In Front Of Toddler.

"There is a moral and social breakdown in the fabric of our, society which is clearly evident when a woman gets pummeled in broad daylight in front of her child while a dozen people pull out their phones to record the incident instead of calling for help," Salem Chief of Police John J. Pelura III said, according to South Jersey Times. "There is so little regard for human life — by the actor and the bystanders."

Kind of reminds me of the incident that occurred in Detroit with the driver hitting a child that ran in front of him. He damn near died from the beating by the crowd. At least a retired nurse took action and intervened to save his life.

BTW, events like the one in Detroit or Salem New Jersey will not make the national news.

Sadly a breakdown in human concern that is not limited to citizens of our country - but a global problem. You're right - not a mention of this in the mornings news. Fear of starting a retaliation movement? This has been an answer when other horrific incidents happened regarding citizens of different races. I hope the person who took the video dialed 911 first! (From the article, I guess this didn't happen.) I'm reminded of an incident when I first arrived in Fayetteville and a friend and I were obviously in distress.. A gentleman (white) came over to see if he could offer assistance. He was concerned. In Fayetteville, I have witnessed numerous occasions where citizens helped one another - and race was not an issue - it was concerned citizens helping one another. I love living in Fayetteville!

Just don't dis anybody. The Mom beat-down was over spreading rumors at the work place - allegedly. Anyone familiar with mob/gang/prison/street/hood culture knows about the rules of loyalty and penalty of disrespect. The videographers and assailant were laying in wait.

Textbook bully

The victim was obviously outmatched by a much larger attacker, not much in the way of culture, regardless of the authority. Regarding the onlookers, if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

Loss of humanity in effect

It's more important to video this attack and show your friends later or post it online instead of intervening.

The victim's little kid showed more guts than any of the pathetic adult losers who were standing around with their cell phones out. Disgusting.
