Two PTC men arrested for forging concert tickets

Peachtree City Police in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have arrested two Peachtree City men in connection with selling forged concert tickets to victims across the Southeast.

Russell Davis, 22, and Jason Kimpel, 22, both of Peachtree City, were arrested Jan. 19, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Rosanna Dove. Davis was charged with theft by deception and forgery involving multiple victims while Kimpel was charged with theft by deception and being a party to a crime (forgery), also involving the same multiple victims, Dove said. 2 charged with invading cop's home in north Fayette

Two Fayetteville men were charged Jan. 12 with a home invasion in north Fayette County. The resident, an East Point police officer, was slightly injured and found duct-taped when deputies arrived. He told deputies that masked men held him at gunpoint during the incident. The men were arrested minutes later by a Fayetteville Police officer. Read More»

PTC Quiznos burglarized early Monday

The beginning of the winter storm early Monday morning did not deter a break-in and theft at the Quiznos restaurant on Ga. Highway 54 in the Peachtree East Shopping Center just outside Peachtree City. The incident is under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The burglary occurred on Jan. 10 at approximately 2:15 a.m. when a brick was thrown through a front window, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Brent Rowan, adding that the power to the store had been turned off from the outside of the building. Read More»

Burglars hit F’ville Foot Locker early Thursday

Fayetteville Police are searching for three suspects that burglarized the Foot Locker store at the Fayette Pavilion early Thursday morning.

Department spokesperson Mike Whitlow said surveillance video captured three suspects burglarizing a Fayetteville Foot Locker store early Thursday at approximately 4 a.m.

Whitlow said a silver vehicle, possibly a newer model crossover, backed up to the front door of the store. Three males exited the vehicle and shattered the front door using a tool similar to the Halligan tool fire departments use, Whitlow said. Read More»

Tuesday's court cases rescheduled for Fayetteville

The court cases postponed for Fayetteville Municipal Court on January 11, 2011 due to icy road conditions, have been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at 8:00 a.m., officials said today.

F’ville reviews trespassing ordinance

The Fayetteville City Council on Jan. 6 got a look at the first reading of a proposed unauthorized entry ordinance intended to keep such minor offenses adjudicated in city court.

Police Chief Steve Heaton said the intent of the ordinance is to assist officers in addressing trespassing on private property and to provide for city charges processed in city court rather than the customary state charges that require the offender to be processed in state court. The first offense for trespassing, whether under state law or city ordinance, is a warning, Heaton added. Read More»

Fayette County sheriff’s detectives are looking for a gunman whose shot grazed a convenience store clerk Monday afternoon at the BP/Amoco gas station at the intersection of Ga. highways 138 and 279 on the county’s northern border with Fulton and Clayton counties.

The gunman entered the store around 2:10 p.m. talking on a phone, and waited inside the store about 15 minutes before approaching the counter and displaying a handgun, sheriff’s detectives said. Read More»
