The quote is from an interesting article written by a professor at Stanford. I've been interested in articles about what is happening to the 'middle class' in our country - and how the 'rich' CEO's appear to be getting raises even though budgets are being cut and people are losing 'hours' and/or jobs. The title of the article is NO RICH CHILD LEFT BEHIND. I'm concerned about the budget cuts in education and how our current pathway to austerity will affect our children. Interesting article.

The more we do to ensure that all children have similar cognitively stimulating early childhood experiences, the less we will have to worry about failing schools. This in turn will enable us to let our schools focus on teaching the skills — how to solve complex problems, how to think critically and how to collaborate — essential to a growing economy and a lively democracy.
