UWG campus gets additional funds

The University of West Georgia (UWG) has received additional $2.6 million in funding for the renovation of its new campus in Newnan. UWG will continue to hold classes this year at its current location and anticipates opening the new campus on Jackson Street in August 2015 where it will serve 1,000 students. Read More»

Forklift used in F'ville ATM theft

A forklift being used on a remodeling project at a restaurant on Ga. Highway 85 South at the Summit Point shopping center was used to steal an ATM machine at the nearby Delta Community Credit Union office in the early morning hours of Aug. 21.

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners recently issued a proclamation in support of the upcoming Cancer Wellness 5K Walk to benefit Thomas F. Chapman Family Cancer Center at Piedmont Fayette and Piedmont Newnan Hospitals. The Walk will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 9 a.m. at Drake Field, 151 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City.
