That's the new reason for Global cooling.
You heard that right.. the Sky is falling. According to NASA Clouds are now lower to the Earth then 10 years ago so this explains why
there has been no warming like they and good ole Al Gore predicted.
So let me get this straight there has been an overall increase in CO2 but yet no corresponding increase in temps like the Mann hockey stick
claimed there would be and the reason is lower clouds.

I saw it. I've watched 15 out of 20 now. I have no reason why. I was disappointed. Santorum essentially destroyed himself. The Rs have to nominate Romney because the others are crazy. But with Santorum being so wacko as to take himself out of contention can the Rs possibly forget everything they know and circle back around to look at Newt one more time? Maybe they'll reason that surely he couldn't be as bad as he seemed two weeks ago, seemingly with virtually no chance of winning the election. Another look? Maybe he looks different now that he's the only, last-man-standing, not-Mitt.
You don't think they will actually consider Ron Paul as a serious, viable, not-Mitt do you?
Looks to me like Mitt might be inevitable after Super Tuesday if he wins Michigan next week. Of course I'd much prefer it to go on until the convention with Mitt dying the death of a thousand cuts. Alas, I think that's about over. Still, the Rs that don't like Mitt are legion, it's been the strangest political season ever, mounting desperation, millions and millions and millions of dollars, SuperPacs... who can predict anything? You'd think that Mitt's esteemed campaign could close the deal then you hear they're having Donald Trump do robo-calls for them, somehow imagining that's an asset instead of a farce and you realize that they are so out of touch that Mitt really could blow it all.

There is one major problem... That fuel DOES NOT EXIST. However the mandate and TAX stays. So as we go into Summer with Government mandated boutique fuels and a crisis brewing in the Middle East. The Government forces the Oil Industry to pay a tax for failing to use the new bio-fuel that doesn't exist.
When you are paying $4-5 a gallon or more by Summer's end just remember why?
I know it won't matter to you being a staunch ideological puppet but when you pull that lever in November don't come crying to the rest of us that you had to pay such high prices for Gas and you couldn't afford to take a vacation this year. I for one am going to remind you of this post.

Slidnsey Advocates Foreign Takeover of US!
I got to thinking about this Keystone pipeline. Now, how in the world would they build an oil pipeline all the way from Canada to Texas? Hmm, does the federal government own ALL the land that the proposed pipeline is to traverse?
Turns out, NOT! Now, how would such a project get built? Well, with the power of eminent domain! Seems that TransCanada has been scoping out all the land needed for the pipeline and making low-ball offers to the landowners. If the landowners don't feel like selling their land to a foreign entity, then TransCanada seems them nasty letters saying that they will get the land one way or another using the power of eminent domain!
Question of the day? Why is Slindsey advocating the takeover of US land by a foreign entity?

Lets be clear about Keystone
Phase 1 is already in operation and is suppling "dilbit" to the ConocoPhillips refinery at Wood River, Ill. Phase 2 is constructed and waiting for Keystone XL to come on-line.
Last August, the EPA acknowledged in it's final report that Keystone XL would pose no significant impacts. So given that this so-called evil brew is already transported into Illinois for refinement and the EPA has bought off on this why does the president have to hold up his decision until next year on XL? It seems awfully political to me.
As for those eminent domain lawsuits lets see how that gets vetted in court. The question before the court is wether it is a private pipeline or a common carrier? The outcome of that will be most interesting.

Well, the Supremes have already ruled that eminent domain can be used for private projects.
So, the matter is not actually whether it is a private project or common carrier as you say, but whether the project proceeds AT ALL. If it proceeds, the private property of private citizens WILL be confiscated by the government and handed over to the private foreign entity TransCanada with the backing of the semi-closeted communist Slindsey et al, just so he can fill up his Subaru Forester with cheaper gas!

Keystone wouldn't matter AHG
The Keystone pipeline would do nothing for US gasoline supplies except to make more for export. The US is awash in gasoline. In fact, we are exporting a net of more than 430,000 barrels of gasoline a day. We also export diesel and jet fuel.
Gasoline: The new big U.S. export
If we do Keystone, it will only replace an existing supplier and we get the vast majority of our oil from Canada then Saudi Arabia then Mexico then everybody else and only miniscule amounts from the Mid East.
In any event, build Keystone or not, it will not affect the price of gasoline.

But....
Would it further decrease our demand potentially from OPEC?
Would a more secure source of oil from our partner to the North be beneficial to us or not?
Does the cancellation of this project help us or hurt us in the long term?
Does the cancellation of this project help or hurt China and is that good or bad for us?
You see Jeff our Strategic future to secure a viable and plentiful source of oil that is not dependent on 1. tankers and 2. Unfriendly Governments that can stop those tankers is in fact in our best interest.
Should Iran attempt (note I said... attempt) to close the Hormuz Straits what would oil prices do? If we were buying this oil instead of China would the price be more stable or not?
Oil is speculative is it not? Speculation on the lack of crude raises prices. Remember the 70's oil embargo remember the lines, gas prices jumped 100%, 200% more in some cases? What happened right after it was determined by both our Government AND it's people that we were going to lessen, not stop but just lessen our dependence on OPEC?
The price dropped why?
So logic follows that if we secure more oil from a secure source would you at least acknowledge that speculation on oil might stabilize?

We export gasoline. We produce a surplus. You have a fundamental misunderstanding about how global commodities work and are priced.

Absolutely not.
Prices will fluctuate worldwide to reflect the most threatened supply wherever that is. Even if the US was 100% energy independent, if Iran cut off Europe, our prices would reflect that because our companies would sell their oil to Europe. Our having a secure source has nothing to do with prices. Newt can't really wave his wand and lower US gas prices to $2.50 while the rest of the world pays much more. That's just more magical thinking about the economy.

Jeff speculation occurs on futures. Futures offer a way for a purchaser to bet on whether a commodity will increase in price down the road. What is at least a major source of price fluctuations?
Supply and Demand. Prices go high if the POTENTIAL of an oil shortage MIGHT occur.
SO your logic would be.. No matter how much oil flows into the Market from a SECURE and STABLE market speculation would still drive prices up?

This is so egregiously wrong that it almost has to be deliberate. Physical oil doesn’t change hands when speculators buy on the spot market. Future contracts are traded. The last thing a speculator wants is to take possession of actual oil. Oil is bought and sold an average of 17 times before it reaches the refinery.
Why do you think gas prices are rising? US refineries are operating at 87%, there is a backlog of oil waiting to be refined approaching a record amount, there is such a surplus of gasoline that we export over 400,000 barrels of gasoline a day.
Prices are rising because there is increasing instability in the Mid East. It does not matter that we do not get our oil from there. It would not matter if the US was 100% energy independent. Our gas and oil prices would still fluctuate and rise to the world market level.
You can't have your own private oil market here in the US that is somehow priced differently than the world commodity. It seems to me that you do not grasp that basic fact about markets.

Well, thanks for the effort but you're about a half-century too late to introduce me to speculation in the oil market.
The right's whole argument about the price of gasoline is bogus because they pretend that there is a US market in isolation starved for supply and if only the US increased domestic oil production enough it would lower gas prices. I hear y'all on the right constantly whining that Obama shut down drilling in the Gulf, the Dems won't open Anwar, the Keystone pipeline got killed, offshore leasing isn't going fast enough and all of these things have contributed to higher gas prices because Obama is starving production.
All the while, we have domestic oil production higher than the Bush years and we have such an enormous surplus of gasoline production that we export 400,000 barrels a day. The right's claim that increased production in the US will affect prices is totally bogus. That would be Newt claiming he can drill to $2.50/gallon gasoline.
It is a great political issue and it suits me if Obama gets beat up with it. It comes with the territory. But let's not pretend that it's anything but a political issue or that producing more gasoline, which would just be exported, will affect our gas prices.
If Obama wants the price of gasoline to go down, he should focus on cooling off the Israel-Iran conflict. That's why you're going to get $4/gal. gasoline.

However it is what it is.. There was no harm in allowing Keystone to continue. That's a fact Jeff. It could only help if for nothing more to help alleviate the Cushing constriction and allow the glut of Brent Oil to flow more freely.
The biggest issue I see is the Fed and the monetization of the debt. You see we issue bonds backed by our credit to oil producing Countries then devalue the dollar which is tied to the price of crude. Those bonds are sold to the Fed which then pays for them with newly "printed" dollars. Then those "excess" dollars are sent to oil producing Countries where they help to bid oil prices higher.
So we get a double whammy the Fed pushing up Inflation while devaluing the dollar. A true lose, lose for the American people.

AHG, as I have noted before, I purposely avoid meeting anyone blogging here to keep safe personal distance for wielding my sharp sword of truth! I don't know much about Cyclist's politics or stances on collards and Flo Rida and stuff, but I do know that Slindsey posts here on a daily basis on the evils of government! All I did was point out that his support for Keystone is support for a project that will rip private property out of the hands of US citizens by government force (eminent domain) and place it in the hands of a foreign entity! Do you NOT see the hypocrisy and lack of logic in that position? Is that NOT worth pointing out in a scathing manner?
As for my gas consumption, it consists mainly of ferrying my various progeny around town to excel at whatever activities they are engaging in at the moment! I don't worry about the price of gas anyway! It is what it is! I can't change it--all I can do is consume less if I think it is too expensive compared with the benefit in return! So far, the cost of a fill-up, no matter how high it has gotten, beats walking 250 miles or whatever you get on a tank!

So what is this about the current administration? If it were Bush or another Republican president was ramming through a project that snatches family lands out of the hands of grandma Bupkis out in Nebraska then it is okay? Suppose Mayor Haddix wants to run a cart path right through your living run to serve the 'greater good' of PTC? Are you okay with that?
As for physical confrontation, I avoid that at all costs! That is why I am a Ninja, operating under the cover of darkness and by the art of stealth and deception! I would not fight a 4'6" man, woman, or child let alone a 6'4" one!

the very symbol of what is bad about South Detroit, right here in our 3rd congressional district. One would never know they once manufactured mops in Grantville. The town has been put through the ringer and remains neglected by its most prominent son.
Perhaps Rep Westmoreland’s, or his friends, can put a oil pipeline through it? They can pump the oil, used in the tar, that makes the asphalt, that will pave the road, to complete the WFB.

Courting Maxine Waters
You know how when you start thinking about marrying someone - like a girl, you pay special attention to her mother so you can see what you will be living with in 20 or 30 years? It is the same type of research you should do when moving to a new area- take a good hard look at who the U.S. House Rep is for that district. Simple fact is the voters in that district elected him or her and chances are you will be living among at least some those that voted for that person. Maxine's district is not making my list of places to live. Of course we have the famous Hank Johnson/Cynthia McKinney district right across town.

The majority of residents in Maxine Waters district today will be adversely affected by higher gas prices. Most are wage earners who would not be able to afford the gas to get to work - if they have a job!! Heck! Many of Fayette County residents will be adversely affected with higher gas prices! Try as you will to tie the higher gas prices to Obama - the rest of the country will/do blame the oil companies. . . and they see the oil execs as Republican. We are being jerked around royally !!!
