School system seeks stakeholder input

Stakeholders can help the Fayette County Public School System improve its educational program by providing input through an online survey. School system employees, parents and community members are invited to participate.

The online survey will be available through May 14 on the school system’s website, www.fcboe.org.

Input from stakeholders is extremely valuable as the school system continues to strive for excellence. Survey results will help the school system determine where improvements need to be made.

Community leaders double as servers for fund-raiser tonight

The pressure will be on Monday night when two dozen community leaders from around Fayette County will do their best to measure up to the occasion; and get the orders right. Far from the confines of law enforcement, legal issues or the business of running businesses or local government, the 24 will be volunteer servers for what should be a packed house at a charity dinner supporting child abuse prevention. Massive law enforcement procession to move through county Saturday morning

Residents of Fayette County Saturday morning will see a procession that includes a very large number of law enforcement vehicles and motorcycles. March unemployment drops slightly in Fayette and Peachtree City

Figures released this week by the Georgia Dept. of Labor (DOL) showed a small drop in unemployment to 9 percent in Fayette County and 7.9 percent in Peachtree City. Unemployment in the 10-county Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) also fell slightly to 10.7 percent.

Fayette County saw a drop in unemployment in March to 9 percent compared to the 9.3 percent rate in February. Fayette County has a workforce of 51,035, with 4,582 of those people jobless in March. Fayette’s unemployment rate in March 2009 was 7.3 percent, with 3,823 out of work. Read More»
