Important cheese revisited

I went by the Fresh Market yesterday around 4 p.m. I was mildly surprised to see it crowded at that time of day. Good to see people are supporting this place, even after the "new store novelty" wears off.

Bought some important cheese. Fontina, to be exact.

Okay, how do you know when a cheese is important? Does it wear

a sign? Does it smell better or does it smell worse> I know we have a lot of people around, even some on this blog site, who think they are important cheeses and some of them even smell to high heaven--so are they really important or just a case of swollen ego--or are they just imported cheeses who think they are important.

Still haven't made it inside Fresh Market yet---crowds are too big and that parking lot is an insame asylum on wheels. It always amazes me how people get so crazy at openings, leaving ball games, etc. They will drive everywhere, ignore every rule of the road--and the pedestrians are no better---all for free samples of important cheese! Go figure. I will wait until the crowds thin out--I am sure it will be there in another week or two--sure hope so anyway!

Important cheese

I know you've been gone for a while, mytmite, so I'll help you catch up....feature write Joyce Beverly was recently promoted to Citizen Cheese Critic (and yes, there are rumors she slept with the publisher to get this position).

Joyce's first official action was to declare the Fresh Market an emporium of "important cheese" LINK TO STORY

This designation resulted in massive crowds at the Market yesterday....as the old saying goes: Behold The Power Of Cheese

Parmesan Reggiano

That 100 pound cheese wheel in the back of the Fresh Market...that was Parmesan Reggiano, yes?

(I have to admit I burst out laughing when I read the headline of this article...glad to see a sense of humor!)

100 Pound Cheese?

Now we call that THE BIG CHEESE! The bigger question we now have to ask ourselves..."Who cut the cheese?"....

Sorry, it's late, I couldn't resist.

Welcome Fresh Market

It was delightful wandering through this well organized store looking at all they have to offer! Also enjoyed chatting with neighbors and friends. The market is a little more expensive than Trader Joes (haven't been there for a while-so I may be wrong) - but with gas prices rising everyday-welcome Fresh Market to Fayette County!
