Anti-bullying workshop to be held May 20

An anti-bullying workshop with information to benefit students and parents will be held May 20 at Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville.

Times Well Spent, Inc. has recently partnered with the Fayette County schools, local law enforcement and the Association of Village PRIDE, Inc. to provide the anti-bullying workshop geared towards the parents of elementary and middle school students. Newnan resident receives Legion of Merit Award

Colonel Steven Charles had a long military career, serving in the Navy, the Air Force and the Air Force Reserve. Over the course of 30 years, Charles served two cruises abouard the USS Constellation, had 212 carrier landings (89 of them at night) graduated from navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) and served as an instructor in both the F-111 Aardvark and the F-117 Stealth Fighter. New Senoia library moves closer to reality

Wow! It looks like the rendering of a beautiful new home, but it’s really the artist’s conception of the new Senoia Library that will be located along Pylant Street at Merrimac Lake Park.

It looks more like an exquisite home than a library. And the artist’s rendering of the exterior of the long-awaited Senoia Library that will be located along Pylant Street at Merrimac Lake Park is, in a word: beautiful.

At approximately four times the size of the current library, likely coming in at 4,000-5,000 square feet, recent action by the Coweta County Library Board now has the fully funded project placed in the beginning of the design phase.
Past obstacles involving the project appear to have been overcome by the determination to move ahead with the library’s construction. Read More»

Coweta Relay for Life coming next weekend

Everyone at some point should attend a Relay for Life. Though the unique events are held as fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, they are also a reflection of the spirit of a community whose members come together to support each other in the face of the trials and challenges that can come from cancer. “Ride to make history” in Senoia

Get ready to ride! Whether on motorcycles or bicycles, members of the Senoia Area Historical Society are inviting the community to the its first “Ride to Make History.” The new benefit ride coming June 5 is geared toward raising awareness of the importance of historic preservation.

Fayette Relay for Life volunteers raise $400K for cancer research
