collards. We are really suffering from collard overload lately. Isn't there anything else coming out of the garden these days? How about some rutabaga or kale, anything for a change.

The collard theme seems to have run its course. I've been trying to get the Flo Rida theme going, but it hasn't gain any traction despite him being the Mozart of the current generation!

Romney, Gingrich -nah, he probably said that long time ago to his mistresses. Or maybe it should be "If you wanna Ride(a) with me, you gotta go with the Flo." ?

Beirut and Falafels
I never went to Beirut, but I met an Israeli guy that fought there back in the 80s! Did not sound fun! I fell in love with Falafels while living in Europe! Never have found any good ones in Jahjuh, so thanks for the tip on the eatery. I will make one of my progeny join me on a visit there!

Only there once and only at the airport. Know it was once a choice assignment for many Govt folks. Was leader of a 5-person team that had done a special job in Thailand for 3 wks and enroute back to Wash.DC. Bought a bottle of Scotch in the terminal and (rightly or wrongly) we consumed it in transit.

Obama is taking money away from the failed ponzi scheme of Social Security system that Eisenhower touted. He's having people pay less money into an already bankrupt system.
Of course, for those that are intelligent, they are taking the whopping $40/month from the payroll tax cut and investing it in their 401K or IRA.
It's partial privitization of SS, something the GW Bush tried to get passed without luck because of the democrats (The party of "NO")
