathering of Families searching for something that America has lost. A spiritual renewal as it where.

Now that gathering is being mocked by well just about everybody. We all are being called everything from Klansman wannabes to Nazis and whackos. But undeniably we are individuals dancing to our on tune.

Now comes 10-2-10 the Progressives answer to Honor.

ACORN, Green for All, the NAACP, the national council of La Raza, Rainbow PUSH, SEIU 1199, SEIU Service Employees, AFL-CIO, Sojourners, the UAW, the United States Students Association, the Communication Workers of America, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the Center for Community Change, the American Federation of Teachers are all going to DC for their March. I wish them well.

I expect there to be at least a Million people there. After all if the Unions can’t get all their workers together on a Saturday what good are they for?
Others joining are International ANSWER a Communist group. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_ANSWER
Chicago Democratic Socialists of America http://chicagodsa.org/
International Socialist Organization- http://internationalsocialist.org/what_we_stand_for.html
Code Pink- A virulent anti-Military group best known for harassing Marines as they came back from Iraq.
Color of Change- The Van Jones group dedicated to Social Justice and Socialism in America
Trinity United Foundation-Jeremiah Wright and the Liberation Theology group. http://www.knology.net/~bilrum/libtheo.htm

Communist Party USA- Go to CPUSA.com for more information on the 10-2-10 rally. Yes they too are sponsors.

Here are a few others:

Ya-Ya Network, Progressive Congress Action Fund, Progressive Democrats of America, Progressive Democrats, Queers For Economic Justice, the Planned Parenthood and a whole host of other fringe left groups from every dark corner in our Society.

Yes, I believe The NYT had it right. This is an Anti-Honor rally. The Administration is supporting this march as well. Organizing for America, Obama’s group is pushing hard for this urging every “group” to come out now and take to the streets.

What do most of these groups have in common? A hatred for the Military. A Hatred for any forms of Patriotism. http://www.onenationforpeace.org/ Look at the groups supporting the rally and coming to DC. Look them up and see where they stand. Do they represent you?

Many of these groups have been responsible for some of the worst attacks on our Constitution and our Individual rights. These are the groups this administration says represents what America really is.
Has America turned into a Socialist Country? Do our individual rights mean so little? Take a good long hard look at the rally this weekend. See who the Government says is the true America and decide.

It’s time to choose sides. You will either stand with the Teaparty, not as a member per se, but with our ideals of Smaller Government, Lower spending and Taxes or you can stand with the Marxist, Socialist and Communist many already in our Government. But it is past time for sitting on the fence. Are you the American the Administration thinks you are or not.

It is your Choice.

Birds of a feather

This is the liberal democrat party. This rally and the groups showing up represent Obama's base. Nothing but a bunch of left-wing wackos that want to destroy our great country.

This is still America right? I 'm not so sure anymore.

The author of a Coloring book for children is receiving Death threats for his coloring book.

Is it Muslims, threating a fatwa against him?

Was it a coloring book about Mohammad?

No to both. The threats are coming from the Progressive left. Oh what was the coloring book? It was a coloring book about the Tea Party and the Constitution.
This same author has done a Obama the President coloring book as well. He received no Death Threats from the Right on that one.

Just another example of just who is really the extremist among us. Gort on this blog called the Tea Party a "Angry Mob". Like I asked him/her how many arrest has been made at any Tea Party event?

You want to see the real radicals. Watch the 10-2-10 event this weekend. I wonder if the media will be out in the crowd looking for "radical signs" from these people? Even if they did they would probably not find many since
the signs are being professionally made up and downloaded from the One Nation site.

You are correct, I did say, “Angry Mob.” But an “Angry Mob” is not the same thing as a “Violent Mob” and I don’t think it’s against the law to be angry. Do you?

In the public schools I attended, we learned the difference between the words ‘angry’ and ‘violent.’

Tell me, in that fancy prep school that you attended, did you get in on merit or were you a legacy student? Did you go out for the cheerleading squad and wear a big ‘A’ on your sweater?

Just trying to establish

a common thread. You progressives all hate what the Tea Party stands for. I have no issues with that. I hate what you stand for.

I think however our vision for Government is closer to the Founders than yours. It looks like America is going to agree with us on that one.

I am not sure what events you have been to, but I have been to several and have yet to find this angry "Mob". Angry Americans yes, angry voters well we shall see in November won't we?

A rally for those on the government dole should attract a lot more than a million in the geographical center of the entitlement world. If it is less than a million it's a failure.

Oh really? Sort of interesting that the terms "anti honor and rally" return zero results in the NY Times own search engine. Must be a technical glitch, right?

Real Americans™ like me choose to stand with the other 98% of America who are opposed to the bellicose bigotry of the America-hating Teahadists.

Edited to add:
There's an excellent editorial on CNN today detailing the roots of the Teahadist movement. LINK It seems their newfangled concern over the deficit and fiscal policy are secondary to their primary fear: changing demographics in America.

Would you please show me the results of the data which you state 98% of Americans oppose the Tea Party. The fact is you are wrong. IN fact I am sure you are just lying. Typical response from - free marketan unprincipled America hating progressive.

You can't produce that data because it does not exist. The NYT editorial called it the Anti-Honor and the Anti-Beck rally it was reported by MSNBC ask them.

What would you call it?

Either way it matters not the Progressive Cockroaches will be coming to light Saturday and we will all get to see what you guys look like.

All the good little lefties will be out and mingling. I am sure the Communist and Socialist will mix well with SEIU and Acorn.

btw-this from your site by another blogger like your author.

"You cannot deem someone as an "actual tea partier" based on their money given or the level of their involvement. When polls are taken to determine the demographics for various political parties, general support is the requirement- not the extent of involvement. With the method of association included in the article, could it then be said that most Americans are not actually Americans? Sadly, 46% of Americans do not pay taxes and an astounding 50-60% vote.. Ergo- only the small majority (54%) are true Americans? I would assume that most will agree this method of calculation is inaccurate, and I would agree. The The Tea Partier support should be judged on the amount of Americans that support it ideologically."

And WE LEAD IN ALL POLLS OVER DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS.. So Bacon I guess you have chosen to stand with those making the rally. You should go. I hear the Queers for Economic Justice are looking for a few good men.

I sort of gathered that

He or she may not like the tea Party of that it was obvious. Smaller Government and Lower taxes scare the recipitants among us. They fear their entitlements being cut.

They will always be those of us that produce and others like Bacon that suck at the Government teat.

Being Union as you say would explain a lot. That is all unions are good for now. Government handouts.

Isn't APLPA an union too?

I guess when it is airline pilots being in a union it's OK? FC was built into what it is/was by a lot of airline unionized employees and not just pilots.

I know plenty of ALPA members in FC and they are pretty "conservative" without hating everyone else in a "lesser" union or just randomly doing the hip thing of painting everyone else with the same brush.

Yes they are in a union---one of the biggies. They have a majority of republicans in their group also. They are also known for being conservative in matters of money---not so much in matters of wives. They travel a lot.

They fall into the group who pays more income taxes than the majority of our citizens, so they are against "waste" in Washington, especially for those who get the waste due to making less money!

Those people out of work right now should have taken flying lessons many years ago; however, I doubt there are that many openings for pilots right now. (15,000,000).

Yet, many union members are against unions for others. Laborers should not be allowed to bargain for wages and benefits.

Yet civil servants, teachers, postal employees, still are active.

Coal miners, auto workers, manufacturing workers, and others over-used their unions and were about destroyed over many years.

We never learn any lessons from bad history!

The 65,000 ALPA members is down from the past but they are large among the professionals.
However what I meant and didn't make clear was that they are some of the "highest paid" "workers!"
Less now than a few years ago, however.

We tend to think of unions as coal miners or truck drivers but as far as I am concerned The American Medical Association and others like them have more influence over our economy as a "group" than do so-called unions.

Nuk_1 - I don't understand

your point, unions are special interest groups that look for political favors. For example, GM.

Unions have never, I repeat, never protected one single job of a union member. Union bosses simply line their own pockets at the members and consumers expense.

It doesn't matter if they are pilots, assemblers of autos, electricans, or whatever. The bosses of unions create labor monopolies for their own benefit not their members.

Crispy Bacon is a unionist because he believes in the union "ideal".

"Unions have never, I repeat, never protected one single job of a union member."

Ever seen the process in most states whenever the need to fire a teacher presents itself? Maybe you meant "never saved on union member's job that was worth saving."

I don't think unions are inherently "bad" but many of them suffer from the same problem that the US government does: the elected people at the top lining their own pockets and amassing power at the expense of the members/voters.

A union like ALPA has been responsible for enhanced safety in the cockpit in addition all the wage and benefits they have reaped for its members. Almost all UPS drivers are Teamsters and they would be making about half of what they presently make and working much longer hours and expected to haul 200lb boxes around without the union.

Unions want political clout like any other group out there. It's pretty contagious when those with the clout help shape the rules and those without get hosed.

Nuk_1 - Unions

Sure we can all point to examples where the process of laying people off or outright firing them has been slowed. However, if a company or even a government is faced with dire conditions, unions can't and don't save jobs. Remember PATCO?

The recent example of where jobs have been temporarily "saved" is the government intervention in General Motors. The company has been and continues to be downsized. GM can't compete in the world market for cars because the union members have a strangle hold on pensions and working conditions. GM will go out of business; it's just a matter of time. Therefore, when that happens the union will have caused their members to lose their jobs, not protect them. Remember Eastern Airlines.

We live in a world economy; our workers must compete against workers in China, India, Vietnam, etc. If they don't they will see their jobs exported. Unions simply speed this process up. ALPA may have enhanced safety, but the airlines have an incentive to enhance safety too as do the individuals that pilot their aircraft. We have certainly seen pilots lose their jobs lately, where's the union to save them? UPS drivers "Teamsters" likely should make something less than they make and carry heavier boxes if they want to keep their jobs over the long run.

To me it is simple economics. Unions are a union boss dream, they get to talk a lot and skim the wealth off the member workers. Basically, you can’t have something for nothing, it will always catch up to you.

There you go again! I never said I was either pro-union OR anti-union, you've now ascribed both positions to me (without proof, I might add). The truth is, I am profoundly ambivalent towards unions, I don't have an opinion on them one way or another.

It never ceases to amaze me how people such as yourself have this sad need to define things in binary terms ("pro/anti", "black/white", etc). On many issues there can be serveral shades of grey between black and white. You seem to get very crabby when you find yourself unable to pigeonhole someone.

For the record, I'm not a socialist either, Glenn Beck talking points ("anyone who supports Obama is a Socialist! DERP!") notwithstanding. Why are you so hung up on labelling people? Do you do it in order to get people to play defense? "Oh you're not an ABC, you must be an XYZ! etc etc"

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/27/us/politics/27rally.html?scp=3&sq=one%...

If you were unbiased you could have simply searched the times for one nation rally and you would have found several articles almost all bill it as some sort of anti-tea party or anti-beck.

So who is being dishonest here?

Unless you were in my living room watching what I was watching then you are just spreading manure like bacon.

First you need to check your facts. I did not start here until weeks later after Steve had his run in with the moderator. But I guess facts mean little to you.

Second Steve had issues because the moderator changed his post when he changed it back he objected. It had nothing to do with headlines. Again facts and good story's.

Third I stand by what I wrote. It's a opinion. You seem to have one. Why is it others while expressing theirs you have issue with? Like I told bacon above go to NYT website type in the search for "One Nation Rally" there you will find story after story of in their words Anti-Tea Party and Anti-Beck. Now what do you think it meant?

I NEVER SAID IT WAS A HEADLINE NOR DID I IMITATE THAT IT WAS like I told bacon it was an opinion. You both are being intellectually dishonest.

Obviously you don't like my opinion pieces. Well DON'T READ THEM. It is a free country after all.

now that we have mutually insulted each other what's next. Do we throw our books down, circle each other and start asking each other to hit them first?

Face it the moment you devolved into insults YOU LOST. I guess if you can't argue logically then attacking the messenger is the next best thing.

I gave you the link. I told you where the story originated. I also told you to go the NYT website and search "One Nation Rally". There you will find several story's whose article contains "anti-Teaparty, Anti-beck" wording. I believe it was Rachel Maddow or Chris Mathews while relating the story from the NYT as the anti-restoring honor rally. This is where it originated. It was NOT a headline it was an OPINION.

Just where did I say that the NYT had wrote that story? I said and I quote: "At least that is how the New York Times bills it." It is an OPINION. You do know what that is right? Are you and NUK really this dense? Maybe so. Mathews deemed it "the answer to Glenn Beck's rally" based on the article I link to.

You still wish to argue the point fine. You only do so because you can't argue the fact that:

1. Your Progressive Gods of Ed Shultz and President Obama could not get a crowd to DC that numbered in any way close to the Restoring Honor Crowd.

2. Your Progressive party has decided to link arms with the CPUSA (Communist Party USA), SPUSA (Socialist Party USA) and the Democratic Socialist of America.

You have revealed yourself to be what you really are and the American people was watching. So I thank you .

So..now u have this Tea Party funded by old-line loser Repubs with lots of money who think they sense a change in the political tides and that's "it's cool" to suddenly be in favor of smaller government when the SAME funders were the biggest proponents of BIG GOVERNMENT before. Sounds like a cynical political ploy that needs a little more time to be able to measure results.

I find it totally laughable that there is going to be some kind of big takeover coming up next month.

The Tea Party is like Republican-Lite(with a growing bunch of fundies sticking their ignorance into the mess) and no matter how terrible Congress is and Obama, it's going to be a very close race to see if the Repubs can even take back the House. They have NO chance at the Senate after going big for deadbeat loser Christine O'Donnell, and the House is iffy at best. That's a pretty pathetic picture when a lot of voters cannot stand the Dems but aren't also impressed much with the Repubs or TP.

After what this country has gone through with Obama and the Dem congress, it';s pretty remarkable that the Repubs have buried themselves so much with their own stupidity for years that even taking over one chamber of government in an "off-year" is still unknown.

I agree in part with this, there won't be any change. No smaller government, lower taxes, no living within our means, nada. There won't be a change in the way we look to the government for "help" and our entitlement mentality.

The revolution will come only when the currency collapes, and that's not too far off.

Then everyone will be looking around at what happened and want to blame someone, this will be the most dangerous part of the revolution. We will either have a dictatorship or call a new Constitutional Convention to re-establish the relatioship between government and the people. Either way it won't be a pretty thing that we will be facing.

I suppose you haven't heard yet that the ACORN fiasco was a staged job by a democrat hater. (The guy dressed as a street prostitute).

He just tried to pull another one on CNN using a CNN researcher and his boat rigged with cameras. Dirty tricks.

Speaking of cockroaches!!!

Just 4% Mr Bacon?

Just based on the effect that the tea party has had on recent elections I have to call it pretty ignorant to say that only 4% support the tea party's ideas. Mr Bacon I think that comment cost you a lot of credibility here. Hard to take you serious after that statement. (And I'm not a member of the tea party)

Early reports less than 100,000 at rally

The Huffington Post is reporting "Tens of Thousands" CBS is reporting "Thousands"

Looks like One Nation's Anti-Honor rally doesn't include hardly anyone in the Nation.

So Sad.......NOT.

Total Failure

This rally was a total failure, there was more green space down the left side of the reflecting pool to play golf.

If the unions, socialist, and other progressive entitlement groups can't get out a million people it is all over for the Democrats.

They and their corrupt philosophy is doomed.

Maybe

There was "enough" green

There was "enough" green space" not "more" green space!

You know just 300 Spartans fought the Persians at a pass near Greece. It is "what" they represent not how many attending that is important. Anyway, there were "crowds" at both meetings. I didn't count them.

One can get millions to show up anywhere for free ice cream!

Free taxes can get even more! Lack of loyalty to an elected government can also bring out the rabble-rousers.

compare it to this one....Priceless

Ed Shultz the Liberals answer to Glenn Beck...Riiiighhtttt

http://www.can-you-hear-us-now.com/2010/08/arial-photo-of-beck-rally-tod...

“Sirius XM radio personality Joe Madison tells crowd the turnout is larger than the one drawn by conservative Fox News commentator Glenn Beck five weeks ago.” Obviously a Government School education. I wonder if he took his shoes off to count.

Don’t you just love how Liberals respect America’s Historical sites!

Statements from the rally

I just love Liberals so free with our money.

“Karolina Bodner, a retired teacher from Barrington, N.H., told Oren she is at the rally because "most people I know are getting Social Security checks from the government and getting disability checks from the government and driving on roads that are built and repaired by the government. I don't know who the people are that are saying, 'Get rid of all that.' "”

Obviously a Government School education. I wonder if he took his shoes off to count.

““Sirius XM radio personality Joe Madison tells crowd the turnout is larger than the one drawn by conservative Fox News commentator Glenn Beck five weeks ago.”

Almost 2 years and it’s still about Bush. These people sound like my kids. It was always someone else’s fault that the lamp got broken too.

John Gardner, 60, from Pittsburgh, is also a retired schoolteacher. He is carrying a sign that says "Amnesiacs vote Republican. Those who remember vote Democrat." He told Oren he's on the Mall because he thinks Democrats are being blamed for the mistakes they inherited from Republicans.”

And finally I think this says it all. Just what is the “Antidote” to Smaller Government, Lower Taxes and Fiscal Responsibility? Larger Government, Higher Taxes and more Spending. The new Progressive model for Government.

"We're not an alternative to the Tea Party. We want to be an antidote," Jealous says of the NAACP. "We want to make the mainstream of the country visible to itself."

Let's see if they picked up their trash

Very little mainstream media reporting how the people at the Beck rally left very small amount of trash behind. Let's see how they address the trash issue from this (much smaller) rally. Anybody hear or see any reporting on this?

BTW, we get to vote in 4 short weeks. I think it will be interesting to see the network news people explain the results.

Neatness counts but it produces more jobs when one strowes trash! Ain't humans nasty?

CNN fired Rick Sanchez for acting like a Cuban, recently. Now I think he should have been fired or moved anyway for incompetence and acting like prejudiced FOX announcers, but not for being a Cuban! We filled up Florida with Cubans on full approval, and also took in the politicians and high ranking capitalists there.
I don't know how Rick's folks got here! He was only two.

What do you think?

mudcat there is no one reporting it

and I think it says all you need to know.

We went to DC and the most conservative estimate was 600,000 people while the high estimate was closer to a million. There was no trash. We respected were we where the historical significance.

These people were bought and paid for. The Union folk were told to be there and many were bused for free. So it was not an event they were passionate about thus they did not care.

This is your typical Liberal/Progressive now. Just keep the entitlements coming and to heck with the Country. It doesn't matter that we are going broke. I am ashamed to admit we have gone from the Greatest Generation to the Gimmie Generation is so short of time.

My Grandkids future is being mortgaged by the parties in DC and if we do not stop it we will not have a legacy to pass on.

About as many "kooks" there as was at Beck's sermon!

This is not the USA? Neither one.

Nor are the Wall Street crooks and professional politicians!

What we need is a "good" war!
