Armed robbers hit Verizon store at Pavilion

Two masked gunmen Thursday morning robbed the Verizon storeat 105 Promenade Parkway, across from the Fayette Pavilion, and are being sought by Fayetteville Police.

Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw said the armed robbery occurred at 9:12 a.m. as two men described by employees as black males wearing masks and dark clothing entered the store, which is in the same center as FedEx Kinko’s Office Print and Ship store.

PTC man, 26 , busted in Aberdeen parking lot for meth

A Peachtree City man was arrested Jan. 9 for selling methamphetamine at the Aberdeen Village Shopping Center to an undercover investigator with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT).

Reese J. Neely, 26, of Carradale Court, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and sale of methamphetamine, according to sheriff’s spokesman Brent Rowan. Read More»

Griffin man caught after Redwine Road area burglary

A Griffin man on Jan. 7 was caught by Fayetteville Police just minutes after burglarizing a home on Millhaven Landing near Redwine Road.

Stephen Michael Jones, 21, was charged with burglary, obstruction and loitering, according to Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw. Read More»

Atlanta police, friends searching for missing FCHS grad

Atlanta police are investigating the disappearance of a Fayette County High School graduate who was last seen by friends Dec. 27.

Stacey Nicole English, 36, of Buckhead, was reported missing Dec. 31, police said. On top of the police investigation, her family and friends have mounted a campaign to distribute flyers in hopes of encountering anyone with information as to her whereabouts. Read More»

Pastor and female church member arrested for stealing $30,000 from church

A Fayetteville church pastor accused of running off to Pennsylvania with a female church member and $30,000 of the church’s money has been arrested and returned to the Fayette County Jail — minus the money.

Kenneth Robinson, 44, senior pastor of the Flint Ridge Baptist Church on Old Road off Ga. Highway 85 North, has been charged with two counts of forgery in the first degree and one count of theft by taking, according to Investigator Brent Rowan of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Read More»

South F’ville home burglarized Jan. 4

A mid-day burglary on Jan. 4 at a Fayetteville residence off Redwine Road resulted in the theft of a flat screen television and a number of jewelry items.

Fayetteville Police Det. MIke Whitlow said the break-in on Lockmeade Way occurred Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Whitlow said there was a forced entry at the rear door of the home. Stolen in the burglary was a flat screen television and a significant amount of jewelry, Whitlow said. Read More»
