Feds: Fayette drug agents helped take down Mexican cell

The Tactical Narcotics Team of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was lauded this week for participating in an investigation that led to disruption of a Mexican drug trafficking organization that operated in nearby Ellenwood.

In three separate incidents involving the cell, agents seized over 900 pounds of marijuana and $1.8 million in cash, officials said. Read More»

Breyone Montez Aaron, 28, of Creekview Court, Riverdale, for suspended license.
Tanesha Nashelle Arnold, 22, of Avery Drive, Jonesboro, for pending charges false name, following too close, possession of marijuana and suspended license.

The Wildcat Marching Band had an outstanding performance last Saturday, Oct. 30 at the "LaFayette Marching Classic" at Fayette County High School. In Prelims the band placed 1st in the Class 4A division, receiving all superior ratings for band, percussion, and color guard. The color guard and percussion also placed placed 1st in Class. Girl, 16, life-flighted after PTC cart crash

REVISED FOR PRINT Nov. 2 — A woman lost control of a golf cart carrying four children and a teenager off Kedron Drive in north Peachtree City Friday night and careened into a tree. The single cart wreck resulted in the teenager being life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center. The other four passengers, ranging in age from 1 to 7, and the 24-year-old driver were treated and released at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Read More»

PTC may go back to big box limits; 1 goal would be protection of smaller stores

Peachtree City may be going back to a firm size cap on the largest-sized retail stores that will be allowed by city ordinance.

Such a “big box” ordinance would contrast to the city’s current method of regulating the size of stores and shopping centers. Currently the city allows developers a size of up to 32,000 square feet for an individual store and no more than 150,000 square feet total for one single shopping center. Read More»

PTC cops arrest Newnan man for identity fraud, ATM thefts

A Newnan man has been charged with numerous counts of identity fraud and theft after Peachtree City Police and the Secret service staked out local automated teller machines (ATMs). Gregory Anthony, 40, of Prescott Court, Newnan, was arrested Oct. 22 and taken to the Fayette County Jail, police said. Read More»
