I just wanted to open up a forum for discussion on Peachtree City government. Cal & company do a great job of covering local issues, but comments on specific articles fade quickly.

Welcome

I just now happened to find you. Your posts are dated as much as a week ago. I didn't ever see them listed here as a list of new comments.

There needs to be a way to read what one wants without missing any--even if you miss a few days! Obviously not all comments are listed.

It is dreary to file through all of the categories.

Anyway, Are you going to discuss or comment on problems here?

Enforcement at 54/74

Sorry - I couldn't make that first link work!

Here is the full text:

Peachtree City Traffic Safety Reminder - Don't Block IntersectionsThe PTC Police Department would like to remind drivers that it is illegal to obstruct an intersection. There has been a recent increase in vehicles obstructing the intersection at Hwy 54 and Hwy 74, resulting in more citizen complaints.

Georgia Code Section 40-6-205 states, "No driver shall enter an intersection unless there is sufficient space on the other side of the intersection to accommodate the vehicle he is operating without obstructing the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians, notwithstanding any traffic-control signal indication to proceed."

So, even if the light is green, you may still need to wait behind the stop line until there is room for your vehicle to travel completely though the intersection. The Police Department will be conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Hwy 54 and Hwy 74 for violations of this statute.

Thank You Betsy...

..for the reminder about blocking intersections. Would you please pass the same along to Chief Skip so that he can remind Peachtree City's finest that when making a traffic stop, not to impede the flow of traffic with a substantial portion of their cruisers quarter panel remaining in the lane?

*laughing* Mike King is RIGHT!

I was on Georgian Parkway last week heading for the new bike shop behind the Kedron Kroger.
.
One of PTC's finest had pulled over a car, and in the process had made his patrol car's rear stick very far out into traffic.
.
The officer turned and noticed I'd slowed down and impatiently motioned me to move along.
.
I felt like rolling down the window and informing the officer that if he'd done his job correctly in the first place when parking his cruiser I would not have needed to slow down at all!

I don't know if you have enough evidence but you can always try to report him to the IRS. If he's paying cash to employees under the table then he's not paying his taxes.
