Whitewater band performs at Disney park

The Whitewater High School Wildcat Marching Band became stars of their own Disney show March 21 when they entertained guests in Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort. They traveled more than 400 miles from to take part in the Disney Performing Arts Program.

The student performers, under the direction of Jack Jean and Rob Truan, greeted the guests of the park as they marched down Main Street, U.S.A. taking them past Cinderella Castle. The students helped get the crowd excited before the “Main Street Electrical Parade.” Read More»

SOCCER: Defeated Whitewater (boys) 6-0 behind two goals by Diego Milesi as well as two goals and assist by Ryan Grbac. Matthew Sherry had several impressive saves. The girls lost to Whitewater 8-0.

Cofer leads local All-State selections

Phil Cofer of Whitewater was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s AAAAA All-State first team, one of several local players ranked among the best in their respective classifications for the 2013-14 season.

Cofer averaged 19.3 points per game for the Wildcats, who finished with Region 4-AAAAA’s best record in the regular season and reached the first round of the state playoffs.

The 6-8 power forward has signed to play for the University of Tennessee. Read More»

TENNIS: Fell 4-1 and 4-1 to ELCA. Skylar Mortensen had the lone girls’ win, and Michaels Edwards picked up the only boys’ win.



BASEBALL: Beat Forest Park 20-2 in five innings. The Chiefs scored seven runs in the first, seven in the second and six in the fourth.

LACROSSE: Won 16-9 over Lovett (girls) to remain undefeated. Shelby Durden led with five goals, followed by Tulah Blanton and Abby Ott with three apiece and Maddie Prescott with two.



TENNIS: Lost a pair of matches this week to ELCA and AIS.
