What cell phone provider do you use?

Chances are it's Verizon.

If so, chances are the NSA has a record of your conversation...

The Guardian UK has obtained documents that shows the NSA has obtained MILLIONS of phone records of Americans and continues to do so everyday.

According to the report these are NOT suspected terrorist not even calls going overseas to hostile Governments. No these are actually the everyday phone calls
of everyday Americans going about their business.

A major scoop from Glenn Greenwald at the Guardian appears to prove that the National Security Agency has been demanding that Verizon produce calling records of all phone calls made in the United States.
The leaked legal order requires Verizon to produce, “on an ongoing daily basis,” records of calls “between the United States and abroad” as well as “wholly within the United States, including local calls.” The data sought by the NSA includes “originating and terminating telephone numbers,” and the time and duration of each call. The order does not request the contents of the calls.

Of course the Whitehouse remains silent on this story... Probably some low level staffer at the NSA just got a little out of hand.

Remember when the Progressive/Liberals claimed then President Bush was listening in on your phone calls?

Well it appears this administration may actually be doing it.

Fast and Furious...

Kill List...

Drones invading your privacy...

GSA running amok...

Wiretapping the Press..

Benghazi...

DOJ perjury specifically Holder..

IRS targeting groups..

Now the NSA..

The scary part is... What's next? What else have they done that we don't even know about yet? What are they going to do with all of this information?

Now do you understand why some of us get incredulous at some of you that continues to state Government is our friend...That Government can be trusted.

Most likely probably not...

NSA taps into internet... (Thank you Bush and Obama)

NSA taps in to internet giants' systems to mine user data, secret files reveal
• Top secret PRISM program claims direct access to servers of firms including Google, Facebook and Apple
• Companies deny any knowledge of program in operation since 2007

"The National Security Agency has obtained direct access to the systems of Google, Facebook, Apple and other US internet giants, according to a top secret document obtained by the Guardian.

The NSA access is part of a previously undisclosed program called PRISM, which allows officials to collect material including search history, the content of emails, file transfers and live chats, the document says"

You can thank the Patriot Act a Bush program... and you can thank Obama for expanding it.

Remember when I said be very careful the power you give to Government just because you agree with their ideology..because you never know how the next Administration will abuse it... Well here we are and the Progressives are at it this time. Just ignore all of the abuse by this Government...nothing to see here.

It also important to note that the Guardian UK is receiving the documents...NOT the American Press. I wonder why?

Obama promises to end Gov't Wiretapping and data mining...

...in 2007.

"For one thing, under an Obama presidency, Americans will be able to leave behind the era of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and "wiretaps without warrants," he said. (He was referring to the lingering legal fallout over reports that the National Security Agency scooped up Americans' phone and Internet activities without court orders, ostensibly to monitor terrorist plots, in the years after the September 11 attacks.)"

You be the judge is this a promise kept?

Dude gets the CIA briefing at 10:45AM instead of first thing

Guess they need all that extra time to put all those wiretaps on Republicans together. Or maybe he's just up late most nights and is a slow starter and 10:45 is actually the beginning of his day. One thing is clear though - when the press finally decided to turn on him, they did it quickly and together. Why he got a 5 year honeymoon is a real mystery, but at least he's been neutered and won't be able to push any more liberal crap through. Maybe he'll even lose some Senate seats and we can rid ourselves of Obamacare. That would be sweet.

Probably because the "Leaker" fears the Guardian less than the US Press revealing his/her identity. Regardless of who the Leaker is, he/she deserves some slammer time.

AHG...

Also most likely the American Press aka lame stream media wouldn't disclose the information...well unless it about our operations or how we interrogate terrorist and such...

Heard tonight that the Wash Post broke the story 2 hrs prior to the Guardian, so the US Press did have the leaked info.

Obama's take on the NSA Data mining program...

"If you don't trust your Government then we are going to have problems"...Obama.

Uhhh...then I think we are going to have some problems because we, well at least the intelligent among us, don't trust our Government.

Trust Government?

barrack hussein obama and his cronies lie to the American people as often as they breathe. And he wonders why Americans don't trust him?
obama is a pathological narcissitic liar. He states that America is "going to have to make some choices".

He didn't give us a choice. He started snooping on us without our consent. He states that "Nobody is listening to your telephone calls."

We can't believe a word he says though. When he says that no one is listening, you can bet your sweet bippy that they are listening. He's creating his enemies list, and you are on it if you speak against him or his policies.

He is destroying America, trampling on our civil liberties, and the bedwetters on the left won't call him on it because they are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.

Obama...We don't want to tax all businesses out of business..
Obama wrote:

"We don't want to tax all businesses out of business," Obama said. "But we do think that there's a role to play for government."

I wonder which ones he does want to tax out of business...?

A long time ago there was Echelon, a joint enterprise between the US and Great Britain; both countries having strict and cumbersome national privacy laws along with intelligence sharing agreements at other levels of their multifaceted governments. The Brits used Echelon to collect data on American citizens among others and the US used Echelon to collect data on British citizens among others so that national privacy laws were not violated. The combined and legally shared data, freed of national privacy laws, then came under the purview of the respective national intelligence agencies and was shared depending on what the information was and the intelligence agreements concerning it.

That was then, way back 40 years ago. Now there is PRISM. PRISM is collecting data by the zetabyte, ten to the power of 21. Data that would fill 250 billion DVDs. Cisco Systems estimates that the internet will be sending zetabyte levels of data by 2015.

Everybody is up in arms because it has been revealed that the NSA is recording information about telephone calls. I guess they forgot Bush's Patriot Act which they all supported at the time. A dig against the rght-wingers who supported it at the time I admit, but we did tell you so over and over. My point being to emphasize that the current outrage is about surveillance implemented at least a decade and a half ago, which is essentially forever in terms of computer development.

Sure, a Senate committee will probably find that information was collected about your telephone call's origin and duration and appropriate outrage will be expressed by the left (invasion of privacy and free speech) and the right (screw 'em, they're terrorist), but each individual investigation is just a distracting layer on an infinite onion.

They are not recording your cell phone's call duration and connection per se, although if accused of that (or any) specific crime or infraction it may (and would) turn out to be so. They are now capable of recording the internet in it's entirety in real time. Telephone calls are such an insignificant part of the spectrum as to be lost in a rounding error.

The only thing that saves you is whether you are insignificant enough as to slide under the search engines seeking out whatever data criteria they deem significant to be looking for weighed against the cost of revealing their sources and capabilities if they revealed that they knew the information they had discovered about you.

No one has any electronic privacy whatsoever. You will never have any electronic privacy ever again no matter what laws are enacted. People have to start from there.

We already knew Obama was systematically screwing up this once great country. I just didn't realize his expansion of PRISM was to blame for my Internet getting bogged down at times and being increasingly slow overall! Thanks for your refreshing honesty!

I would have bet anything I own that you would not get it DRM. That was an obvious joke. Your Dear Leader actually affecting my Internet speed??? You truly enjoy being a perpetual and paranoid victim, don't you? I'm pretty certain that JeffC will tell you that he knows I was messing with him after what he wrote. We have had similar exchanges before. Unlike most liberals, he has a sense of humor. Unlike you, he has some sense.

I should be surprised that someone who issues IQ challenges here is too ignorant to figure it out. But, alas I am not. I could tell you that if you didn't see that was a joke, you are dumb as a stump. But, that would be an affront to stumps everywhere.

Buzz off, you old fool......
