Saint Joseph’s and Piedmont Healthcare explore joint operating company

Saint Joseph’s Health System and Piedmont Healthcare on April 9 announced the signing of a letter agreement to enter exclusive negotiations to create a new partnership in the form of a Joint Operating Company. Both Piedmont Healthcare and Saint Joseph’s are nationally recognized healthcare systems known for their quality, service to the community, and outstanding medical staffs.

Earth Day activities Saturday in Tyrone

The annual celebration of Earth Day in Fayette County is around the corner. And the event is many things to many people. Perhaps as much as anything it is the acknowledgment of the awareness that our lives are directly bound to this planet. This year’s event will be held in Tyrone April 17 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Shamrock Park on Senoia Road.

Lt. Collins to arrive noon Thursday; procession route here

Plane to land at noon; procession will begin after honor guard ceremony

A military plane carrying fallen soldier Lt. Robert Collins of Tyrone is scheduled to touch down at Falcon Field Airport in Peachtree City noon Thursday, The Citizen has learned.

Following the landing there is expected to be a brief honor guard ceremony before the procession begins. Citizens are encouraged to line the procession route and wave flags to honor Lt. Collins, who was killed April 7 in an explosion in northern Iraq.

PTC family gets 'Backyard Blitz' improvement

Peachtree City residents Tim and Kim Ruck take a few minutes out after working for nearly three days with a group of 60 people to transform their backyard as part of the new Do It Yourself Network show “Backyard Blitz.”

It was nothing short of a picturesque make-over in the backyard of Tim and Kim Ruck in Peachtree City. The transformation of the Ruck’s backyard last week into a suburban garden will be featured later this month on the Do It Yourself (DIY) Network’s new show Backyard Blitz.

Tim said the whole thing unfolded after they heard about the new television show from a friend who had contact with another production. Kim and Tim contacted the DIY Network for more information and ended up on the BackYard Blitz long list for consideration. Read More»
