Woman seriously injured in Senoia collision Thursday morning

Senoia Police reported that a Waverly Hall woman was listed in serious but stable condition after her vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer Thursday morning at the intersection of Ga. Highway 85 and Ga. Highway 16.

Though all details are not yet available, Senoia Police spokesman Steve Tomlin said the accident occurred at 9:29 a.m. when the unidentified driver of a 2009 Kenworth tractor-trailer failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, striking Waverly Hall resident Selina Blake. Read More»

Newnan man lost in Wyoming river

Tragedy struck a Newnan family over the weekend as they vacationed with family and friends at Yellowstone National Park. Forty-six year-old Joel Fegarido was swept away in the Snake River and presumed drowned after jumping in the river to assist his 10 year-old son who was being pulled by the current. Read More»

Woman hurt in PTC crash

A crash off Ga. Highway 54 at Stevens Entry this morning sent an area woman to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, officials said.

A Lexus sport utility vehicle somehow jumped a curb, running off the road and into the woodline before it came to a stop. Peachtree City fire and rescue crews responded and prepared one victim for transport to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.

The wreck happened shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Home off Corinth Road a total loss

Firefighters from Fayetteville and Fayette County fight the flames at an empty Miller Oak Way residence Monday afternoon.

No one was home Monday afternoon as firefighters tried to avoid heat exhaustion as they battled flames at a residence on Millers Oak Way just off Corinth Road in east Fayette County. Crews from Fayetteville and Fayette County worked the blaze that destroyed the home. An investigation into the cause of the fire will be forthcoming.

Near drowning incident June 20 claims life of Gwinnett 9 year-old

A nine year-old Gwinnett County boy admitted to Scottish Rite Hospital June 20 after a near drowning incident while visiting the Southampton subdivision in Tyrone died Monday. The boy had been listed in critical condition since his admission to the hospital.
