I would like to see this become something that works. I don't have any interest other than community building and I like to eat ☺

What would make a market work? First off I'd say good prices and flavorful local produce/fruit. Here is a list of other things I can think of that might interest folks.

- I have always wondered why we don't have shrimp from the gulf all over the place here. Anyone want to make a run once a month to pick some up?
- I would love to see tamales for sale, cheap and homemade.
- Local honey is good.

The community support will be one thing. Not sure what the PTC codes will be allowing. Would you want to see a little flea market environment or is this too tacky for the community? How about prepared foods like bbq and hot dog trucks. Sno-cones? Where does the line get drawn?

Again, I have no financial interest or actual input on this business. I just want to generate discussion. Add your ideas on what you would like to see.

I believe local business development continues to be the foundation of our future.

I think an area with agriculture information would add some interest and traffic to the market. Some folks attracted to a Farmers Market are interested in gardening and growing their own food.

PTC code opinion

I for one would like to see the market have a down home folksy flavor verses a boutique feel. Bring on the bbq and boiled peanuts. Let's have a petting zoo. Make it a rural culture celebration with good prices.

Don't get me wrong, I love our town, my golf, and can talk a little fancy. I just think a real country market next to the country club would be fun and give PTC some flavor.

Market is up and running

I was driving by the corner of PTC Parkway and Floyd Farr Parkway last Saturday and saw the crowd at the market. Didn't stop as I had an appointment.

Does anyone want to share their thoughts on how the PTC Farmer's Market is going?

Market in PTC

Been both Saturdays--seems well attended and managed, with sufficient goods to purchase. Will be open also on Wednesdays, starting tomorrow, from 8am to 1pm.

I heard good comments..

I will be checking it out....

A little beach town I go to in Florida has local farmers markets somewhat like this. I love it.
