Henry County man charged in Senoia burglary

A Henry County man was arrested June 6 by Senoia Police on charges of burglary and cruelty to animals stemming from a May 24 residential break-in where six put bull puppies were stolen.

Twenty-nine year-old Jacob E. Bishop was charged with burglary, cruelty to animals and theft by taking, according to department spokesperson Steve Tomlin.

The residential burglary occurred on May 24 in which six pit bull puppies were removed from the home, Tomlin said. The investigation by Investigator Alicia Batts determined that Bishop was suspect in the break-in, Tomlin said. Read More»

PTC woman charged with heroin possession

A Peachtree City woman was charged June 4 with possession of heroin and cocaine after striking a vehicle on Johnson Avenue in Fayetteville that was being driven by a sheriff’s deputy.

Alicia Ann Seal, 21, was turning on to Johnson Avenue when her vehicle struck another, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw, adding that the driver of the struck vehicle was a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy driving his private vehicle.

Fayetteville Police were called to the accident scene and were told by the sheriff’s employee that the woman had been acting suspiciously, said Crawshaw. Read More»

PTC man arrested for Spalding robbery, assault

A Peachtree City man was arrested June 5 on outstanding charges from Spalding County including one count of criminal attempt to commit murder, police said.

Kevin Rossborough, 47, was arrested Sunday after an officer spotted him driving and recalled that he likely had a suspended license, said Peachtree City Police Lt. Mark Brown.

When the car’s tag was run, it revealed several outstanding warrants from Spalding County, and Rossborough was placed under arrest, Brown said. Read More»

Special needs teacher charged in affair with student

A 29-year-old contract teacher working at Northgate High School was charged May 27 with child molestation involving a 15-year-old former student. Dorothy Elizabeth Dixon was arrested after her husband found sexting messages on his wife’s phone, confronted her and reported her explanation to authorities.

Maj. James Yarbrough of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said investigators were alerted to what is said to have been a sexual relationship between Dixon and one of her former students, a 15-year-old male special needs student, after her husband found sexting messages on her phone. Read More»

Victim remains hospitalized, recovering from incident

Two arrests have been made in connection with the shooting of a 56-year-old man who was walking along Ga. Highway 138 May 12, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

Dwayne Alfonzo Roberts, 18, and an unnamed juvenile, 16, both of Riverdale, were taken into custody May 24, officials said.

Meanwhile the victim remains at Atlanta Medical Center where he is still being treated for injuries he received during the assault, according to sheriff's investigators. The victim was shot in the abdomen and also struck multiple times during the assault, officials said. Read More»
