Man in critical condition after beating

An incident at a central Fayette County residence shortly after midnight Nov. 14 resulted in a man being left in critical condition after he was severely beaten in the head with a baseball bat.

Emmanuel Landeros-Lopez, 23, of Fayetteville, was charged with aggravated battery and is being held in the Fayette County Jail without bond, according to Sheriff Barry Babb. Read More»

Kuss and Mays, representing the Blue Angels, flew in to discuss logistics for the Great Georgia Airshow Oct. 31, 2015, of which they will be a part. The Blue Angels are the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration squadron. A total of 16 officers voluntarily serve with the Blue Angels. A public hearing on a rezoning proposal that would locate a 62,000 sq. ft. Marriott Residence Inn in the largely vacant Kedron Office Park was tabled by a 3-1 vote at the Nov. 10 meeting of the Peachtree City Planning Commission. Palmetto man is arrested in convenience store robbery

A Palmetto man has been charged with the Nov. 9 armed robbery of a convenience store on U.S. Highway 29 in north Coweta County.

Sean Thomas Staples, 33, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with armed robbery, according to Sgt. Jason Fetner of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Fetner said the armed robbery occurred during the evening hours at the Mini Mart on Hwy. 29 in north Coweta County.

Staples entered the building, briefly cased the store and departed. He returned approximately 20 minutes later, Fetner said. Staples then produced a handgun and robbed the cashier, Fetner added. Read More»
