Census: Coweta’s mid-2009 population tops 127,000

The U.S. Census Bureau earlier this week released its update population estimates for July 2009. Those estimates show Coweta County with a population of 127,111, indicating a growth rate of 42.5 percent since 2000. Read More»

US Army Colonel Robert Manning, Commandant of the Adjutant General School, and Chief of the Corps, with Major General (Retired) Jack C. Wheeler upon Wheeler’s induction into the Adjutant’s General Corps Hall of Fame at Ft Jackson, SC.

Major General Jack C. Wheeler of Fayetteville, Georgia, was inducted into the US Army Adjutant General  (AG) Corps’  Inaugural Class of the AG Corps Hall of Fame (HOF) at Ft Jackson, South Carolina, on 11 June 2010. 

The AG Corps HOF is established to recognize and memorialize persons who have made positive, lasting and significant contributions to the US Army AG Corps.   AG Corps HOF members are honored with a permanent display in the AG Corps Hall of Honor at the Adjutant General School, Fort Jackson. It was a "Ride to Make History" in Senoia June 5

The motorcycles get ready to leave downtown Senoia Saturday for a scenic ride through Coweta County as part of the “Ride to Make History” fundraiser for the Senoia Area Historical Society. The event also featured a bicycle ride that began at Senoia Children’s Park and ended at the Senoia Area Historical Society Museum on Couch Street.

Lane closures coming June 14-17 on I-85 in Coweta

Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation from June 14-17 will be performing major reconstruction of I-85 at different locations between mile marker 39 and 43 (near Exit 41; SR 14/US 27 Alt) in Coweta County. To ensure motorists and contractor safety, this work will warrant lane closures along this section of I-85, which could cause delays.

Senoia Farmers Market opens

The Senoia Farmers market begins operations Saturday from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. and will be open on the second Saturday of each month through October. The market is located in the parking lot at city hall.
