Has any thought been giving to using the Drupal Facebook Connect module to allow instant signup? I've noticed you've got a good Facebook feed going, and this might make it easy for people to signup/login here. Since you've got a seperate signup for Citizen Sports, Facebook connect might make it easier to sign up/access for both sites since there is no shared logon between the sites.

Short Answer: Well, no one has mentioned this module yet, so: "No thought has been given to this module."

Long Answer: The module is still in beta, and I try to avoid using modules that haven't reached a release version. Looking at the issue queue for that module, there seem to be several non-trivial tasks that need to be addressed. I'll mention it to the other people involved in this project, but at this juncture, I can't recommend using the module.

I understand not wanting to use beta code (I'm loathe to use them on my own sites), but they are at release candidate level, which to me indicates a high level of stability.

I believe that the majority of the identified issues will go away now that Facebook has reversed policy and permits persistent data to be stored, but the module doesn't appear to have been updated yet (probably because the change was announced 10 days ago).

As such, I'd have to agree with you that it is probably premature to consider this module, however, I think it might be worth revisiting in 3 months or so once FB and Drupal get their connectivity issues resolved.
