Jeffery David Allen, 45, of Old Greenville Road, Fayetteville, for loitering/prowling.
Jordan Drena Brown, 20, of Pond Trace, Fayetteville, for DUI less safe, lane violation and minor in possession of alcohol.
Matthew Owen Byerly, 34, of Carson’s Cove, McDonough, for probation violation.

National Night Out tonight in Fayetteville, PTC

The community is invited to participate Tuesday in celebrating National Night Out with multiple law enforcement agencies at two different locations tonight. One event will be in front of the Fayetteville Target from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fayette Pavilion shopping center. The other will be in front of Peachtree City's Target store from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kedron Village shopping center.

The events will be a special treat for children, as there will be fire trucks, helicopters, police vehicles and others on display. Read More»

2 arrested for S. Fayette burglary

Two men were arrested Friday afternoon after a southeast Fayette homeowner spotted them taking items from her home, sheriff’s deputies said.

Alan Michael Hudson, 19, and Emmanual Deanda Gunter, 18, both of Jonesboro, fled the home on foot to a nearby wooded area, and the homeowner called 911 to report the crime, officials said.

That set off a search conducted by sheriff’s deputies, K-9 units, the sheriff’s department’s helicopter and members of the Fayetteville Police Department, officials said. Read More»

PTC hosting anti-crime event Tuesday

The Peachtree City Police Department is hosting a National Night Out event at the Kedron Village Target parking lot Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event will feature plenty of sights to fascinate children, with fire ladder trucks, helicopters, police vehicles and other public safety equipment on display. There will also be a scavenger hunt for children with prizes that will be claimed at businesses in the Kedron Village Shopping Center.

The event is a nationwide program to heighten crime prevention and awareness and also promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Read More»

F’ville woman charged with murder of infant son

A Fayetteville woman has been charged with the murder in March of her 2 month-old infant son. Autopsy results showed that the infant died of methamphetamine intoxication. Read More»

2 laundry workers get steamed as gun is pulled in workplace brawl

A workplace dispute at a Fayetteville business last week led to the arrests of two coworkers. And for one, the incident resulted in a host of charges, including aggravated assault. The dispute began over clothes at a local dry cleaners and quickly escalated to a physical assault.

Melinda James, 53, of Atlanta, was charged with aggravated assault, battery, carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction, pointing a weapon at others, reckless conduct and using fighting words, according to Fayetteville Police Det. Jeff Harris. Read More»

Clues sought for 2 Peachtree City vehicle fires

Peachtree City police are still hoping to shake loose additional information that will lead to the person or persons responsible for setting two vehicles on fire in south Peachtree City July 4 and 11.

A reward of up to $10,000 has been offered in the case but so far no one with any information has come forward, police said Thursday.

The fires damaged vehicles that were parked in driveways of two homes: one in the Everhill subdivision and the other in the nearby Rockspray subdivision, police said. Read More»
