Frady, Horgan and Hearn guilty of fiscal irresponsibility on West Bypass

Many of us Fayette citizens are appalled at Fayette Commission Chairman Herb Frady’s lack of respect for open government.

Commissioner Steve Brown had every right to speak on the West Fayetteville Bypass during the commissioner reports section of the meeting and Chairman Frady knows it.

Chairman Frady needs to know that if he is going to be a leader, he needs to be ready to accept some criticism. Chairman Frady, unfortunately, is not ready to be big enough to allow words of disapproval regarding his pro-developer stance on the “road to nowhere” labeled the West Fayetteville Bypass. Frady not worthy to be chairman of commission

Last [month] the citizens of this county witnessed an absolute travesty as the new commissioner chairman, Mr. Frady, threatened to silence another commissioner, Mr. Steve Brown.

Mr. Frady’s behavior was appalling and in no way necessary. Last I checked this was not a dictatorship; this was an elected position that was to represent the citizens of this county. Mr. Frady has proven he is not worthy of holding the chairman position and elections cannot come soon enough. Read More»

Frady gavels down dissenting views

Fayette County Commission Chairman Herb Frady’s reprehensible behavior at Thursday night’s commission meeting was beyond belief. Mr. Frady’s actions were the worst example of leadership and censorship I have ever witnessed. Mr. Frady owes the public and Commissioner Brown an apology and should step down as chairman.

When Commissioner Brown tried to speak during the Commissioner Report section of the meeting about the West Fayetteville Bypass, Frady shouted him down, banged the gavel and told him he was out of order. Read More»

Frady’s censorship resembles Soviets

Thursday night’s display at the Fayette County Commission Meeting was the most flagrant case of censorship that I have personally ever witnessed.

The First Amendment to The Constitution Of The United States of America reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Read More»

The public vs. ‘immovable’ Frady, Horgan, Hearn, Krakeel

At our Jan. 27 County Board of Commissioners meeting, the general public got to see my wanting to move on an issue versus the immovable Chairman Herb Frady.

I ran for a county commission post to make things happen; and if those things do not happen through public pressure, I try to make them happen.

There is a core group made up of Chairman Frady, Commissioners Lee Hearn and Robert Horgan and County Administrator Jack Krakeel who are desperately trying to become an immovable force, especially when the issue happens to be the West Fayetteville Bypass. Read More»

‘Furious Frady’ now dictator of his new banana republic, Fayette

The new Fayette County Commission Chairman Herb Frady did a magnificent job of demonstrating why he could never get a second to his nomination for the chairman’s post in the past.

Chairman Herb Frady tried to keep Commissioner Steve Brown from speaking out on the West Fayetteville Bypass at the Jan. 27 Board of Commissioners meeting. Even though Brown followed the procedure, Furious Frady pounded the gavel on the dais and yelled that he removed Brown’s item from the agenda. Read More»

Frady acting like ‘spoiled child’; voters should take note for 2012

Fayette County voters elected two new county commissioners because they promised to push for term limits, transparency and to stop construction of the West Fayetteville Bypass.

Anyone who has attended commission meetings knows that [commissioners Lee] Hearn and [Robert] Horgan are voting in lockstep with Chairman [Herb] Frady against everything Steve Brown has proposed. Read More»

1st-time attendee ‘shocked’ by Frady’s yells

Last Thursday night I attended my first Fayette Commissioners meeting. I see a sheriff’s deputy sitting near the commissioners. I see next to him three reporters. We all stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by prayer. Less than 20 seconds later, the pledge and prayer were “Gone With the Wind.”

I was shocked, to say the least, to witness Chairman Herb Frady yelling not only to Steve Brown, but to the citizens that took turns with their five-minute speeches to commissioners. Read More»

Go see what’s happening at commission

Fayette County government wants to confiscate land from our neighbors to build a road to nowhere and waste millions of your tax dollars in the process. Why this should be an important concern to you?

1. If this can happen to these neighbors, it can happen to you. 2. It is your tax dollars and they should be spent wisely. 3. Your silence gives the government a blank check and the confidence to do whatever they want. Read More»

Ramsey’s immigration bill needs your help

It’s gratifying to see that Georgia is now dealing head on with its share of a vexing national issue: illegal aliens. Representative Matt Ramsey last week submitted the thoughtful, meaningful, and necessary “Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act of 2011” to address the many aspects that unlawful entry into the U.S. has on our state.

Many illegal aliens come here to avoid corruption and consequences of capricious edicts and loosely or selectively enforced laws, so it is paradoxically inappropriate that their very first act coming here is to break the law. Read More»
