Winds: North 8
I'd rather see Romney in office than Obama, but I have a really hard time telling the differences between the two.
I respect your honesty. If more people compared their stand on the issues - they would see there is actually very little difference.
No matter what your belief or policy is, it's the EXECUTION of implementing decisions that make things happen. And if you make bad implementing decisions, all will be for naught.
and quiet a shock for those that are bent a little left.
60 of them would be heaven, but that's not likely. 52 or 53 would be fine for those times the ladies from Maine get wobbly on things.
Odd thing about the House is that the anti-incumbent attitude of the voters combined with the low approval rating might put Nancy Pelosi back in charge. Ugh!
The Senate race will be interesting, overall the Republicans will end up with 57 seats, this will not be a super majority but then that's what the 2014 election will be about.
Here's the link for your own analysis, I am sure the JeffC will look at the same numbers and come to a different conclusion. However, he was making some interesting predictions right up to the 2010 elections too.
The thing that will come out of the 2012 elections will be the unmistakable trend that we have an aging population that is getting more and more politically active and conservative. So, while the Liberals look to traditional special interest groups like gays, unions, government workers the real numbers are working against the Dems long term. Seniors, with money that vote will be the trend setters for the next several decades. That's because they vote and there will be a whole lot of them in the future. Progressive socialist agendas do not go down well with this cohort.
So, JeffC it's a good thing your Avatar is a Blue Dog, because you will be giving up a lot of your ideals in the coming decades for a more pragmatic view of the world.
57 seats would be so cool in the Senate because all you would have to do to get something done is to put some cash in somebody's freezer or promise them the island of Guam would not tip over. Yes, I know those dips were in the House instead of the Senate, but sometimes dips get promoted.
A Republican Senate would be a real dream for the country and would buy us retired people 5 or 6 more years before we have to get euthanized or start eating our young. Works for me.
I hope that I am right too, time will tell. If you want to figure out who will win each of these races, follow the inflow of money in each campaign. I think there is a real good chance for 57 on the Republican side. Not a super majority like Mr. Obama had but should be good enough to put a dent in the progressives' march off the cliff.
Since his positions on issues are still almost nonexistent even after campaigning for six years, he has been assigned Ryan's economic package which the Obama people will deconstruct line by line and which Mitt will spend the next month answering every point he disagrees with in Ryan's budget.
Hmmmmm. Doesn't sound scared to me.
Rubio was the best so far. No question. I don't care who you are, that was just a fantastic speech.
On to Mitt...
What a weird speech.
Rowdy Yates must be burning peyote in the old campfire before he made his speech. I thought his Superbowl commercial was much better than his invisible “Charlie McCarthy” act.
Hey Clint, “Get off my lawn!”
for the rebuttal!
It's amazing to read all the liberal analysis that comes on this forum. Well, here is mine as an Irish descendant, born in the USA and a Tea Party Republican ....
1. Ryan will put Wisconsin in the Red column.
2. Florida will be in the Red column thanks to Sen. Marco Rubio, Governor Scott, Pam Bondi and the smart seniors who are "not stupid" and know when they are being manipulated.
3. With the Governor's help Va will go to Romney.
4. Ohio is a toss up but my gut says Romney because of Governor Kasik who will push his citizens to vote for the GOP candidate.
5. Penn. is a strange breed. Biden hails from Scranton , Pa , a place where the city is bankrupt. Home of Biden.
6. Illinois is broke and must again rely on taxpayers(s) to bail them out. Obama's home.
Romney and Ryan win, Obama and family go home. America thrives again! Or, Obama causes havoc somehow and the election never happens....uh oh!
The forum desperately needs some liberal analysis to keep it interesting. Otherwise somebody writes something here and everybody else just posts a "yep, you got it" and then calls for a tax cut for the wealthy to fix whatever it is.
Your math seems to be correct. If Romney/Ryan wins Wisconsin, Florida, Virginia and Ohio (and North Carolina which most people are calling a toss-up but I'm giving to Mitt and I am assuming you are in agreement with that), then Romney/Ryan win with 276 delegates.
However that just underscores their difficulty. If they lose any of those states, they lose. And Obama won them all last time and he is now ahead in the polls in each of them. Plus, Michigan is now leaning Obama by over 7% and trending up, giving Obama another 16 delegates to 256 and leaving Obama needing only 14.
In Florida, Obama is up 49.9% to Romney 49.2%, a razor thin margin. Unemployment is above the national average and the housing market is still a disaster so that seriously favors Romney. However, I still see Ryan being a major negative with his Medicare stance. There is beginning to be a major shifting of down ballot Republican candidates away from the Ryan plan in a lot of states as their polling shows it to be more unpopular than not with independents. Still, I'll give you Florida for the sake of argument because Romney/Ryan simply lose if they don't win Florida. The one certainty is that Florida will cost a fortune. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rs pour $100 million into the state with the Ds close behind.
You have a lot more confidence that Governor Kasik can deliver Ohio than I can see evidence of. Obama is ahead in every poll an average of 46.8 to 44.2 (Obama +2.6%), unemployment is 7.2%, a point below the national average. Obama is buoyed by the bailout of the auto industry.
Not so fast on Virginia either. Obama is at 47.4% with Romney at 44.9% (Obama +2.5%). Unemployment is 5.9% with a urban, highly educated population and with a huge increase in minority population since 2008 all of which favors Obama.
Ryan maybe might tip Wisconsin but I don't think so. Obama is polling at 48.7% to Romney's 45.2% (Obama +3.2%) and Wisconsin has not voted Republican since 1984.
The delegate math seems to say that if Obama wins either Florida or Wisconsin or Virginia or Ohio or North Carolina then he'll win the election. Mitt has to win them all, Obama has to win just one and he is ahead in all of them and won them all last time.
Unless something dramatically boosts Romney (and neither the convention nor the selection of Ryan gave him a bounce), Obama and Biden win and Christie and Rubio start whetting the knives for 2016.
dream, I seem to recall similar polls just before your father's overwhelming defeat to Mr. Reagan.
I believe all of the national polls were showing your father way ahead this time during his re-election bid, were they not?
We have a long way to go, Jeff.
After the conventions and at the beginning of September 1980, Gallup had a Carter/Reagan tie at 39% each. There was also the persistent drag of the hostage crisis and John Anderson the third party candidate who ended up with 8%.
There is no downward polling trend for Obama, no third party candidate and Romney is definitely not Ronald Reagan.
I have heard that many times after the fact but it didn't happen except in an outlier Gallup poll:
Already read your link as it referenced the same one I posted :)
I was actively involved in 1980 and I sure don't remember there being an 8 point gap a week prior to the election. Either polling today is much more accurate(true) or that was a one-off poll conducted and researched poorly(likely true).
Don't forget what we have in today's society educating Americans on this administration; Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, all the Tea Party organizations with outstanding speakers, Fox News, many books as per Obama's Rage, the movie 2016:Obama's America, and all social media's. It’s these dedicated Patriots who are slowly taking back America. Never underestimate “We the People". The "drag" today is the continual doomsday reports about the economy and the fact there are NO JOBS. The list can go on and on.....
I just paid $3.99 a gallon, enough said.
Realistically, how many people are we talking about. Maybe 4-6% of the voters are undecided. How they can still be undecided is somewhat inexplicable but they don't read the Huff, watch MSNBC or FOX News, or listen to Glen or Rush.
By "drag" I meant a long term downward trend in Obama's polling, which has not happened at all. Your list can go on and on but it already has been going on and on for quite some time and Obama's polls have been pretty good and pretty steady.
Of course the President has nothing to do with gas prices but you are correct that those who have not been able to evaluate the candidates to a conclusion so far may be swayed by a completely erroneous assumption that he could influence gasoline prices.
So... did your peeps support William and Mary and win and leave after their destruction of the clans or were they with the Jacobites and lost and got thrown out?
Please tell me that the Demos did not lay blame for high gasoline prices on those evil Repub oil men in 2008.
Where are those Demos now?????
On the contrary, Mr. Obama didn't run on lower gasoline prices, he ran on "clean green energy", in his mind having gasoline prices climb would have helped him achieve it.
It took 100 years to develop an efficient internal combustion engine, I suppose that some one that is so disconnected from markets couldn't understand that any alternative would take at least as long.
Now people are choosing between higher priced food (energy driven), heating their house (energy driven) and driving their car (energy driven).
If Mr. Romney wins the presidency, we'll see how much the President can influence gasoline prices along with all other consumer goods (energy driven).
JeffC, policy in fact counts, that and will.
I didn't say Obama I said Demos. Just for grins and giggles, google "Pelosi blames Bush for high gas prices."
for the missed statement. As far as Ms. Pelosi, it is interesting that she has to read each of her statements in an attempt to keep her lying consistent. As with everything else she seems to do, she fails miserably.
The fact is that energy, is a long term proposition. It takes decades to build the infrastructure we need to meet our energy needs in this country. We seem to be pretty schizophrenic when it comes to "energy policy". That's the fundamental problem, government involvement in distribution and production. Energy is one of the most regulated components of the US economy. As long as we let politician's politicize energy, we will always have an energy problem in this country.
The moment that government gets out of the way of free markets is the moment we begin a road to much, much lower energy prices. We will have a nation that has the strength to pull itself out of the ditch we let our politicians run us into.
But I know I am preaching to the choir. ;-)
There is abundant oil & natural gas--the new pipeline will bring more. Real problem is enviros preventing new refineries for more than 30 yrs.
Indeed! Among other things, like little snail darter fish that stop dams from being built and owls that stop trees from being harvested. If people want to save these creatures, then they should buy property and protect them. Don't look for tax breaks to do it either, if there are enough people interested in "saving the planet" then let them buy the planet and save it. Don't force me to buy the planet, I have enough of it already. My tax bill proves it.
Let's search, find and drill for oil.
Let's harness hydroelectric power where we can.
Let's burn coal
Let's use nuclear
Let's frack for natural gas
Let's harvest tar sands
Let's snap out of it and stop pandering to the multitude of special interests that are destroying our way of life. Let's tell them where to go with their little green cars.
Gasoline prices are set internationally. The US is awash in gasoline. Our refineries are now so efficient that we are producing huge surpluses today with about 87% capacity. We export 430,000 barrels of gasoline per day. All of your arguments assume shortages which is simply not the case.
Obama has done nothing to help - no new offshore drilling, no pipeline from Canada, no fracking. Instead he is focused on fluking - defined as the patronization of Sandra Fluke who is unbelievably a speaker at the Dems convention in Republican NC. And these are the people some of you want leading the country?
For historical perspective on failed presidents, please read Pat Buchanan today on Town Hall. Says it all without the useless emotional arguments.
..."Under my plan of a Cap and Trade system Energy rates would necessarily skyrocket"
"So, if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can — it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted."
"The ban on drilling in the Gulf is a result of the April 20 explosion of BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.
President Barack Obama will not be allowing new drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico for at least seven years, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Wednesday."
Of course Energy (gas) has gone up.. it was $1.87 when he took Office and yesterday it hit an all time high.
Obama has been very successful in his quest to equalize or make it more "FAIR" for "green" energy to compete.
Don't forget what we have in today's society educating Americans on this administration; Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, all the Tea Party organizations with outstanding speakers, Fox News, many books as per Obama's Rage, the movie 2016:Obama's America, and all social media's.
Nothing has so energized independents than the rantings of Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh and such against this administration to encourage the 'get out the vote' to halt this march to the return to mediocrity. Thanks!
...that's also what you said before November 2010... How did that one work out?
JeffC, here's some detail, if you want more I can get it.
In January 1980, ABC News and Harris Survey's released the following headline
HEADLINE - Carter Now Far Ahead of Both Reagan and Bush, with the introduction statement: "President Carter so dominates the American political scene now that his margin over Ronald Reagan in a post-Iowa trial heat has risen to an overwhelming 65-31 percent. And against George [HW] Bush, the GOP candidate who finished first in the recent Iowa caucuses, Carter leads by only a slightly lower 62-32 percent."
The times are different now JeffC, but not the control of the media, it remains the same, far left of center. The fact is the polls leading up to the election as described by the media were overwhelmingly in favor of your father.
Polls don't mean much in this election for several reason, but not the least of which that those that supported Mr. Obama in 2008 will simply not show up at the polls. Others that supported him will vote against him but not say they will in a poll, in other words they will lie.
Fundamentally, Mr. Obama built expectations far beyond humanly possible, now he will pay for it in the next election. You can analyze all you want to JeffC but he will be defeated.
Oh yes, he doesn't have the most money and it's always the guy with the most money that wins. But you know this already don't you JeffC? Too bad he couldn't raise that 1 billion dollar war chest that he thought he could, or he would win sure as rain.
The money always follows the winner JeffC.
That was January 1980. In September, immediately after the conventions and Reagan was the official nominee, they were tied.
1980: Reagan-Carter Polling
I just don't think this race is very comparable.
Anyway, on to the Democratic Convention where I am as sure as Napoleon was at his trial that virgins will be able to offer their chastity against a single lie being spoken.
I suppose at some point the polls crossed from Carter to Reagan and on to the election.
There is one comparison, that is the overhang that your father faced with the hostages, Mr. Obama's hostages will be the economy and the reminder daily of 24 million people out of work. He cannot escape it.
As to lies and certainty their can be no question as long as politicians make speeches, and I would wager not a virgin in the room.
but Obama may well be Carter on steroids - hostage to the economy as you say with a healthy dose of corruption thrown in. I would think that 24 million unemployed and probably another 10 million underemployed or in a dead-end job would make an effort to go out and vote for a change in leadership. That's bound to be a factor in Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, Wisconsin.
I still await the inevitable October surprise from Prezbo and his handlers. Hard to believe that is next month. End is in sight. Thank God.
You remember the recall against Scott Walker? Message there dude.
Florida? Are you kidding me? The Q-tips in Florida were probably born in the 1950's making them the second generation that the Democrats tried to play the "Republicans hate seniors" card. You think that stuff works anymore? They also have the third generation (mine) coming along that helps them fill out the absentee ballots. Of course if you are in the military, the Dems lose your absentee ballots, but why quibble over that?
Bumper sticker for the Republicans "Nobody over the age of 55 will have their Senior Stuff changed."What is so hard to understand about that?
Landslide Romney. No other outcome. Awkward inauguration thing, no hugging, but who cares about that?
CBO says Ryan's voucher plan will cost seniors an additional $6000 a year. The Ds have to run with that.
If this stuff didn't work, why would the Rs be so insistent that nobody over 55 will be affected? They're trying to lop off that group from voting against them on this issue.
Besides, the Ds may put $75 million into Florida's 7 media markets. What else are they going to talk about? Social Security and Obama's political stroke deciding not to deport kids in school, thus undercutting Rubio. What else does he have?
You all ask what is so hard to understand about Ryan's plan since it seems so clear to you. For an outlandish moment, it occurred to me that y'all actually believe it.
Any fool knows the SS and Medicare thing is going to crash down and bury us pretty soon. Ryan is trying to fix it. Obama and the others are ignoring it. Why not fix it now instead of waking up one day in 2030 or 2040 and find out no checks at all are going out. None. Sorry Gummint' broke.
You want Grandma to go from $800 per month to 0? You want her Medicare payments to end completely? And suddenly? Who is throwing who off the cliff?
Mudcat, bumper stickers don’t always tell the whole story. If seniors think they can save Medicare for themselves by selling out their children they are wrong. Once the pact between the young and old is broken there is no incentive for those under 55 to fund Medicare at all and it will wither away until it is dead.
People under 55 will need Medicare for the same reasons seniors need it now. If the USA takes this first step to kill Medicare it will guarantee poverty will increase and the middle class will become that much smaller.
that Medicare will finally go away and allow people to make their own choices about their future. As I said earlier, we did fine before we had Medicare. It was the Johnson administration buying votes that got us into this fiscal debacle called Medicare.
$83 Trillion unfunded liability and climbing by the minute, nearly as much as the total national asset base.
we can only hope
that Medicare will finally go away and allow people to make their own choices about their future
Wow!! Wait 'til that is brought up at the Democratic Convention!! Do you realize how many people are looking forward to 'reaching 65' so that they can get the needed assistance with the cost of aging! Romneycare also includes preventative care - for a healthier America.
As a Country we are over $100 TRILLION dollars in debt including all of the unfunded mandates...Yes Medicare is one of them. It has to go.. We have raised a dependent society dependent on handouts from the Government.
There is a point in which we will have to stop spending money DM rather we agree to it or not.. Now is the time to stop kicking that can down the road and fix things not keep looking for the next handout.
There is a point in which we will have to stop spending money DM rather we agree to it or not..
There are some of us who just cannot see turning the country over to those who supported the spend, spend, send, and deregulation for 8 years. That policy took us to the brink under Republican leadership. Thanks but no thanks. We are moving forward - and will not return to the spend, spend, spend of the Republican era with only SOME citizens benefitting. WE all can work together to stop kicking the can down the road without taking our eyes off of the future (education, infrastructure, health)
You're such a freakin' dingbat. Seriously.
Now that is really an intelligent response - seriously. LOL. I love to bring out the best in everyone.
Obama and the libs have QUADRUPLED the national debt with absolutely nothing to show for it. Bush spent too much as well, but Obama has spent far more and yet our economy still remains flat, gas and grocery prices continue to climb, unemployment remains high.
Their only answer for everything is to throw more money that we don't have at it. The democrat party is mortgaging our childrens and grandchildrens future away on the empty promise of hope and change.
We can't afford 4 more years of this crap.
And to think he wants four more years. Oh, those that are supporting him say he's not done. Good gawd!!!!!
...if you can at least to yourself.
What was the unemployment rate in 2008?
What is it now?
What was the National Debt in 2008?
How much debt did Bush create in 8 years?
How much debt has Obama created in 4 years?
What does the CBO project the deficit to be in fiscal year 2012?
What does the CBO project the debt to be in 2020?
DM the teaparty was started because of Bush. We fought against him and his lack of testicular fortitude and NOT vetoing the spending bills coming to him by both sides of the aisle.
Obama has spent more then all Presidents from Washington to Reagan and he still hasn't spent enough according to him.
So don't tell us about Bush blah, blah, blah until YOU can recognize that your OWN party is just as culpable you have no argument.
The US is now $16 TRILLION in debt and it will take $1 Trillion just to service that debt...
How are we going to do that DM? HOW?
Obama said he was going to balance the budget in '08' did he?
He has said he plans to cut $4 Trillion from the debt. Now exactly how is he going to do that when the CBO has projected deficit spending of a Trillion this year and a Trillion a year for THE NEXT 10 YEARS.
Face it DM a Lie is a Lie no matter who says it...
I'm so sorry. I didn't realize that 2001-2008 did not happen. In 2008, we had a balanced budget, a 2% unemployment rate; legislators in Congress who welcomed the ALL-AMERICAN president and signed pledges to work with him for the American people. I don't know what is wrong with my memory. This guy, The President of The United States, was handed a country that had no problems and he has just ruined the United States. Why just today I saw some charts that completely distorted the truth - showing that actually the economy is moving forward. Now isn't that a lie!.. we all know that the economy in the United States is at the top of the charts as it was in 2008. Thanks for clarifying my mistaken impression of reality. As for Romney - he is a businessman who is well aware that it takes money to make money. He just may re-invest us right down the tubes!!! We can't spend another cent!! Thanks so much for your guidance!
Noticed you failed to even answer one of those questions. Just how much time does his polices need to work? Opps sorry that was another question that you will just ignore, but then again maybe not... 4 more years right?
DM by any measure the Economy is not fixed the Housing market is still broke, unemployment is higher, more Americans on food stamps then ever before, more Americans on disability then ever(hiding the real unemployment numbers), personal and family income lower then the last twenty years, debt out of control...MY GOD DM how much more proof do you need??????
DM it's OK to be a Democrat it's also OK to be a Progressive I guess but it is not OK to be this stupid no matter what. But then again you probably are not are you?
So then the question begs to be asked just what is it you think America needs and why is it the Constitution is just not enough?
By "economy is moving forward", she means "over a cliff".
Ah come on Lindsey - we gave the Republicans 8 years to take us over the cliff (and they were successful) - now that we're getting back on dry land - you guys just can't take it that we're moving forward. LOL! The economy will correct - as it is doing now - and your guy Romney will do just as he darn well pleases - much to the chagrin of the T Party. Now what question did I not answer? I do want to please. Who in the Sam Hill has ever said the Constitution is just not enough? Come on Lindsey - you just have to put your words into other persons mouths. Everyone here can read. America needs LEADERS who will work together for the American people rather than for corporations and special interests. (I'm not the only one here who believes this - party politics aside) America needs people who don't act like shills in discussion groups just to keep Americans divided based on other than ideology. MORE AMERICANS ARE ON FOOD STAMPS BECAUSE THIS DO NOTHING CONGRESS CAN'T GET TOGETHER AND PASS A JOBS BILL. (The word has been out since 2008 - don't support THIS president at all! He must not have any success - so that we can win in 2012) Now deny that Lindsey.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino stated in an interview with the Boston Herald while in Charlotte “If the Democrats don’t win the Senate and don’t win the presidency, what will happen to America and all the benefits we have?” So there you go, that's what it's all about, not what's good for the country, it's how we can keep our Benefits.
is going to be brought up at the DNC?
Let me know which night they will talk about that and how they will dismantle government to attain it. I am really excited now and didn't realize that the Democrats embraced individual freedom. Giving people choices on how they will spend their money, letting people make their own mistakes, letting people decide how they will help others with their money and educating their children where and how they want to. Gosh, I didn't know the Democrats even thought about such things.
Oh yes, I suppose we will get all that money back that was put into the SS fund for us so we can live in retirement luxury. That along with those Medicare taxes that will be returned to us we should be able to figure it all out on our own. Now that's progressive and the kind of political party I can get behind.
Why DM, you make my day. ;-)
SIR/Madam: Just tune in today on ALL of the news media - and of course the Democratic Convention which starts tomorrow. Enjoy!!
Clinton and Fluke made my day. How did Eastwood do for you? ARITHMETIC and RESPECT FOR WOMEN. The country is waiting for Romney and Ryan's plan for saving us from disaster using the same policies that were implemented in 2001. The debates will be fascinating. . .and educational. Too bad there are those who are sitting this out relying on Faux News for information. Let's see; the auto industry, women, minorities, youth, the victims of Bain capitalism. . . . we the people are anxious to work together to continue to move this country forward. Of the 14 caucuses in Congress, there is the European/Mediterranean Caucus - I think that includes all of the diverse groups in the US - all AMERICANS. Keep checking the Factcheckers. We know that they are just 'liberals' telling lies based on questionable 'facts'. LOL! Oh, unfortunately, it's going to get nasty. .. but there will be a peaceful solution - and our country will move on. CORPORATIONS ARE PEOPLE!! The Supreme Court said so. People who are hurting from the failed policies of 2001-2008 - and the obvious lack of any cooperation from one party from 2008-2012. THERE WAS A SURPLUS IN 2001!! What was done with that surplus? During the debate - the country will be reminded of that 'record'. . .and what the R/R plan will do that is different.
Let's begin the real debate and let's see the real platforms and hear what Americans really want to hear which is:
1-how are we going to reduce the debt?
2-how we going to fix the economy and get employment going the right direction?
3-how are we really going to fix health care and health insurance (2 separate and distinct industries)
Another interesting webite to use - FactCheck.org
All the rest is bulls#@t
but one of their token Liberals Opinion piece.Which btw has been thoroughly dismantled.
goes up in the month of August. Thanks Beck and Limbaugh!
According to Rasmussen:
We'll see if Obama gets a bump after the convention. Interesting - we're talking about a spread of 1-5 points. The electoral vote is what is important - and Jeff Carter has spelled that out. Everyone 'disapproving' will not necessarily vote for Romney and Rove - but we'll see. The Republican commentators are really sticking to their 'talking points' - and the Democrat commentators are showing those charts!! LOL!
Are we better off than we were four years ago?
Are we better off than we were after 8 years of a Republican administration?
The president, in his speeches, always used the words WE - but the Republicans made it clear there would be no WE from the Republicans for this UN-AMERICAN president.
We still don't have a clear plan for moving forward from Romney/Ryan and Rove. The debates will be important. We'll all listen carefully!
Romney's gaffs /foreign relations:
England: Security for the Olympics could be better
Israel: US may 'bomb' Iran
Poland: The 'holy ground' fiasco.
US: Romney and his wife have no need to show their birth certificates!! :-)
I know, I know - just sharing my perspective. LOL!
Rasmussen and Gallup both has his approval rating for August at 42%. Down from the first of August where it was 46%... a 4% drop in a month.
So OK Thanks Beck and Limbaugh.
His October surprise has been planned. Joe Biden will have a mysterious infection or heart problem or something and he will step down after faithfully serving his country for 4 decades. Prezbo will then appoint Valerie Jarrett as VP and the war for women's votes (including gay and transgender) will be won. Sound plausible? Why else has she been given Secret Service protection? Huh?
S.Lindsey is sorta right--it came from Fox News but Sally Kohn is a political commentator, community organizer and unpaid Fox contributor. FOX actually ASKED her to write the liberal response to the speech! All part of the "Fair and Balanced" policy.
... that Fox News agrees and endorses the Opinion piece... They do not.
That was Larry Sussberg's premise.
SLindsey, I kind of agree with you on this one. Anything you see or read from Faux News that vaguely resembles the truth must be a programming error.
Hey, do you hear that noise? Someone is trying to hack their way into my answering machine.
Knock it off Rupert, I know its you!
... since more people listen and watch Fox News then ABC, CBS and NBC combined I guess they are sucked into the big lie too. So you guys are so screwed.
SLindsey, Faux News is an audio-visual opiate for the GOP’s Povlovian trained segment of the US population. Of course they tune in over, and over, and over, and over,…you just can't help it can you?
Over ALL of the others? Is everyone brainwashed gort...really?
SLindsey, it’s a matter of right wing conditioning, not trust. It starts with Neil Boortz on the radio in the morning and ends on Faux News with Greta Van Susteren at night. Why do you think they call it programming? They programmed you.
ABC, CBS, and NBC's programming is sooooo sadly pathetic I hardly watch any shows anymore; it's so bad they've stooped to producing FAIRY TALES (no, I don't mean the RNC & DNC!); guess they've left the 'reality' TV to the cable networks. Thank God for Redbox...and books.
And, if permitted another vent, I USED TO like the Today Show in the morning, but apparently we're still part of the British Empire and they HAVE to do a piece on the royal family EVERY day...! Pippa Middleton is news this morning?!? REALLLY????
Whether you are a Democrat, Republican, Tea Party, Communist, or a Rasta....
Both sides are lying and they don't seem to care!
Check any fact checking organization and you will see the lies are piling up.
It appears that we will all lose no matter what Bozo we elect unless someone gets serious and starts laying out a very clear plan for America.
The fear is that no one will and we will vote not knowing a plan.
Time is running out for the election and possibly us.
That's the truth and what we are seeing is the lie.
Who is going to check the fact checkers? They, like the media, have a bias.
men and women earned every penny of that as opposed to the companies that got those bailouts under the guise of a stimulus. Not a one of the CEO's got shot at or spent time in a foxhole. Much of the stimulus money was frittered away with no results. Those servicemen knew the value of the education they got through the GI Bill and applied themselves and most became self sufficient using the education they got.
I just turned this on and judging from the crowd shots inside the hall, seems Dragon Con was not last weekend in Atlanta....this is the real Dragon Con. What a freak show!
Warn me next time before you post sometime hilarious. Now I have to clean my IMac cause my go-to-bed adult beverage is sprayed all over it.
2 hours later on CSPAN, this is what I see. Republicans spent their convention checking every electronic device ever made to keep up with the world while they were in Tampa. Everyone had one, everyone used one. Like it or not, that IS the future.
Democrats, all I see are buttons, pins, union signs and lit up costumes and Halloween glasses. Jesse Jackson? Gives me chills.
Sorry about the beverage. My IMac has taken some hits from your stuff, too, ya know.:)
The Ds got back all the women that Ann Romney rallied away plus some. Michelle's speech was just great. She could not have done better.
Now, she is doing what? She talks about her husband as if we don't know what kind of a man, father, husband he is. We know what he is as much as he lets us see what he is. We've witnessed it for 4 years. We don't need to be told again, 4 years later, who he is. His record tells us who he is. His record stinks.
For him to have Rahm Emanuel on stage, the foul mouthed, crude politician to still speak for him, speaks volumes about the lowlifes Obama surrounds himself with.
A week from now, those D women won't remember what she said tonight. And why should they? There are many, many who will be saying to themselves, "Do I think this man can lead this country better than he has for the next 4 years?" If the D women aren't asking themselves that, then what a shame for them. Because that is the only question left to be answered now, isn't it?
They are actually having this silly Sandra Fluke girl speak as if she were an elected office-holder or something.
And Elizabeth Warren running for Ted Kennedy's Senate seat, which is being held by Scott Brown. What does she bring to the table? Or is this just to get her some exposure so she can get elected?
For them to feel that the 3 most important things on the table right now for the undecided voter is government paid contraception, gay marriage and removing God's name from their official platformtells me all I need to know about this party of big tent inclusion.
is going to lose. She can't even get the Democratic mayor boss of Boston to support her (yet) and has big issues with lying on her Harvard papers claiming minority status as a native American Indian, but now won't provide documentation (because she can't, she lied), thus pissing off the Indian population. And pissing off those who she stepped over with an unfair advantage to get her job.
Scott Brown is what Mass. needs, moderate Republican, just promoted to Colonel in the Army National Guard, law degree, wife is a former TV new anchor in Boson (Gail Huff-much beloved, I might add).
He beat a Democrat for Teddy's seat when he died...unthinkable at the time. Not to mention he is handsome as all get out, posed nude in Playgirl years ago (yup, that's a positive) and if he wins this Senate seat, will be a someone's VP candidate in a few years.
The only reason she is being touted at all, is Vicki Kennedy (Ted's oh so rich widow) is flexing her (dead husband's) muscle over the humiliation she and the Kennedys felt to be beaten by a Republican for his seat. She wants payback. Did you see her last night, sitting next to Barack's half sister and Michelle's brother? She's a real Democratic power broker now, and has already pissed off two of Teddy's sons. The soap opera continues in the Commonwealth. The only difference is now, the voters there are finally, finally fed up.
Warren will speak tonight for "the good of the party", but I would be shocked if she were to win Scott Brown's Senate seat.
The state that enabled all kinds of Kennedy's over the years and also the one that has given us the great Barney Frank. I think our voters are stupid, but Massachusetts voters are stupid at a whole new level.
Is this Vicki person the one who has banished Taylor Swift from Hyannis or some such place?
That's ok, Taylor just bought her own home within walking distance of the Kennedy compound in Hyannis. $4.9 million 13 room home overlooking Nantucket Sound.
Mass. voters used to be stupid. They are starting to come around, though. Slow, but it is happening. With Teddy and Barney gone (man, how stupid does that sound..Teddy and Barney) there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Barack used to take Michelle on a date a real car or a composite of all he had owned or thought about owning? Sort of like that date he made up in his book. No doubt Obama is a good father or husband , but I am not looking for a good father or husband to lead my country. I would be impressed with all the caring the Obama's are showing for illegals, students and student loans and gay relationships if all this caring had come to the forefront well before they became a tool for re-election. The sad part is that there are those who will be taken in with all of this last minute posturing.
She said "Being President doesn't change who you are ...it reveals who you are"..
Oh that one she is absolutely correct.
Obama has revealed the Socialist Radical that he was in College to be the Man he is today.
JeffC, I seen the video Jimmy Carter made for the DNC last night. I thought it was great and you must be very proud.
As a matter of fact, watching the DNC last night was refreshing compared the “We-Hate-Obama-fest” put on by the RNC last week.
