Parade, concert in F’ville Sat. to affect traffic

Fayetteville plays host to several large events this Saturday, Nov. 3, that will cause traffic delays in downtown Fayetteville, according to Fayetteville Police Capt. Steve Crawshaw.

“Expect delays primarily between 11 a.m. and noon along southbound Highway 85 and westbound Highway 54 near the downtown square,” Crawshaw said.

The Veteran’s Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Lafayette Avenue and will make its way south on Ga. Highway 85 to Lanier Avenue where it will turn west, headed to Tiger Trail, Crawshaw said. Read More»

PTC on lookout for DUI offenders

Peachtree City police will be on high alert this weekend for Halloween partiers who have had too much to drink or are otherwise too impaired to drive.

Police are also encouraging all motorists to drive slow on Halloween night Wednesday in particular and to otherwise be on the lookout for goblins and ghouls: and all of the other appropriately costumed children celebrating Halloween as they trick or treat in local neighborhoods. Read More»

F’ville cops need help identifying Rite-Aid burglar

Police are hopeful the distinctive red shirt helps identify the burglar in this video. The shirt appears to have two horizontal white stripes.

Fayetteville Police are asking for assistance in identifying the suspect involved in an Oct. 16 break-in at the Rite-Aid store at 800 North Glynn Street.

Det. Mike Whitlow said the burglary occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 16.

Surveillance video shows a subject, believed to be a black male, approximately 5’2”-5’3”, 140- 150 pounds, wearing a long red jacket with reflective stripes, dark pants and work boots, Whitlow said.

PTC police issue missing juvenile alert

UPDATE - 12:41 p.m.: Peachtree City Police are reporting that the missing girl has been found safe and sound.

Peachtree City Police are asking for assistance in locating 15-year-old Courtney Quivelli who was reported missing Tuesday at 3:30 a.m.

Lt. Mark Brown said the 15-year-old is a white female, 5’3” in height and weighing approximately 110 pounds.

Courtney was last seen wearing night clothes when she left a residence in the area of Tarragon Road in the Highgrove subdivision off Redwine Road. Read More»

Drug take-back day set in PTC

The Peachtree City Police Department is asking residents to raid their medicine cabinets for outdated or unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medicine to be turned in at a special event Saturday.

Police officers taking part in the Operation Take Back program will be at the Gathering Place off McIntosh Trail from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday accepting the drugs for permanent disposal. The service is free and anonymous as no questions will be asked. Read More»

Single car accident claims F'ville woman

A Fayetteville woman was killed Sept. 15 in a single vehicle after she lost control of her car on Ga. Highway 92 in north Fayette County.

Maj. Bryan Woodie with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said 37 year-old Carrie W. Dunn died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

Woodie said the crash occurred on Sept. 15 at approximately 6:19 p.m. on Hwy. 92 near its intersection with Peters Road in north Fayette County. Read More»
