PTC girl cleared of gang charges forced to change schools

Eight female students from Booth Middle School and one from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City were arrested in December on gang-related charges. One of those girls, Gabby Santamorena, was later cleared of the charges, yet the 13 year-old is not being allowed to attend her school and has been transferred to another middle school by the Fayette County School System. Nine underage drinkers arrested at rowdy party

A late night gathering at Weatherly Walk Apartments in Fayetteville last weekend resulted in the arrest of nine underage drinkers.

Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw said officers at 2:30 a.m. received a call about a possible fight occurring in one of the buildings at Weatherly Walk Apartments, located in east Fayetteville off Ga. Highway 54.

After arriving at the scene officers found no altercation at the specified building but did hear a range of activity including loud music and people yelling coming from an apartment in the adjacent building, Crawshaw said. Read More»

Sting nets two arrests for prostitution, one for pimping

Two women were arrested on charges of prostitution and one man was arrested for pimping in a Jan. 20 sting conducted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Tactical Narcotic Team (TNT).

Tavish Sunshine Hunter, 40, of East Point and Megan Paige Johnson, 21, of Hixson, Tenn. were both charged with prostitution, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Brent Rowan.

Also arrested on charges of pimping and violating the Georgia Controlled Substance Act for being in possession of prescription medication without a legal prescription was Corey Montez Hollie, 31, of Atlanta, said Rowan. Read More»

Two PTC men arrested for forging concert tickets

Peachtree City Police in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have arrested two Peachtree City men in connection with selling forged concert tickets to victims across the Southeast.

Russell Davis, 22, and Jason Kimpel, 22, both of Peachtree City, were arrested Jan. 19, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Rosanna Dove. Davis was charged with theft by deception and forgery involving multiple victims while Kimpel was charged with theft by deception and being a party to a crime (forgery), also involving the same multiple victims, Dove said. 2 charged with invading cop's home in north Fayette

Two Fayetteville men were charged Jan. 12 with a home invasion in north Fayette County. The resident, an East Point police officer, was slightly injured and found duct-taped when deputies arrived. He told deputies that masked men held him at gunpoint during the incident. The men were arrested minutes later by a Fayetteville Police officer. Read More»

PTC Quiznos burglarized early Monday

The beginning of the winter storm early Monday morning did not deter a break-in and theft at the Quiznos restaurant on Ga. Highway 54 in the Peachtree East Shopping Center just outside Peachtree City. The incident is under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The burglary occurred on Jan. 10 at approximately 2:15 a.m. when a brick was thrown through a front window, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Brent Rowan, adding that the power to the store had been turned off from the outside of the building. Read More»

Burglars hit F’ville Foot Locker early Thursday

Fayetteville Police are searching for three suspects that burglarized the Foot Locker store at the Fayette Pavilion early Thursday morning.

Department spokesperson Mike Whitlow said surveillance video captured three suspects burglarizing a Fayetteville Foot Locker store early Thursday at approximately 4 a.m.

Whitlow said a silver vehicle, possibly a newer model crossover, backed up to the front door of the store. Three males exited the vehicle and shattered the front door using a tool similar to the Halligan tool fire departments use, Whitlow said. Read More»
