“I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I talked to friends and family and neighbors, when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together; when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘don't ask, don't tell’ is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”

I know ...I know... Parsing and picking out sentences or words out of a whole statement and using it to hammer the speaker of that statement is usually something I complain about.

BUT.... I am not the President of the United States and my narcissistic ego has not been well established.. Ok (imnsho).

The whole I was for it before I was against it and now I am for it again simply shows the Character, or the lack there of, of our current resident in the White House. Much like the Teflon Don Clinton he can count on the Media to not cast a spotlight on the inconsistencies.

Rather you are for it, against it or really don't care is not the point. The point is do you want the FEDERAL Government to decide what traditions we can rely on or the States.

The Constitution is clear on this.. The Power does NOT reside with the Federal Government. Like North Carolina just did they held a State Constitution convention and amended theirs to ban same sex-marriage.

After-all their reasoning is what's next? Polygamy, bestiality, pedophilia? It's clear if you allow one you must allow others right?
