3 women arrested in 1 of 3 burglary cases Nov. 6-7

Unincorporated Fayette County was hit with three burglaries on Nov. 6 and 7. In one of the cases three women were arrested on Ga. Highway 314 after a home break-in on White Oak Way.

The Nov. 6 burglary occurred at a residence on White Oak Way at approximately 1:30 p.m., according to Fayette County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brent Rowan. A neighbor witnessed two females leaving the home and called 911, Rowan said. Cops find stolen items in nearby storage room

Fayetteville Police responding to a Nov. 5 burglary at the Weatherly Walk Apartments off Ga. Highway 54 East located some of the stolen items in the storage room of a vacant apartment in the same building.

Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw said officers responded after a resident arrived home shortly after 9 p.m. finding that the front door had been forced open.

The resident determined the stolen items to include an Xbox, a laptop computer, a handgun and a small amount of cash, Crawshaw said. Read More»

Man gets year in prison for DUI wreck with his 2 kids

A Riverdale man has been sentenced to one year in prison for an Aug. 10, 2010 DUI wreck in Fayetteville that involved his two children as passengers.

Shane Christopher Barrington, 36, pled guilty in court Monday to one felony count of obstruction of a police officer and misdemeanor counts of DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and two counts of endangering a child while DUI.

Court officials said Barrington was under the influence of oxycodone at the time of the crash. Read More»

Church: Youth pastor fired before molestation probe

A former youth pastor at Heritage Christian Church was fired from the position “some time” before the church learned of allegations that he sexually molested a boy under the age of 16, according to Heritage Christian Pastor Doug Fultz.

Nathan Donald Moore, 24, is accused of having sexual contact with the male juvenile on six different occasions at Moore’s home on the far southern edge of Fayette County. But the church was unaware of those allegations when Moore was dismissed “early this summer,” Pastor Fultz said. Read More»

Tyrone man, 19, charged with raping Fayetteville girl, 13

A 19-year-old Tyrone man is facing charges of rape and other felonies related to an Oct. 30 incident involving a 13-year-old Fayetteville female.

Devin J. McGuine was charged by Tyrone police with rape, child molestation and criminal attempt to commit aggravated sodomy, according to Maj. Van Brock. McGuine was also charged by Fayetteville Police with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and loitering or prowling, according to Fayette County Jail records. Read More»

Youth pastor charged with child molestation

A former youth pastor at Heritage Christian Church has been charged with sexually molesting a boy under the age of 16, The Citizen has learned.

Nathan Donald Moore, 24, of Lone Oak Drive in south Fayette County is being held in jail without bond on six counts of felony child molestation, six counts of felony aggravated child molestation and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes. Read More»

PTC mail carrier arrested for gift card theft

A Peachtree City mail carrier has been charged with stealing gift cards that were supposed to be delivered to addresses along his route, police said.

John Breedlove, 42, of Baltic Drive, Sharpsburg, was arrested today on eight counts of misdemeanor theft by taking and one count of failure to keep medicine in its original container, police said.

The investigation began when Breedlove’s personal vehicle caught fire in the parking lot of the Peachtree City Post Office Aug. 8, police said.

An arson investigation is also being conducted in relation to the fire, police said. Read More»

A Senoia man was arrested today on several charges stemming from the investigation of a suspicious man interacting with students at several Peachtree City school bus stops, police said. Damien Lee Yerger, 24, of Autumn Creek Drive, Senoia was charged with two felony counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and three misdemeanor counts of loitering/prowling, police said. 3 arrested in 2nd Walmart debit fraud attempt

Police have arrested three Nigerian residents for attempting to fraudulently withdraw large sums of money using prepaid debit cards at the Peachtree City Walmart.

This is the second time that such a scam has been detected at the Walmart in eight days. The suspects were arrested Oct. 28 after Walmart loss prevention officers determined the transaction was fraudulent, police said.
