PTC CERT wins state competition

Peachtree City’s Community Emergency Response Team has done it again, winning a recent state mock drill competition. Ga. Supreme Court to hold session in restored Coweta courthouse

The Supreme Court of Georgia will hold oral arguments in Newnan next Tuesday in the recently-renovated historic Coweta County Courthouse located downtown on the square. The court will hear two appeal cases involving a death penalty from Clayton County and one between Gwinnett County and restaurant owners over the responsibility for repairing a sinkhole. Read More»

F’ville pitches $8.65 million roundabout plan for Hwys. 85N/92/Hood Ave. to county

A plan to fix the intersection of Ga. highways 92 and 85 North, plus Hood Avenue in downtown Fayetteville, was presented to the Fayette County Commission last week.

A big part of the fix is the addition of a roundabout to the west of the existing BP gas station, along with moving the traffic light on Hwy. 85 southward from the current Hwy. 92 intersection a few yards south to the existing non-signaled Hood Avenue intersection. Read More»

Haddix nuked as regional transportation representative

It did not take long Monday night for the mayors of Fayetteville, Woolsey and Brooks to undo what had been done recently: the appointment of Peachtree City Mayor Don Haddix as one of the two Fayette County representatives on the Regional Transportation Roundtable (RTR) that will help decide on projects for the upcoming July 2012 vote on a 1-cent sales tax for regional transportation projects. Guest speaker will provide historical sketch of Korean War

The featured speaker at Peachtree City’s 2010 Veterans Day commemoration no doubt subscribes to the adage that a nation which does not know its history is doomed to repeat it.

It was Halloween spectacular at the grand opening of the Senoia Police Department and Municipal Court building on Oct. 30. Kids and their parents were treated to games, constume contests, snacks, a tour of the impressive building and the challenging donut on a string competition.
