Officers recognized for life-saving action for stricken lawyer

PTC program will help seniors with fall and fire prevention

The Peachtree City Fire Department and Fayette Senior Services are joining forces on a program to help local seniors all over the county, especially those who are shut-in, with fall and fire prevention assistance.

This week a team is attending an education course that will lead to the training of Meals On Wheels volunteers so they can identify potential hazards in the home that might cause one to fall, along with potential fire hazards as well. Read More»

Taser incident leads to deputy’s suspension

Coweta reminds motorists of road closures

Coweta County is reminding motorists in east Coweta that a portion of Lower Fayetteville Road and Luther Bailey Road will be closed for bridge work beginning Nov. 26.

County communications director Patricia Palmer said Coweta County will assist Senoia in completing emergency repairs on a bridge on Luther Bailey Road. The county will provide labor and equipment. Work to replace the bridge with culverts has already begun, said Palmer. Read More»

PTC Police receive state award

The Peachtree City Police Department was one of several law enforcement agencies to win big last week when the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) hosted its 12th Annual Governor’s Challenge Awards at the Macon Centreplex.

An annual recognition program of law enforcement agencies of all sizes and from all over the state, the program features recognition in seven different categories based on department size as well as several other specialty categories.

Parade, concert in F’ville Sat. to affect traffic

Fayetteville plays host to several large events this Saturday, Nov. 3, that will cause traffic delays in downtown Fayetteville, according to Fayetteville Police Capt. Steve Crawshaw.

“Expect delays primarily between 11 a.m. and noon along southbound Highway 85 and westbound Highway 54 near the downtown square,” Crawshaw said.

The Veteran’s Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Lafayette Avenue and will make its way south on Ga. Highway 85 to Lanier Avenue where it will turn west, headed to Tiger Trail, Crawshaw said. Read More»
