The Sky is falling... The Sky is falling...
That's the new reason for Global cooling.
You heard that right.. the Sky is falling. According to NASA Clouds are now lower to the Earth then 10 years ago so this explains why
there has been no warming like they and good ole Al Gore predicted.
So let me get this straight there has been an overall increase in CO2 but yet no corresponding increase in temps like the Mann hockey stick
claimed there would be and the reason is lower clouds.
http://www.livescience.com/18604-cloud-heights-declining.html
It's the seventies all over again... A new Ice age will be the next scare tactic from the left. I wonder exactly how much that is going to cost us?
Why would anyone steal documents about global warming from the Heartland Institute? They could probably get them just for the asking from ExxonMobile, Heartland's sugar daddy. And what would he expect an oil companies shill organization to say about global warming anyway?
What an idiot. Throw him in jail.
I did, President Obama won easily.
I saw it. I've watched 15 out of 20 now. I have no reason why. I was disappointed. Santorum essentially destroyed himself. The Rs have to nominate Romney because the others are crazy. But with Santorum being so wacko as to take himself out of contention can the Rs possibly forget everything they know and circle back around to look at Newt one more time? Maybe they'll reason that surely he couldn't be as bad as he seemed two weeks ago, seemingly with virtually no chance of winning the election. Another look? Maybe he looks different now that he's the only, last-man-standing, not-Mitt.
You don't think they will actually consider Ron Paul as a serious, viable, not-Mitt do you?
Looks to me like Mitt might be inevitable after Super Tuesday if he wins Michigan next week. Of course I'd much prefer it to go on until the convention with Mitt dying the death of a thousand cuts. Alas, I think that's about over. Still, the Rs that don't like Mitt are legion, it's been the strangest political season ever, mounting desperation, millions and millions and millions of dollars, SuperPacs... who can predict anything? You'd think that Mitt's esteemed campaign could close the deal then you hear they're having Donald Trump do robo-calls for them, somehow imagining that's an asset instead of a farce and you realize that they are so out of touch that Mitt really could blow it all.
But I think not. It's getting close to the time that the amateurs got off the field and let the pros start playing.
Knowing the outcome of this process, why bother?
Republicans have their own unique way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They won't be able to defeat a person that is arguably the worst President in United States history.
With money and power, anyone could be elected president even Mr. Obama and he has plenty of both.
On a happier note, the election of a majority of Rupublicans in the Congress in both Houses in 2012 will effectively abrogate his power and thus bring the government to a standstill for four glorious years. What outcome could be better under this corrupt democratic system, a government that is paralyzed and does nothing at all!!

Happy for the Republican Party - very sad for the American people. A paralyzed government is no government at all.
...very sad that the Democratic party is failing the American people. I've never seen such an embodiment of the term 'tax & spend liberals'...it's really quite the teaching moment in our history.
as the ultimate nominee but the losers’ will still saddle the Republican’s with some pretty far out planks on their platform if they are going to keep all the pieces together.
That is the least they should do.
Hopefully after this the scaremongering will quiet down. But I doubt it..
Didn't you hear it's Global Cooling now..
IPCC scientist: Global cooling headed our way for the next 30 years?
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/01/11/ipcc-scientist-global-cooling-head...
It starts of with:
The subject of this article, Mojib Latif, has challenged the Daily Mail article and it’s interpretation. In another story at the Guardian, Latif says the interpretation by the Daily Mail and a similar story in the Telegraph is wrongly interpreting his work.
It doesn't seem like you've got a credible source when the scientist are saying the interpretation of their work that you are citing is crap.
Just ask Prepuce Obama.....
Obama: Use 'algae' as substitute for oil
-- you've got a bunch of algae out here," Obama said at the University of Miami today. "If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we'll be doing alright.
If only we could harness the energy from the wind produced when Michelle Obama eats too many collards, our energy problems would disappear!
What are you going to do on the day after election day and Michelle Obama is still the first lady of the US and will be for FOUR MORE YEARS!--Mexico or Canada?
The skank Michelle will still be first lady the day after election day. Her oversized posterior won't be tossed out until Jan 20, 2013 when the new Republican POTUS is sworn in. Jaggoff.
What are going to do when Michelle Obama is sitting in the White House the day after election day AND the day after President Obama is sworn in for a second term eating chef-prepared food off of fine China, while you are sitting in your rundown mobile home with your 32 cats, only 20 of which are still alive, eating grits and beans and WISHING you had some collards? I ask again, Canada or Mexico?
BTW, who's the GOP candidate that is going to win the election?
The only way for the GOP to win the next presidential election is for them to nominate Flo Rida!
You want a catchy motto, eh? How about Remember Enron, or Remember the do nothing 112th US House of Representatives, or maybe Remember Bush!
If you want to keep it positive, how about Remember GM and all those jobs, or Remember Pre-existing conditions, or even Remember Bin Laden.
Except for the falsified National Guard documents used against him what does he have to do with AGW?
Gort focus man focus.... I know Gort, Bush is to blame for everything.. and you know what he has his fair share to take... but.... I don't remember him pushing fake "Green" energy projects, spending Billions on bogus programs.
Now I may be wrong...but... I don't think so.
In fact Gort.. The Oil Industry is facing a New Tax this year. A tax if they fail to replace Crude oil stocks by 10% with the New Bio/Algae fuel.
There is one major problem... That fuel DOES NOT EXIST. However the mandate and TAX stays. So as we go into Summer with Government mandated boutique fuels and a crisis brewing in the Middle East. The Government forces the Oil Industry to pay a tax for failing to use the new bio-fuel that doesn't exist.
When you are paying $4-5 a gallon or more by Summer's end just remember why?
I know it won't matter to you being a staunch ideological puppet but when you pull that lever in November don't come crying to the rest of us that you had to pay such high prices for Gas and you couldn't afford to take a vacation this year. I for one am going to remind you of this post.
at least according to the current Secretary of Energy Steven Chu....
“Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” Where it is now more than $10 a gallon. In that sense, is the gas spike an opportunity for more green energy?
Now where is that Maxine Waters and her "we're going to socialize" - err she meant nationalize - those evil oil companies because of the price at the pump.
If this administration gets their way we will see $10.00 a gallon soon and bicycles will cost a fortune.
Maybe we should buy stock in Schwinn.
in vaginal probes. That’s the trend the Republican Party is taking these days.
Is that what you guys are talking about when you say, “Drill baby Drill?”
Dems investments in Vag probes... Let's not forget Big bill Clinton and the aptly named wiener..

My attempt at humor illudes you .

I try not to opine on such Political rhetoric and bovine intestinal by product....
Just my crude take
I got to thinking about this Keystone pipeline. Now, how in the world would they build an oil pipeline all the way from Canada to Texas? Hmm, does the federal government own ALL the land that the proposed pipeline is to traverse?
Turns out, NOT! Now, how would such a project get built? Well, with the power of eminent domain! Seems that TransCanada has been scoping out all the land needed for the pipeline and making low-ball offers to the landowners. If the landowners don't feel like selling their land to a foreign entity, then TransCanada seems them nasty letters saying that they will get the land one way or another using the power of eminent domain!
Question of the day? Why is Slindsey advocating the takeover of US land by a foreign entity?
Choose from the answers below.
A. He is stupid
B. He is a traitor
C. He is a closet communist
C. ALL of the above
I say D.
..
Phase 1 is already in operation and is suppling "dilbit" to the ConocoPhillips refinery at Wood River, Ill. Phase 2 is constructed and waiting for Keystone XL to come on-line.
Last August, the EPA acknowledged in it's final report that Keystone XL would pose no significant impacts. So given that this so-called evil brew is already transported into Illinois for refinement and the EPA has bought off on this why does the president have to hold up his decision until next year on XL? It seems awfully political to me.
As for those eminent domain lawsuits lets see how that gets vetted in court. The question before the court is wether it is a private pipeline or a common carrier? The outcome of that will be most interesting.
Well, the Supremes have already ruled that eminent domain can be used for private projects.
So, the matter is not actually whether it is a private project or common carrier as you say, but whether the project proceeds AT ALL. If it proceeds, the private property of private citizens WILL be confiscated by the government and handed over to the private foreign entity TransCanada with the backing of the semi-closeted communist Slindsey et al, just so he can fill up his Subaru Forester with cheaper gas!
Pinkos!
From Wiki:
Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005)[1] was a case decided by the Supreme Court of the United States involving the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private owner to another to further economic development. The case arose from the condemnation by New London, Connecticut, of privately owned real property so that it could be used as part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan which promised 3,169 new jobs and $1.2 million a year in tax revenues. The Court held in a 5–4 decision that the general benefits a community enjoyed from economic growth qualified such redevelopment plans as a permissible "public use" under the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment.
Personally thought that SCOTUS decision a bad one. Now, tell us how you transport around the County----moped, Harley, or is that magic carpet still in competition with Hawk 1? Other than those, guess you have to buy a fair amt of gasoline like the rest of us---and don't you think that the pipeline would help to increase the supply of gasoline or do you think the Refiners would just sell more than they do now to other countries who are willing to pay more? And it's very obvious you've never had a personal conversation with Steve Lindsey--perhaps not so wise to judge so quickly unless you personally know the source. Ditto on seemingly thrusting Cyclist in that same category.
The Keystone pipeline would do nothing for US gasoline supplies except to make more for export. The US is awash in gasoline. In fact, we are exporting a net of more than 430,000 barrels of gasoline a day. We also export diesel and jet fuel.
Gasoline: The new big U.S. export
If we do Keystone, it will only replace an existing supplier and we get the vast majority of our oil from Canada then Saudi Arabia then Mexico then everybody else and only miniscule amounts from the Mid East.
In any event, build Keystone or not, it will not affect the price of gasoline.
A couple of reports from NPR were done on the Keystone XL pipeline.
http://www.npr.org/2012/02/25/147413520/ranchers-land-becomes-ground-zer...
http://www.npr.org/2012/02/26/147451538/what-happens-if-the-keystone-xl-...
But....
Would it further decrease our demand potentially from OPEC?
Would a more secure source of oil from our partner to the North be beneficial to us or not?
Does the cancellation of this project help us or hurt us in the long term?
Does the cancellation of this project help or hurt China and is that good or bad for us?
You see Jeff our Strategic future to secure a viable and plentiful source of oil that is not dependent on 1. tankers and 2. Unfriendly Governments that can stop those tankers is in fact in our best interest.
Should Iran attempt (note I said... attempt) to close the Hormuz Straits what would oil prices do? If we were buying this oil instead of China would the price be more stable or not?
Oil is speculative is it not? Speculation on the lack of crude raises prices. Remember the 70's oil embargo remember the lines, gas prices jumped 100%, 200% more in some cases? What happened right after it was determined by both our Government AND it's people that we were going to lessen, not stop but just lessen our dependence on OPEC?
The price dropped why?
So logic follows that if we secure more oil from a secure source would you at least acknowledge that speculation on oil might stabilize?
So many questions with so many assumptions.
We export gasoline. We produce a surplus. You have a fundamental misunderstanding about how global commodities work and are priced.
So logic follows that if we secure more oil from a secure source would you at least acknowledge that speculation on oil might stabilize?
Absolutely not.
Prices will fluctuate worldwide to reflect the most threatened supply wherever that is. Even if the US was 100% energy independent, if Iran cut off Europe, our prices would reflect that because our companies would sell their oil to Europe. Our having a secure source has nothing to do with prices. Newt can't really wave his wand and lower US gas prices to $2.50 while the rest of the world pays much more. That's just more magical thinking about the economy.
What would a Carter know about what causes oil price fluctuation? After all, didn't Jimmah was responsible for the gas lines during his tenure?
Jeff thinks that the magical thinking about the economy can only come from Obama. You know, the typical tax and spend, spread the wealth, bedwetting liberal tripe.
Hey Joe, I thought the lines were longer in 1973, when Republican President Nixon was the man in charge.
Come to think of it, didn’t we have a fuel shortage during President George W. Bush’s second term of office? He never could get those Iraqi oil fields to pay for the war like they promised, could he?
After all, didn't Jimmah was responsible for the gas lines during his tenure?
It’s always funny when you throw in one of your banal comments and its incomprehensibility speaks to your intellect and comprehension so much better than anything I could come up with.
All you have to do is google 'Carter gas shortage'.
Of course Jimmah had solar panels installed on top of the White House and had a wood burning stove installed in the living quarters to show that he was ready to lead the nation towards energy independence. How incomprehensible.
Line at a gas station, June 15, 1979
Perception is reality, Jeff-o.....
If perception was reality, I could just flush and you'd be gone.
I'm not one your goldfish that you forgot to feed.
I ate too much last night. I gotta go take a Jimmah and wipe my JeffC.
fixated on the price of gasoline! I've been buying gas for many decades now and the price at any level--high, low, or in between--has NOT made my life happier, better, sadder or worse at anytime! It seems like y'all'uns jump out of your holes in the ground each and every day and check on the price of regular to determine if you are going to smile or frown the whole dad gum day! Wake up and smell the collards y'all! Life is about more than the price of gasoline! The president is NOT responsible for the price of it either! Take control of something you have control over like your hogs, dogs, and other varmits walking around loose and unleashed in our fine and pristine city! Times a wastin! Mind what John Barrow has to say on the side of all his trucks--"Behold, I am coming quickly!" St. Peter ain't gonna quiz you on the price of gasoline in Peoria!
Ninja, its not that we are worried about the price of gas. We are talking about gas prices because nobody was that interested in talking about SLinsey’s "The Sky is Falling."
that people talk so much about the price of gasoline and try to lay blame for price fluctuations on the president of the US! I must ponder this phenomenon more deeply! Did you know that getting 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep is actually unnatural! Seems that the natural sleep pattern used to be two four-hour stretches, with a two-hour awake period in between! And you thought it was just your prostate talking! Go figure!
At my age I no longer worry about getting 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep.
that people talk so much about the price of gasoline and try to lay blame for price fluctuations on the president of the US! I must ponder this phenomenon more deeply!
Ponder this while you're at it Nimrod boy....
Pelosi Blamed ‘Oil Men in the White House’ for Gas Prices in ’08
Although you are not smart enough to understand that the president of the US has no control over gas prices, I'm pretty sure that ex-speaker Pelosi is! Politicians in all parties lay blame for higher gas prices on the other party and the sitting president despite gas prices being set by the market! The reason they do this is because of the general public's FIXATION on gas prices! It's like throwing collards in the street in Brooks--the crowd will go wild! When Newt was in GA recently, we was promising the locals $2.50/gal gasoline and trucks big enough to hold GUN RACKS! Like I said, I need to ponder on this simple-minded fixation with gasoline prices a while longer! Meanwhile, get the dead cats out of your living room before the neighbors call animal control or you wind up on that 'Extreme Hoarders' TV show I saw once at a Howard Johnson's outside of Albuquerque!
Sorry your logic does not follow any known factual accounts either past or present.
Jeff speculation occurs on futures. Futures offer a way for a purchaser to bet on whether a commodity will increase in price down the road. What is at least a major source of price fluctuations?
Supply and Demand. Prices go high if the POTENTIAL of an oil shortage MIGHT occur.
SO your logic would be.. No matter how much oil flows into the Market from a SECURE and STABLE market speculation would still drive prices up?
Sorry Jeff that's simply illogical. Markets and Economies does not work that way. No wonder most people think the Rich don't pay their fair share.
Mark was absolutely correct Government and most people can't understand the simple basics of a Free Market Capitalism Society. Thus it is doomed to fail.
"A speculator wanting to drive up the current price of oil would have to buy in the spot market. Since the price is determined in a cash marketplace where transactions are settled with physical oil changing hands, speculative buyers would have to store their purchases, and inventories would rise. Instead, during the oil price run-up in 2007 and 2008, inventories in the U.S. were being depleted. Chart 3 shows WTI prices and U.S. oil inventories and illustrates the workings of an efficient market—as supplies diminish, prices rise and the market tightens."
http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2011/10/did-speculation...
More supply that is both stable and quick to market would hold speculation of futures to a manageable level Jeff.
You are quiet simply wrong.
going to lead the charge, guns blazing, to help the US government rip the land right out of the hands of US citizens to turn it over to TransCanada? Better get some armor plates for your Subaru Forester! I hear those Nebraskans are pretty tough and don't take kindly to outsiders conspiring to steal their land! They might even break the Occupy Atlanta groups's distance record for tossing your semi-closeted socialist butt through the air!
but some how don't think you really would like the results...
btw ninj this is one of the LEGITIMATE functions of Government. National Security trumps ownership rights.
Having property taken for a Walmart let's say is not in the National intrest nor is it for National Security so ergo it therefore would not be a legitimate function of Government.
The Price Per Linear Foot (or Rod)
"Pipeline Companies primarily compensates the Landowner for the easement by a payment per linear foot (or rod). Where an oil and gas lease bonus pays the mineral owner an amount per acre, an Easement Agreement pays the Landowner a price per foot (or rod) of the property the pipeline passes."
Besides there ninj ole buddy what was the difference in Keystone and the Alberta Clipper Canada-to-America pipeline approved by President Obama in 2009?
mighty thin there with your national security argument! You really think the US is at imminent danger if Keystone is NOT completed--NOT in your most fantastical Subaru Forester dreams! Also, the Supreme Court HAS ruled that taking private land for commercial development like shopping centers IS a PROPER FUNCTION of government, as in the Connecticut case! Stop being so naive Slindsey, you know the government--give em an inch and they take a mile!
I don't really see any difference in the Clipper pipeline and Keystone! They are both depriving people of their private property!
But, I guess you are the expert on compensation per linear rod!
A speculator wanting to drive up the current price of oil would have to buy in the spot market. Since the price is determined in a cash marketplace where transactions are settled with physical oil changing hands, speculative buyers would have to store their purchases, and inventories would rise.
This is so egregiously wrong that it almost has to be deliberate. Physical oil doesn’t change hands when speculators buy on the spot market. Future contracts are traded. The last thing a speculator wants is to take possession of actual oil. Oil is bought and sold an average of 17 times before it reaches the refinery.
Why do you think gas prices are rising? US refineries are operating at 87%, there is a backlog of oil waiting to be refined approaching a record amount, there is such a surplus of gasoline that we export over 400,000 barrels of gasoline a day.
Prices are rising because there is increasing instability in the Mid East. It does not matter that we do not get our oil from there. It would not matter if the US was 100% energy independent. Our gas and oil prices would still fluctuate and rise to the world market level.
You can't have your own private oil market here in the US that is somehow priced differently than the world commodity. It seems to me that you do not grasp that basic fact about markets.
You alluded to the fact that increased oil supply would have no effect on prices.
I introduced you to the World of Oil Speculation and as to why a stable and secure source close to home would in fact slow down wild speculation and you want to quibble about rather someone on the spot market actually possesses the oil??????
Ok I get it Jeff.
Well, thanks for the effort but you're about a half-century too late to introduce me to speculation in the oil market.
The right's whole argument about the price of gasoline is bogus because they pretend that there is a US market in isolation starved for supply and if only the US increased domestic oil production enough it would lower gas prices. I hear y'all on the right constantly whining that Obama shut down drilling in the Gulf, the Dems won't open Anwar, the Keystone pipeline got killed, offshore leasing isn't going fast enough and all of these things have contributed to higher gas prices because Obama is starving production.
All the while, we have domestic oil production higher than the Bush years and we have such an enormous surplus of gasoline production that we export 400,000 barrels a day. The right's claim that increased production in the US will affect prices is totally bogus. That would be Newt claiming he can drill to $2.50/gallon gasoline.
It is a great political issue and it suits me if Obama gets beat up with it. It comes with the territory. But let's not pretend that it's anything but a political issue or that producing more gasoline, which would just be exported, will affect our gas prices.
If Obama wants the price of gasoline to go down, he should focus on cooling off the Israel-Iran conflict. That's why you're going to get $4/gal. gasoline.
remember?
However it is what it is.. There was no harm in allowing Keystone to continue. That's a fact Jeff. It could only help if for nothing more to help alleviate the Cushing constriction and allow the glut of Brent Oil to flow more freely.
The biggest issue I see is the Fed and the monetization of the debt. You see we issue bonds backed by our credit to oil producing Countries then devalue the dollar which is tied to the price of crude. Those bonds are sold to the Fed which then pays for them with newly "printed" dollars. Then those "excess" dollars are sent to oil producing Countries where they help to bid oil prices higher.
So we get a double whammy the Fed pushing up Inflation while devaluing the dollar. A true lose, lose for the American people.
There once was a man named von Mises,
Who looked at the socialist pieces,
Of theory and said,
We’re better off dead,
Life’s better when freedom increases.
Please let the good and dead LVM rest in peace! We do not need to resurrect that tangled and never-ending black-hole of a subject on this esteemed forum ever again!
You are right. What was I thinking? Let's not bring up the unnamed and anyway he has passed way.
Which brings to mind another limerick:
Von Mises has turned up quite dead.
We now follow Krugman instead.
Now Keynesians rule
over those Austrian fools.
Let's print some more money to spread.
SLindsey, are you claiming that the Keystone XL pipeline has been cancelled?
Like the Samurai he too is more Myth then anything else.
He is definitely a legend in his own mind.
AHG, as I have noted before, I purposely avoid meeting anyone blogging here to keep safe personal distance for wielding my sharp sword of truth! I don't know much about Cyclist's politics or stances on collards and Flo Rida and stuff, but I do know that Slindsey posts here on a daily basis on the evils of government! All I did was point out that his support for Keystone is support for a project that will rip private property out of the hands of US citizens by government force (eminent domain) and place it in the hands of a foreign entity! Do you NOT see the hypocrisy and lack of logic in that position? Is that NOT worth pointing out in a scathing manner?
As for my gas consumption, it consists mainly of ferrying my various progeny around town to excel at whatever activities they are engaging in at the moment! I don't worry about the price of gas anyway! It is what it is! I can't change it--all I can do is consume less if I think it is too expensive compared with the benefit in return! So far, the cost of a fill-up, no matter how high it has gotten, beats walking 250 miles or whatever you get on a tank!
Something tells me you don't have a clue about TransCanada's current footprint inthe US--lemme tell you--it's huge! Do you feel threatened? And whatI see in SLindsey's posts is his opinion about the current administration's actions/inactions, not the "evils of Government." And I don't think I'd be introducing the thought of physical activity with SLindsey unless I had someone at my six in the distance with a Barrett.
I hope that you are well. Nunja does not have to worry about meeting Steve Lindsey - massive he is, though a teddy bear in temperment. Although Ninja is at times lucid or even intelligent on these blogs, he is most likely a milquetoast who would not want to meet bloggers in person. Cheers to you, Nunja, though :-)
been on the road again? Ya'know it appears to me, if some poster had opinions (that he believes are truths) he would be willing to meet with fellow posters for illuminated discussion! Hell, he might even learn something--besides meeting some loyal Americans of good intention and character! Assuming, of course, that he could recognize either or both. Clearly he walks a line much different than the thin gray one!
on the road right now. and have been doing so for weeks it seems. I miss the libs on here. Oh well
I told you before and I will say it again, you and Veritas serve to keep my worst inclinations in check, but not all the time! Though once strong and strapping, many years of non-physical activity has left me more milquetoastish than I would like! I joined a gym but it seems you actually have to go there to get any benefit! Also, my wooden leg prosthesis is full of termites and might crumble if I put too much stress on it it, and my insurance carrier is prohibited by the Church of the Animist Brethren and Ninja Warrior Philosophers from paying for replacement coverage!
AHG, you don't get my drift! I don't feel threatened by TransCanda, Flo Rida, his baby mommas, terrorists, collard eaters, or Wyoming engineers! It's Slindsey's illogical thinking that threatens me! It scares me that I might wind up shopping the aisles of Wal-Mart alongside him or his relatives one day and they might trample me with their size 16s trying to get to the price-rolled-back spicy Slim Jims on the high shelf!
So what is this about the current administration? If it were Bush or another Republican president was ramming through a project that snatches family lands out of the hands of grandma Bupkis out in Nebraska then it is okay? Suppose Mayor Haddix wants to run a cart path right through your living run to serve the 'greater good' of PTC? Are you okay with that?
As for physical confrontation, I avoid that at all costs! That is why I am a Ninja, operating under the cover of darkness and by the art of stealth and deception! I would not fight a 4'6" man, woman, or child let alone a 6'4" one!
Besides, I can see Slindsey coming a mile away in his pink-camoed, armor-plated, Subaru Forester with the 50-cal mounted on top!
You're wrong about that--it's an M134!
I'm not too particularly happy about "Roe" but it's the law of the realm so I have moved on.
BTW, when you went to the gas station to fill up your Ninja jalopy did you think about Colonial Pipeline and eminent domain or were you just happy to get the gas?
Cyclist, don’t take what Maxine Waters says so literal.
In my cul-de-sac in Coweta County, our neighborhood watch has had pickets out since last year when it was announced, the Maxine Waters Army was on the march. They haven’t reported back anything yet and I’m beginning to think the whole business was just a bunch of right wing hype.
she was pretty adamant when she spoke.
And just think, if I was still out California I would be living in her Congressional district.
Here's a clip of Maxine at her finest:
Cyclist, sorry buddy, I just can’t watch Faux News. I’ve tried but I always feel dirty afterward and it’s so hard to scrub off the stench.
website - Democratic Underground.com - headlined that FoxNews Smears Maxine Waters -- Accuses Her Of Wanting to Nationalize the Oil Industry. She did pretty darn good job of doing that without Fox.
But then you can't take her seriously..........right?
And then there is Newt and $2.50 a gallon gasoline.....please
Cyclist, I don’t read Democratic Underground either but I did Google it up. Looks like a blog to me.
Do you really think Newt Getrich can get you $2.50 gasoline in a rising economy?
No.
Cyclist, do you think Rep. Westmoreland will ever flex his political muscle to clean up his home town of Grantville?
I've never been there. Have I missed something?
the very symbol of what is bad about South Detroit, right here in our 3rd congressional district. One would never know they once manufactured mops in Grantville. The town has been put through the ringer and remains neglected by its most prominent son.
Perhaps Rep Westmoreland’s, or his friends, can put a oil pipeline through it? They can pump the oil, used in the tar, that makes the asphalt, that will pave the road, to complete the WFB.
Detroit per capita income $14,213
Grantville per capita income $19,682
Population of Detroit - 713,777
Population of Grantville - 1,355
Abandoned homes in Detroit- 77,000 estimated 2009
Abandoned homes in Grantville- 2 per County records
Detroit suicides per year - 32.5 for every 100,000
National Average per year - 7.5 for every 100,000
Grantville Suicides per year - Statistical average to low to tabulate.
I think that about sums it up.
SLindsey,.. Rep. Westmoreland’s neglected hometown of Grantville just look likes South Detroit. I never asked his to clean up Detroit.
Hahahaaaaahaaa ... What a do nothing joke wheeeee...whewww
Good one Gort
Veritas, join me in my campaign to inspire Rep. Westmoreland to clean up his home town of Grantville.
should be sold/given away to Spalding County, so should Grantville to Meriwether County, if they will take it! They are beyond hope! The Scots-Irish mentality is rooted too deep there!
Ninja, you may be right but I still must try to get Grantville cleaned up by its most prominent son, Rep. Westmoreland.
Even a branch office of Jordan Salvage would be an improvement.
You know how when you start thinking about marrying someone - like a girl, you pay special attention to her mother so you can see what you will be living with in 20 or 30 years? It is the same type of research you should do when moving to a new area- take a good hard look at who the U.S. House Rep is for that district. Simple fact is the voters in that district elected him or her and chances are you will be living among at least some those that voted for that person. Maxine's district is not making my list of places to live. Of course we have the famous Hank Johnson/Cynthia McKinney district right across town.
is shifting congressional districts and changes due to demographics such as maturing neighborhoods and such. Growing up, I never seen a taco vendor pushing his cart around nor security bars on doors and windows. Now both are the norms. I'm glad I'm out of there.
The majority of residents in Maxine Waters district today will be adversely affected by higher gas prices. Most are wage earners who would not be able to afford the gas to get to work - if they have a job!! Heck! Many of Fayette County residents will be adversely affected with higher gas prices! Try as you will to tie the higher gas prices to Obama - the rest of the country will/do blame the oil companies. . . and they see the oil execs as Republican. We are being jerked around royally !!! IMO
Now why on this earth would anyone do that???? (eyes rolling)
But you know that Steven Chu is the president's hand picked man to manage his energy program.
And ole Maxine, well bless her little heart she is what she is; a follower of all those that maintain that the state should control the economy because......well becasue it's for the people (La Internationale playing in the background)
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." --President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1952

Eisenhower respected the Republican Party - and the country respected him. He was a wise man. . .and he was so right!! (IMO)
You betcha.
Now explain to me how he was able to execute "Operation Wetback" without all of this liberal crying and grandstanding about those poor Hispanics.
This article shed a little light on a possible answer. It seems some conservatives liked the cheap labor as well as some liberals.
If you can't prove AGW aka Man-Caused Global Warming then you just make it up.

But yet our President and the Progressive Left will still cry the Sky is falling throwing Billions at "Green" energy projects which has about as much chance of becoming a real source of energy anytime soon as an ice cube in Hell.
In Texas to remember the Fighting Spirit they have a motto... Remember the Alamo.
We should have one as well.... Remember Solyndra.
