Coweta schools to open Friday, Fayette resumes after school activities

The Coweta County School System announced Thursday night that all schools will be open for normal operating hours on Friday, February 14.

Finalists named for Fayette Teacher of the Year

Fayette schools closed Wed. and Thurs., Coweta schools closed Wed.

Fayette County public schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and Coweta County public schools will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday. Both systems will close due to winter weather conditions forecast for the local area.

Fayette, Coweta schools to hold classes Tuesday

Schools in Fayette and Coweta counties will be open Tuesday. Fayette County has, however, cancelled all after-school and extracurricular activities due to the threat of impending weather.

Fayette County School System spokesperson Melinda Berry-Dreisbach on Monday afternoon said plans call for Fayette schools to be open Tuesday.

Top charter school wants to operate in Fayette

California-based nonprofit Heritage Classical Charter Schools (HCCS) has submitted a letter of intent to locate the Liberty Tech Charter School in Fayette County beginning in the 2015-2016 school year. Fayette schools to stay closed tomorrow (Thursday)

Leaders have decided to keep Fayette County's public school system closed tomorrow (Thursday) as the county still suffers from a number of icy and slick spots on county roads and state highways.

The announcement was posted via the school system's Facebook page.

Coweta fetes nominees for Governor's Honors Program

This year’s Coweta County Governor’s Honors Program nominees were honored at a Jan. 16 breakfast at the Central Educational Center.

The Coweta County School System’s 47 sophomores and juniors nominated for 2014 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program attended a Jan. 16 breakfast at the Central Educational Center and were recognized as being the county’s most talented and top-performing high school students.
