Are you kidding me...

... you find an event only worthy if it's written up in the paper, press coverage? Good grief, what is inside your head, no, make that, what is inside your heart? The value of the event is what they do with the funds raised, this is a fund raiser, not a party festival.

The money gained from the chili challenge goes RIGHT BACK into the local community to support organizations that help and aide children with physical and mental disabilities. It's that reason as to why this event "is worthy" to attend and participate.

Look in a mirror would you and then try to respond!

Chili cook-off

This is the kind of local event/local news that separates(or usually does) The Citizen from the AJC or other online news. I think the ball was kind of dropped here on the coverage. Some of us like The Citizen for other reasons besides the politics and petty mud-slinging from the local bitch-and-moan crowd.

You have utterly missed my point. Your post is 100% correct and I could not agree more. That is PRECISELY why it must be publicized and not relegated to a mere two-sentence caption. It's been 6 days- can we not get a write-up on the website and eventually the print version about this great event which raises much-needed money for children in need? You're making the point for me- this has to be publicized and there isn't even an update on the Line Creek Civitan website! So, no one is kidding you and no one needs to look in a mirror. Rather than directing misguided vitriol in my direction, why not ask why there isn't more coverage of this? It is important, right?

Weather was great for the event..

that is for sure. I will agree, I thought there would more of a write up, lots of events went on that day at the Park/Amphitheater.

Line Creek Civitan Chili Cookoff?

Indeed. I saw Boylan there and naturally anticipated some kind of write-up beyond a few pictures and a brief, two-sentence caption. And the Line Creek Civitan website hasn't worked in days thought it seems to be finally working now. www.linecreekcivitan.org

It's a missed opportunity to strike while the iron is hot. The event just happened, attendance was up, people are going to be curious and want some information. If it's not important enough to write-up, maybe it's not important enough to attend next year.

Not sure how they two relate.
