The Reality of Identifying US Citizens
This week it was reported that three residents of Cherokee County ran a thriving forgery ring. This 'business' venture may have provided fake identification to hundreds of illegal immigrants. The three have been charged with making and selling drivers licenses, green cards, birth certificates, and Social Security cards. (Identification that one needs to get a job here in the US). Maybe some of you believe that law enforcement's 'stopping those based on probable cause will get rid of illegals - but I disagree. Once the 'well made' fake ID's are presented to 'law enforcement' - the illegal will still remain in the US - because he/she has a job!! Some disagree with the idea of holding the illegal employers accountable - but those from other countries come here for work!! Here in Georgia, an employer has the ability to fingerprint prospective employees. This 'print' can be sent to a government agency - and legal citizenship can be verified. Employers should be held accountable for following the law. Local and federal government may not have to 'pay' for deportation - illegals come for jobs - no jobs, stay home. What is frightening is that the three accused of forgery may have ties to the 18th Street Gang - a violent arm of the drug cartel. The cartel is right here in Georgia! Deport the criminals? Some of the 18th Street Gang are natural born citizens of the US.
Don't be afraid of immigration 'reform'. Some in this discussion have shared that they and their families are familiar with the legal process - and state that it could use improvement. The use of local law enforcement to 'round up' illegals is a futile practice. MAKE EMPLOYERS FINGERPRINT ALL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES. What do you think?
