8th arrest made in 2010 Shiloh Mobile Home Park arson, fraud

An eighth person has been arrested by Fayette County Sheriff’s investigators in connection to a case of insurance fraud relating to an August 2010 arson fire at a residence in the Shiloh Mobile Home Park near Peachtree City.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Brent Rowan said Fayette County investigators with the assistance of Richland County South Carolina Sheriff’s Office, the Columbia, S.C., Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) made an arrest on June 29 in connection with an arson for profit investigation which began on Aug. 4, 2010. Tyrone police reports - June

The following arrests were made by Tyrone Police during the month of June. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Diandre Maurice Anderson, 23, of South Maple Stret, Albany, for less than an ounce of marijuana and speeding.

Jose Luis Chavez-Perez, 34, of Artesia Drive, Clarkston, for driving while license suspended or revoked (felony).

Juan Escalante-Perez, 29, of Shannon Trace, Fairburn, for speeding and driving while unlicensed. Read More»

Speeding cycle crashes in downtown Senoia

It was over almost before it started. And a Griffin woman was fortunate to be able to walk away after her motorcycle crashed and temporarily caught fire in a June 26 high-speed attempt to elude officers in downtown Senoia.

Holly Victoria Hensler, 22, was charged with speeding, fleeing and attempting to elude and reckless driving in the 52-second pursuit that began on June 26 at 12:36 a.m., according to Senoia Police spokesperson Steve Tomlin. Read More»

A man who flashed a female jogger on a Kedron Village golf cart path Wednesday morning was nabbed by Peachtree City Police within a few minutes and a few blocks of the incident, said Capt. Rosanna Dove, public information officer. Read More»

PTC man arrested for child molestation

Peachtree City resident David Johnson was arrested June 23 on charges of molestation and sexual battery involving a young boy, police said.

Johnson, 33, was arrested June 23 on charges of aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery, according to Fairburn Detective Tiffany Hudson. Johnson was arrested by officers from Peachtree City based on warrants and turned over to Fairburn. Read More»

Man uninjured in attack at Tinseltown

A June 25 incident at the Tinseltown Theater at the Fayette Pavilion left a man essentially uninjured after an attack that occurred after he left the theater.

The victim told officers he left the theater at approximately 10 p.m. and was texting on his cell phone while walking to his vehicle, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Debbie Chambers. Read More»

Atlanta man charged in Fayette car theft

An Atlanta man was charged by Fayette County Sheriff’s investigators on June 22 with the theft of a vehicle from a north Fayette auto broker.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Brent Rowan said investigators arrested 34 year-old Atlanta resident Marcus Ferguson on charges of theft by taking in connection with the theft of a 2002 Monte Carlo stolen on Feb. 8 from CJW Auto Brokers on New Hope Road.

F’ville man arrested for public indecency

A Fayetteville man was charged June 20 with public indecency after being reported for exposing himself in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Kroger grocery store on South Glynn Street in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw said 45-year-old Alan Ponder was charged with public indecency and possession of a controlled substance.

Crawshaw said a couple had exited the grocery store at approximately 2 p.m. and were putting groceries in their vehicle. The couple said they witnessed Ponder masturbating in his vehicle and called police, Crawshaw said. Read More»
