CERT motorcycle ride fundraiser March 27

Now that spring has sprung, motorcycle enthusiasts have another good reason to hit the road: a March 27 fundraiser to benefit the Peachtree City Community Emergency Response Team.

The ride will start at 10 a.m. at Cooper Lighting off Ga. Highway 74 south, going through Senoia and to Warm Springs for a brief stop. Then the ride will continue to Newnan where it will end at the Great South Harley Davidson for lunch, music and fun. Read More»

Amateur riders all over Georgia are getting their horses in shape for their favorite springtime event: The Bear Creek Hounds Point-to-Point races on Saturday, March 27 at the gorgeous farm of Hal and Linda Barry in Moreland, Ga. Walmart delivers $15K grant for senior meals program

Fayette Senior Services has been awarded $15,000 through a Walmart Foundation grant to the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA).  The money will provide Fayette Senior Services Meals On Wheels program with a much-needed storage freezer, coolers, and computer equipment that is critical to the operations and management of the Meals On Wheels program to continue serving seniors in the community. Cap & Trade meeting coming March 30

Because of the large number of requests received, the Fayette-Coweta 9/12 Patriots and the Coweta Tea Party Patriots will hold a repeat of the January Cap & Trade meeting on Tuesday, March 30 from 2-3:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place, located at 203 McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City.

Speakers will include Georgia Congressman Matt Ramsey and Michael Whiteside, President of Green Power EMC & retired CEO of Coweta-Fayette EMC.

Spokesman Jim Richter said attendees will learn about the proposed cap and trade legislation currently before Congress and how citizens will be affected. Read More»

Starr’s Mill loses a legend, Earwood to head up Our Lady of Mercy football program

In 1997, there was no football at Starr’s Mill, but Mike Earwood started building a program and with the help of dedicated coaches, players and parents, a team that was a perennial powerhouse and playoff contender was built.
