Road rage involving motorcycle and SUV puts man in hospital

A Morrow man was arrested on multiple charges Nov. 22 after causing a motorcycle to crash on Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville and leaving the scene of the accident, police said.

Ira J. Lawrence, 31, was charged with aggravated assault, aggressive driving, hit and run/failure to render, reckless driving, improper use of turn signal/light and revoked or suspended license, according to arrest records.

Arrested PTC man hit with second child molestation charge

A Peachtree City man arrested on Oct. 6 on charges of child molestation has been charged with a second offense involving a 10-year-old Peachtree City girl.

Thomas Edward Zerbarini, 45, of Plantain Terrace, was charged Nov. 24 with child molestation, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Mark Brown said the second child molestation charge involves a 10-year-old girl from Peachtree City. Jail records indicate the offense occurred in January 2013. Read More»

Man in critical condition after beating

An incident at a central Fayette County residence shortly after midnight Nov. 14 resulted in a man being left in critical condition after he was severely beaten in the head with a baseball bat.

Emmanuel Landeros-Lopez, 23, of Fayetteville, was charged with aggravated battery and is being held in the Fayette County Jail without bond, according to Sheriff Barry Babb. Read More»

Palmetto man is arrested in convenience store robbery

A Palmetto man has been charged with the Nov. 9 armed robbery of a convenience store on U.S. Highway 29 in north Coweta County.

Sean Thomas Staples, 33, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with armed robbery, according to Sgt. Jason Fetner of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Fetner said the armed robbery occurred during the evening hours at the Mini Mart on Hwy. 29 in north Coweta County.

Staples entered the building, briefly cased the store and departed. He returned approximately 20 minutes later, Fetner said. Staples then produced a handgun and robbed the cashier, Fetner added. Read More»

Sheriff: Woman declines to share bed, man responds with chokehold

A College Park man was charged with kidnapping and simple battery in a Nov. 7 incident on Allenwood Road involving his girlfriend.

Corbin M. Livingston, 28, was charged with kidnapping and simple battery, according to jail records.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at the north Fayette address, though once at the scene they determined that the incident was domestic in nature involving a girlfriend and an ex-boyfriend.
